My name is Mitch Williams and I'm a twenty-three year-old Computer Engineering Graduate living in South Africa. I am really passionate about learning, technology, reading and business. These videos are a way of remembering my life and to possibly help out some other future young people get a sense of what they're in for at varsity and in the real-world.

One of the good benefits of doing difficult degrees is that it gives you the confidence and ability to pursue anything in life. 👍👍🔥🔥 Congrats mitch
Exactly!
Congrats Mitch👏!! 5 years for an engineering degree should be considered record time lol😁Looking forward to that "A day in the life of a software engineer" video soon👌
Soon soon!
Congratulations, Mitch!! What a pleasure it’s been watching your journey all these years. All the best for your future. 🤩🤩
Thanks so much, journey's just begun
Thank you, Mitch, for all the varsity advice. It has helped me a lot.
I'm so glad!
Thank you very for sharing Mitch, I needed this information.
Great
Great summary Mitch! And absolutely SMASHEDDD it in the end 😍💪
With help from friends♥️
Thanks bruv im doing Computer Science and Applied Mathematics you just showed me that what I'm going through is normal. You are an inspiration
Thanks man, good luck!
Congratulations man. Your videos got me through varsity, I am forever grateful
Congrats man!
Remember watching your video 4 years ago. Now I'm doing my first year in computer science!
Well done !! Can't wait to see how your channel will unfold.
Good luck, me too
What a journey man, I still remember the first video in this channel. We started together Mitch and we finished together, I also took an extra year. Absolutely worth it 🙌🏾
Thanks for being such a longtime supporter man, we done!
Hey Mitch congratulations on completing your degree and I absolutely can't wait for your post-varsity work related computer engineering videos, I'm going into my 2nd year of computer engineering and I just have a few question to ask, if you had to do your degree again what would you differently and how would you manage your overall time and work load better as you progress in the later years of your degree, how did you handle the pressure that comes with engineering week, how did you manage to study effectively and how did manage not understanding certain complex concepts immediately and how did you keep yourself motivated when you had to repeat certain modules. You can make a short video about it because I know if these are not in place you can easily quit engineering school. I know it will help many more upcoming engineering students. Thank you in advance.
Watch some of my tips for Tuks videos and general Eng videos. There's no secret, just have to find the reason you want the degree and study with friends and ask for help regularly and keep on working hard even when you fail
Congrats Mitch🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man!
Congrats bro, You give us a lot of inspiration.👏👏👏👏
Thanks hey, I try!
I’m so inspired as you explain that you also took 5 years instead of 4 , because I’m also doing electronics and electronics engineering and not graduating in record time is discouraging me but I’m glad now
Means nothing when you working so keep going! :)
Truly inspiring congrats on making through engineering degree🔥🔥
Thanks a lot. Glad to be done
Congratulations Mitch 🙌🏿🔥
Appreciate it
Congratulations Mitch for Completing the Degree . Another congratulations for your consistency in past 5 years uploading videos . May be you are a born techno commercial media person , please dont restrict yourself just in Engineering field . Your last video is actually the best one interns of content , prep , presentation etc . Somehow I felt that somebody in our house completing the degree . Congratulations .. well done . Stay blessed .
Thanks hey. Gonna be interesting to see where I can take the channel
I’ve watched your videos since you were in your first year ,and now I’m doing my first year in computer science 👍🏼
Good luck!
All the best with your journey ahead
Thanks a lot
Congratulations Mitch. 🔥🔥🔥. I also completed my Electrical and Information Engineering...Signals and Systems was brutal😅
Well done
You really crushed your final year hey😅. Very inspiring!
Thanks man! Was nice to finish strong
I never Comment but i really loved your video. And congratulations on your degree 🥳🥳.
Thanks so much!
Congrats man! These videos give amazing insight into the highs and lows of the degree 🙌
Thanks man, that's their intention!
If I were in a position to influence policy on how to grade exams I would suggest giving method marks a high priority. The true test of assessing a student's ability to answer a question is how well he or she can present a series of well reasoned mathematical method steps that lead to the correct conclusion; the precise numerical answer is of lesser importance since even someone who has never attended varsity could accurately complete the arithmetic of plugging numbers into the formulae at a later time. Also I remember when you were deciding whether you should stretch out your studies to 5 years. At the time you were leaning toward adhering to the original 4 year plan. Had you known then that only 20% of students succeed in such a short time it would have been easier to make the decision to take the extra year to finish. Please take care on your trip Mitch, this has been the mildest Winter we've had here in the nation's capital since 1949; to date we've had no measurable snow at all but in the past February has produced some of our heaviest snowfalls measuring over 2 feet and capable of snarling air traffic up and down the East Coast. If long range forecasts are accurate that won't happen this Winter.
