I finally achieved perfection today after a little over five years in the game. Getting to 10 million gold is definitely not easy, I am impressed that Gab got the wine cellar and ancient fruit set up so quickly!
I've never gotten it before. Still working on it XD
There's an easy way to get to the millions, the only bit of 'luck' you'll need is getting an Ancient Seed.
After that, all you need is the Greenhouse, x32 Ancient Fruit Plants (Planted in Fertilized Soil) and x32 Kegs. Kegs Produce Wine at the same speed that that Ancient Fruit Plants produce fruit.
This will automatically get you 50k a week. Once you get a Cellar and Casks, you can start producing Fairy Dust to really ratchet up production.
(Conversely, forgo the Kegs and make Preserves Jars for a faster production profit time. You just need 3 Ancient Fruit for each Preserves Jar)
The merchant in the desert sells stairs for jade on sundays, so I just used a bunch of crystalariums for jade and bought 50 stairs to get to level 100 in the skull mines

Oh but don't you get a penalty for using too much stairs? I heard from someone that something happens if you use stairs too much in the skull cavern

I always just make my truffle oil over night. That way it's done while I'm asleep, so none of my time is wasted. It also makes it easier for me because then I just wait until the animals are in the barns for the night before collecting the truffles. So for me, it's more efficient.
Hey Gab! Easiest way to get a lobster is to put the crab pots in front of Willys shop. I got like three there. Hope it works! Love the play through.
this game is so underrated. The overall sounds are really well produced and the artwork is phenomenal. Wow!
Agreed, and to think it's just the one person behind it! The chest opening sound is *chef's kiss* perfect, the thunder is ominous, and it's impossible to overstate how fun the random bloop melodies you get when you're picking up loads of random things can be.
For wood, I put about 8 wood chippers in each area that there's hardwood stumps, you can get a lot of wood quicker that way :) love your videos!
Also filling up the quarry with trees seemed to really help. Just regular ones now instead of hardwood
I plant trees near Marnie. There is a lot of space for that. Have no problem with wood now ✌️
lol i think you might be looking at leah's loved gifts every time you check the dwarf from your notebook... the dwarf's favorite gifts are gemstones, not truffles or goat cheese etc

Gab & Chat, y'all've helped me beyond measure with this Stardew playthrough and I can't thank y'all enough! 💜 Y'all have given me a bit of hope and purpose as I try to play along and attempt to keep up, even though I am unable to join as a member on Twitch and my body often falls me, so I can only catch up here on YT. (I actually rewatch your vods and these videos very often as Gab, you somehow ease my anxiety and even my insomnia as my body and brain continue deteriorating at rates we could've never imagined. I've struggled with ways to try to keep my brain active... On positive things and not sinking further into depression and despair, where I've been sinking further and further since being deemed unworthy to work... in the fields in which I spent my life studying and working, always graduating top of my class, even earning my MBA, ... Or anywhere else... as I've become bedridden more and more over the past decade+... And it's VERY DIFFICULT to not focused on what suffocates me day and night. Trying to follow along in a game like SDV, which can be taken at any place, truly gives me something to look forward to each time pain wake me up again and insomnia won't let me sleep... And all of the help from chat is helping me, too. Thank y'all so much!
I admit; I'm also scared that we are almost done watching you play Stardew since you've totally dominated it and that makes me so sad!
I am dealing with much the same as you are. I understand the feelings of being trapped in your own body, guilt and frustration at feeling "useless," angry that no one else understands, depressed that no one says the things you need to hear *because* they don't understand, bored beyond measure, angry at your own body for failing you, hopeless because the people who love you just want you to feel better and you keep disappointing them, fearing living another 50 years with this pain and deterioration, etc.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Your feelings are valid. Your anger and grief are valid. You may get better. You may not. However you choose to handle it is best decided by *you.* There are people who understand and empathize when you need to vent. Come to us when you need to. Take refuge in comfort (like watching Gab) when you need to.
So many people get their validation externally (they feel no value in themselves if other people do not see them as valuable.) That in itself hurts many people but at least we can say "value yourself." When you find validation internally it is so much harder when "yourself" starts to fail you. I struggle with that myself.
I try to think like this:
A good friend of mine once said "No one knows how to human. I feel fulfillment by teaching my children how to human. But it doesn't have to be your children you help. You find fulfillment in teaching others who don't struggle how to empathize with those who do. Humans find fulfillment in helping each other." The best we can do for ourselves and others is try to learn how to human and share it as much as possible to lessen suffering. As long as you try your hardest to be the best you can to yourself and others you are ahead of the curve. Your value comes not from your tangible effect on the world but from how hard you tried. As long as you try to be good to yourself and others (in whatever way you can) you have done something immensely valuable. Your life changes the world. Life is struggle. If you ease the struggle for yourself and others, that is the most worthwhile kindness I can imagine.

