This really shows how hard The Beatles worked on different versions of songs until finally reaching the final version we all know and love... I used to think they just sat down and played the version exactly as it was on the record! What an eye-opening experience all these videos on youtube have been for me! I just never realized how experimental they were, and moreover, how much work went into creating the finished product!!! Four genius musicians who together, created a massive part of the soundtrack of our lives! Thank you John, Paul, George and Ringo, for all you sacrificed and all you gave... The world would be a much bleaker place without your music, Beatles era and post Beatles era! I mean, who couldn't love The Travelling Wilburys? And that was George Harrison's baby. It’s different and good, but I like the album version with Spector’s strings and vocals better. But this is certainly a more garage 60’s version I was craving!

I wish they'd worked up a tight band version for the rooftop with Billy on keys. I like the wah guitar, and the Chuck Berry rhythm on the first verse is an interesting idea too.
So incredible how this early version is so rock n roll and classic wonky beatles, and interestingly the time is kind of irregular, the electric guitars and all feel like something they'd add later on the evolution of the song... but it's very interesting to think it evolved into something more minimal but SO much more atmospheric and timelessly beautiful. Or maybe I'm wrong or this is just them jamming on the chord progression.
