If I'm being honest syndicate was the last game i enjoyed and it was an Assassin's creed game not a knight creed game
Stealth is gone now, i don't feel like an assassin anymore. Assassins are supposed to be stealthy and and blends in with the crowd.
I also miss the Parkour which latest games ignore. Fast hooded, stealthy assassin running from rooftop to rooftop and killings targets within seconds is what supposed to be Assassins's creed

The Sonic the Hedgehog series can't make up its mind if it's set on Earth or another world, and whether Dr Eggman/Robotnik is the only human. Then there's the time Shadow the Hedgehog "died," or how Blaze the Cat was from another universe in Sonic Rush, but in Sonic 2006 she's from the future.

Andromeda makes that quite clear. The Arks leave the Milky Way between the events of ME2 and ME3. By the time they reach Andromeda, what happened in ME3 is already over. In a way, its a branching time line thats not dependent on the players choices of ME3. Its a shame Bioware designed the game as part of a new trilogy rather than a stand alone game though. That was the formula that made ME1 and 2 so great. They stood on their own as a singular stories inside of a bigger world. Andromeda was designed from the start to be a story broken into multiple games. Their own ambition ruined them in a way

Loved all of the ME games and I, too, couldn't understand why Andromeda got shit on so badly. Yes, buggy af, but patched and working great now. The story was genuinely interesting to me as well. Truthfully, I think many ME fans were half-expecting to get a slight time jump and get to experience the old Normandy crew again after "the choice" was made with a continued save file. But when we got a COMPLETELY new story and only miniscule references to the old ME games (and you gotta look for those most of the time), people were just butthurt. The twin thing was kinda weird, but it worked out, and the "father had a historical legacy" aspect was interesting as well. Never read any of the books, but I thoroughly enjoyed Andromeda and hate that it gets so much flak.

    • @justin09756
      @justin09756 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

well yes but actually no. Tiber Septim achieved Chim, a state in TES where you realize that you actually exist within the dream of another being, and instead of simply wiping yourself out of existence because you realize you dont exist, you are so self absorbed you instead decide that you exist and then gain power beyond what even the gods do as the gods exist only withing this dream and do not realize this.
Chim basically lets you control existence with no issue and very little effort. only three individuals in lore are said to have achieved Chim, Vivvec, Tiber Septim, and its suspected that the third is one of the 15 different Manimmarcos that exist in TES because that is a headache on its own.

Halo Reach is actually based on the book "The Fall of Reach" by Eric Nylund
It was a book published in 2001. Game came out 9 years later.
They didn't make new spartans....because the original ones were all selected and kidnapped at around age 5 or 6. They would find the most athletic kids with the best leadership abilities, and abduct them. They replaced them with a clone that would die in a couple of days so that nobody would suspect that the kid was actually kidnapped.
The kids were basically tortured during training and a lot of them did not make it through the process. (that's low key why they were called spartans btw). There was one part where they get put in a tank and it's like subjected to high pressure or something and it ends up deforming a lot of the people. "make or break" type of thing. Those spartans who were disfigured were placed in support roles.
It doesn't make sense lore wise for there to be more spartans. The Fall of Reach already answered the question of "why didn't they just train more spartans"
It's because Spartans are the result of torturing children.