You can replant your corn, strawberries, blueberries, cranberries and coffe in a pot just like that cactus plant

If you're interested, I think you should look into the Chicago Tylenol murders. It kind of goes along the lines of the Japanese candy companies but instead it was random Tylenol pills. It even brought about new laws when it came to packaging medication nowadays.

Volcano is the best place to farm rocks if you don't wanna buy them. Every rock in volcano is solid 100% drops rock, not like in other mines sometime drops, sometime doesn't.
I just started Stardew today because of these streams. I'm super excited about it!
Possible Helpful Tip:
You can add 3 stat boosts to your weapon in the forge, and you can enchant it as well! You can buy more sheds if you need room for more kegs, crystalariums, mayo machines, or cheese makers. Honey can be pretty profitable when using the right flowers for an extra boost.

This is my first playthrough in Stardew and watching your streams on here has really sparked my interest in this game again. I actually Tried to play this game a couple of years ago. I only made it about 2 in game weeks and lost interest for unrelated reasons and forgot about this gem. But I am hooked now thanks to your videos! This is the first series I've watched all of the videos and am glad I found this enjoyable channel. Keep having fun and enjoying the games!

100% PERFECTION is DIFFERENT from 100% COMPLETION in SDV 1.5! I've seen you getting confused by different messages from chat and what you see in the UI collections, so I just want to make sure that you know: according to the developer (Eric/ConcernedApe), he created TWO DIFFERENT "LATE/END GAME" SPECIFICATIONS since different people (especially speedrunners, pros, etc) not only play the game differently from so many of us "filthy casuals" (love that shirt) 😉🤣, but they actually need very specific goals to aim for and to identify an endpoint for their purposes.
The specifications for "Perfection" are identified once you pass through the mysterious island door of Mr. Qi (meant to be said as "Chee," though I now prefer "Chee-Key" from another steamer's confusion with how it was meant to be said... 😜). I've done my absolute best not to give you any spoilers, but I feel like this will be beneficial was you can easily search up the two and the differences and decide what you want YOUR GAME to be.
This game is so relaxing 😌 I actually bought it on the switch after watching you play it. Thank you!

Not sure if someone mentioned this yet, but the prismatic slimes only spawn once you take the quest from the wizard for "prismatic jelly"- thats why you haven't seen them!

My GF just had me watch this with her and I noticed that the coffee machine was backwards. Like the back of the machine is facing the room and not the wall. She had not noticed this and said that it has not been pointed out yet in one of the videos.
the soot sprites are my favorite things in the mines because it reminds me of spirited away and my neighbor totoro. In japanese it’s susuwatari so i named my black kitten susuwatari and call her susu!!

Have you seen a game called "my time at portia"? It has a lot of similarities with stardew, except you run a builders workshop instead of a farm. It's an equally addictive time sink, if you're looking for something just as relaxing to play. :)

So I have watched Gab's playthrough of this mainly so I could research the game and figure out the hype. I ended up caving and getting the game. I am about to finish Spring Year 2 and it is really fun. Now I will use this playthrough to motivate myself to play my own file
Gabs, you can reload level 5 of the mine over and over again to get a prismatic jelly ^^ you can get it pretty fast that way :)
If you become friends with Sandy she will sometimes give you a small cows milk when you talk to her :)

I'm at my second year only, and way way behind on everything you have but i have 0 issues with wood, i always go for all the threes near the wizards home, i place the seeds to make the hardwood trees there and i get both woods easily

One thing about stardew for me is that fishing on switch is an absolute nightmare, like i want to do the community centre and stuff but i can not fish like at all, i struggle so much, buuut i do really enjoy the crops and foraging and like being friends with people, also mining seems fine so far, only a few days in so far to year 1 😅 anyway sorry fpr the super long comment, i love this series, i have a mega playlist of all the stardew videos in order, the original series into the expanded one ❤❤❤❤
EDIT: tips to make fishing easier for someone who uses a switch lite with a controller, has coordination issues and is autistic and loves stardew would be super mega helpful 🎉🎉
Only thing that comes to mind is to start with carp and lvl up your fishing so it gets easier. Also later use bobbers and food boosters.

I'm always curious, what exactly is rabbit's foot and why is it universally loved by everyone in game? Like, is it a bone? From a rabbit? Because every time I hear it, what comes to my mind is that the rabbit has to be killed beforehand and have its foot chopped, so not exactly a wholesome picture in my head haha.

If the spouse of your character has a job in town, does that add to your money total at the end of each day? So if you marry Emily who works at the pub or maybe Shane who works/ worked at Joja, Maru who works at the clinic, or even Seb who has his programming work
