An brief insight into the comic craft of Phyllis Diller (July 17 1917 - August 20 2012), bless her soul :- “I will regret my death; I know that” and she laughs before nailing the landing. “I know I’m going to miss me.”
I almost prefer the fact that she is a little less swift in her delivery setup here. It's got a more adlib vibe which adds even more to the usual Diller experience.
She was 75 years old when this aired and she was about 95 when she died. You get a little slower when you get older, touring around takes a lot out of you too.
Just found this: funny, funny jewel of a comic! Saw her live-it’s a treasured memory. Deserves every accolade.
Funniest woman who ever lived, I'd love to tell jokes like her, my favorite comedian next to Lucy

She was such a natural. I idolized her as a comic.

In today’s social climate I wonder how many would cancel Phyllis Diller over her social commentary?
Some facelifts (like darling Phyllis) are like angel food cake. They fall flat. harhahr lol.
wow she is not right in this recording ... usually so quick and funny. Not here. Poor gal !

Oh yes of course. She was so great !
I've stolen half her lines, lol
The poor gal is you! So sad you can’t appreciate such a talented woman.
I'd pay hard earned cash just to watch her prepare for a show. Slow, young, old and fast.....its all relative to listening to an icon like her.
