I've been watching since way back. Good to see that your FYP is coming along. A lecturer in our second year once joked that in a 4 years engineering degree, the first 5 years are the hardest. We thought it was a joke, but it ended up being a reality for most people. Soon you will be posting a vlog in your new job wearing a "trust me I'm an engineer" t-shirt.

I started at Tuks in 2013 and heard the saying of "if you haven't started studying by the time the Jacarandas start blooming then it's too late." You said it as you went past the zoology building that I spent countless hours working in and suddenly all those good and bad memories came back to me.
Jacaranda season is definitely the prettiest 2 weeks of campus

One question - regarding laptop fir C engineering student do we need one with a lot of graphic facility or a normal i7 with 16 GB will do . We would appreciate your advise.Thanks.
That laptop sounds fine. Most of varsity work is done inside a web browser anyway :)

Can you please explain to me when you applied at UP for the course, did they accept you based on your grade 11 final marks or grade 12??
You get provisional acceptance based on end of grade 11 and final based on end of grade 12

Yes
You can always apply for the engage program, it’s the exact degree, but in 5 years, with additional modules for the first 2 years