    • @crazybastid3878
      @crazybastid3878 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah, I read that book too. You got some things wrong. Yes, they were kidnapped and replaced with clones, but they lasted longer. Maybe up to a few years. If they'd all died within a few days, it would have been found out pretty quick. They were not tortured during training. It's called training for a reason. Harsh to put kids through that kind of training, certainly. But not torture. Every standing army has the same kind of boot camp and special forces training is a special kind of hell. As Spartans were meant to be the best, their training reflected that. Some were broken and 'retired' to a private facility, but few died. They were, after all, also chosen for being smart. Dumb kids that would make stupid mistakes were not chosen for the program. 'Put in a tank and subjected to high pressure ...' is so full of crap it's depressing. They were given growth hormones and other treatments to enhance the density of their muscles and bones. From my understanding, it was never stated how many died in that process, but it was at least a third. More were deformed and 'retired' as well. The rest went on to enhanced training so they could get used to their new, larger, more muscular and heavier bodies and learn how to best put them to use. Yes, the Spartan II's were kidnapped children. They were not tortured. They were not subjected to experiments. They went through years of hard, grueling training that most grown men would break under. Cruel, yes. All that other shit? No. Also, the majority of Noble Team in Halo: Reach were Spartan III's, with few exceptions. Another note - they did get more Spartans. The III's for example, were 'volunteers' from the ranks of regular or elite troops in the UNSC during the war years. It was a thirty year long war, after all, before the Halo's were discovered. Also the IV's came about after the war, after the Chief was lost at the end of Halo 3. Buck was an ODST in the game of that name and in Halo 5 was a Spartan. Locke was an asset for ONI during the war. Not sure what the rest of Osiris Team was doing, but there were plenty of other Spartans trained after the II's. And let's be clear here. The original Spartan project resulted in every subject dying in truly horrific ways that not even the book authors or game writers or anyone else had the balls to describe, so the Spartan II project was thought out to an insane degree before it was ever even considered as a viable option.
Basically, if you're going to spout facts like that, make sure you get it right. Giving a half assed read of one book a long time ago does not make you an expert on lore. Doing some freaking research on it does.

Andromeda existed as a spin-off, much like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Voyager, and a way to continue (not the story but) the ME universe after Shep's battle against the Reapers. The story wasn't even that bad; humans fed up with political crap and afraid of things to come so fled elsewhere with a band of others. It had some impressive semi-open world gameplay with some intense action and great characters, bugs that were HEAVILY patched (although I pre-ordered the game and all I experienced was Ryder spinning in a circle) and yet people decided to hate it, drive down sales, etc. Well, the company in charge isn't gonna pursue it further because players chose to hate it since day 1.
Hate to say it but I found ME1 to be much less enjoyable with it's repetitive level layout when assaulting bases, good story but boring gameplay. ME2 was a HUGE improvement but sadly we will never see what could've been in ME:A2...

I love that game as well. I think most of the hate came from people who were, let's say, disappointed that they weren't able to play Commander Shepard and find out if they picked the "right" ending. It looks like the next game will resurrect Shepard so we'll see how that goes.

Master Chief was never the last spartan, he just thought he was. He originally believed during the event of the first Halo game that Linda and him were the only surviving spartans of the fall of reach and he also was loosing hope in Linda's survival due to the Pillar of Autumn not having the proper medical equipment to save her. In the First Strike novel which takes place immediately after the events of Halo, Master Chief returns to Reach and gets the remaining spartans out of there and getting Linda some medical attention. I know this a "well actually" post but I did want to correct the error.

in case anyone is curious about the elder scrolls thing, he didn't just "use magic" he became an actual God and transformed Cyrodiil permanently across the entire timeline essentially rewriting history. That's why it makes sense for it to also be that way in the elder scrolls online.

Tiber Septim did this to become Talos and changed Cyrodiil's landscape throughout time. The player character "mantles" Sheogorath in the oblivion DLC "The Shivering Isles" and becomes the God of that realm.

I would have just stopped at the Dranei part on the Warcraft entry. That's probably the single biggest retcon in the history of video games ever. It changed the fate of 3 major factions, fleshed out the universe spanning demon army that has been main antagonists for 4 of the 8 expansions and completely rewrote the backstory behind 2 separate planets.

The heartless have always been described as the stolen hearts of people who fell to fear and darkness since the first game (reason being they were gathering hearts to reach/summon the kingdom of hearts) in the second you see whats created once "you lose your heart", the creation of nobodies (empty carcases). In the games theres many documents explaining everything, although it does get kind of tedious. And the organization XIII aren't all versions of xenahort... only one is, Roxas for example is Sora's nobody (of when he briefly became a heartless) like Axel is the one of Lea...