USA is great so far!
@@mitch7w I was hoping it would be Mitch! Yeah, it was 65° and sunny in Washington DC and Maryland a couple days ago, it hardly ever gets that warm in February. Even though the last day and a half have cooled down we’re going back up into the 60s next weekl
Graduation with computer engineering this December. This major gave me headaches, stress but all worth it. I like the diversity this degree will give me in the future.
Congrats
Power vid, Mitch.
Thanks bro💪🏼
Thank you man. I just wrapped up my first year of computer engineering, I failed a course and was considering dropping the major honestly. But you've showed me its still doable. And that there's nothing wrong with taking a 5th year. Thanks again.
Good luck!
Do you need really need physics to entre software cause im good in maths not physics
I love how you speak, sir.
Thank you ;)
mitch u my mate , I used to chat with u during covid lockdown , it was so hard days for me , u supported me mate big thanks
Hope you doing well man, shoot me another DM
where ,on ing , are u free ? , really big fan of u , covid 19 was so harsh days for me , very far from family , very bad days @@mitch7w
Thank u!!!!
:)
I've never come across a bad attitude towards undergraduates where I live in Sweden! All my lecturers enjoy questions and will take extra time to discuss with first year students! And I've been at two unis at least.
That's good, glad you're being treated well
👏👏congrats
Dankie
Congratulation Mitch on completing your Computer Engineering, I would an advice on how to pass a computer science at UP
Watch my old videos :)
Thank you for your explanation, could you please tell me do I need to know coding for the first year of bachelor’s degree in computer engineering?❤
No but it will help a lot
You made it my boy ❤
We did♥️
Hi Mitch, In Computer Engineering at Tuks, what is a good GPA Score. Is 70% good, is there people with 80% overall, is that a herculean task in UP. to get some idea of what is a good score. I guess the GPA Score matters when we aim to do an overseas master's program.
75% and above is a distinction. A distinction is very very impressive for Comp Eng imo
Hey Mitch! I got conditional acceptance into Computer Engineering at Tuks 💪🏾 provided all goes well i'll be doing that program next year. Any advice for 1st year?
twin
Watch my advice videos. And start learning calculus with Khan Academy
See you in class soon
I miss you by 2 years, good luck with your future
Thanks
Awesome video
Thanks man!
You a genuis been struggling with computer engineering since 2019 and all I can say is computer engineering is hard course
It is indeed, thank you
hello Mitch i will be doing comp eng 1st year next year at UP do you have any recommendations about what I should be doing to prepare myself for next year this holiday eg any programming languages or any maths I should be doing
Yeah, do some Khan Academy calculus courses to get ahead
@@sentientartificialintelligence i mean we are starting in feb isnt it too late?
also how hard does the course get?
Hello Guys, by any chance do you know where I can get the link for the prerequisite flow chart shown during the video timestamp 11:07
Used to be on the tuks Chem Eng website or eece clickUP but I got no idea these days
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Wh8ch programming language do they use to program I'm consider to move to UP
All of them
I only wish this course were available in Fiji
Lots of good online alternatives like Courser and edX
Mitch what was your grade 11 and 12 final term maths marks
In the 80s
When you switched to 5 years, is that the same as switching to the Engage? Or is it just switching your 4yr to 5yrs to reduce the load?
Switching to reduce the load. Engage has extra modules you have to do
@@mitch7w great, thanks. I know about the extra modules, that's why I'm asking. Don't want those!
Hey mind me asking whats the difference between electronic and computer engineering
Does electronic have a bit more hardware and computer more software with them having more focus on electronics/computers than electrical engineering
Computer has more software and electronic has more electrical/robotics
@@mitch7w would you say electronic engineering is closely related to mechatronics engineering
@@mitch7w also which one will be better for a career in designing/being able to repair chips/CPU’s/boards
Hey Sir; can I please contact you; I have questions for you and, I'm starting this degree next week
You can message here or on insta
congrats on graduating but 50% passing is crazy tbh if it were me i wouldve passed all of my classes easily but i guess its different in different countries
Congrats
Congratulations. My son was accepted for Computer Engineering degree at UP and I’m sure this will be a big help to him.
Congrats!
Not enough computer engineering stuff on TH-cam out there
Did my best over the years lol
What are the admission requirements for this degree?
Check the yearbook
Congratulations 🎊 on obtaining your degree.
Matt saying "5,6,7 or 8 years as long you get your degree"😟
Thanks hey
"this degree has given me the confidence and ability to really go out and google anything myself and learn it"
Google is a Tech Nerd's Best friend😂😂😂
ABSOLUTELY
Congratulations bro. Wishing good luck for your future. If we have questions how could we contact you?