My love for videogames started thanks to AC and thanks to Ubisoft it also died with AC. I just sincerely wish that the rumors about a reboot are completely false and Valhalla becomes the last nail in the coffin for this beloved franchise of mine

Fun fact about Mass effect 3s ending: it's not the ending that bioware wanted to use.
The original ending sadly didn't happen because of time. And also because EA told bioware to use the ending that we ended up getting, simply because EA didn't like it.
The original plan for the ending was to tell us (Shepherd) why the reapers were killing everyone. And to show/tell the dangers of mass effect fields and how using said fields as much and as long everyone was, would result in the galaxy or even the universe being destroyed.
And saying that the reapers have done this at least 8 times (something like that)

The real problem with the Mass Effect ending was that THEY LIED TO US. Somehow, everyone seems to have forgotten that a MASSIVE part of the ME hype was that A) Your choices carry from one game to the next, and B) ALL of your choices, even from the first game, would impact your ending. The idea of needing a completed playthrough save file of the first two games to take full advantage of the myriad different endings was something that everyone was excited about. It was like getting a super-sized sci-fi Chrono Trigger.
And what did they deliver? None of your choices matter at all in the ending. Choose Option A for red explosions, Option B for blue explosions, and Option C for yellow explosions.

You say they're going to ignore Andromeda but honestly probably not. They STARTED Mass Effect 3 stumbling out of the gate because the VERY FIRST THING they did was dive into how Shepard is in trouble for something they did in a DLC mission in the previous game that most people didn't play. Most people were completely baffled because they virtually don't explain it at all but then that got entirely overshadowed by the ending of the series. Point being it's a super weird decision to make about your mainline story. Imagine if in between Harry Potter 2 & 3 they released a short novella in only a small market where Harry suddenly becomes a werewolf and then three starts with him just rampaging in werewolf form. It's only referenced very briefly in throw away scenes that tell you nothing before eventually fading into irrelevance because we have better things to do.

Kingdom Hearts makes sense if you go through ALL the obscure games, which is kinda difficult as most of the servers went off line. but yeah, lots of subtleties and inferences can be made about what is actually happening without those obscure games anyway. Everyone is X or they are Sora, and Sora is pure of heart, while X is either corrupted or too focused on his desires such that the ends justify the means. Meanwhile Disney.

There were different biomes depending on the surrounding provinces like down by leyawin(or however they spelled it) was swamplands because of black marsh and freezing and tundra like near bruma that borders the jerral mountains of Skyrim. Sure they didn’t have it for all provinces like elswyer being jungles and that’s probably because of what falcon said in technical limits but it was nice with how diverse it was.

The reason why there's the scene with the crash landed Normandy is because if you caused too many squad mates to die then there wouldn't be enough people to help rebuild the ship thereby leaving them stranded, as for the mass relays if your war assets aren't high enough then there won't be enough allied to rebuild the relays, and the machine/organic storyline started all the way back in ME1

The Kingdom Hearts change that actually bothers me is the key blade.
You are lead to believe that Sora has the only one, and that only he can use it. Didn't bother me too much when Riku could use it, he is connected to Sora.
I even remember gasping when it was revealed that King Mickey had a key blade as well, but the way it's revealed and it's coloring lead you to think it's like a 'counterpart' to the one you have.
Then number 2 comes along and suddenly Sore has 2 of them when he unleashes a special power.
I must admit that other than trying Chain of memories, I stopped playing. I saw a commercial for a new one that showed a field full of key blades, and was so annoyed that I lost interest.

The draenei are the Eredar that escaped from their home after Sargeras corrupts everyone. They call themselves draenei wich means exiles.
The draenei from warcraft 3, are the draenei that stayed on draenor ( outland ) and survived the orcs onslaught. They became week and started to call themselves " broken " they tried to survive as best as they could and meet illidan and the Blood elves and start to work with them.
The draenei you play on world of warcraft, are the draenei that fled using the Exodar ( the ship that they used to escape Argus, their homeworld ) from outland just before the enraged orcs being manipulated by kil'jaeden decimated shattrath City. And they crash on azeroth. After they crash, they see that the orcs are there too, but the alliance comes to their aid.

Mass effect Andromeda can be ignored cause it takes place in an entirely different galaxy. You leave prior to the major battle with the reapers and are then in stasis until hundreds of years later meaning any thing they do after ME3 in the Milkyway Galaxy doesn't have to acknowledge Andromeda in any way shape or form if they don't want to. The whole Andromeda initiative was a Cerberus black op initiative that could follow its own unique story line without affecting the continuity of anything that is planned after ME3 in the Milkyway. Just saying...
