Listening to this brilliance, it is very apparent that Joan Rivers borrowed a LOT of material from Phyllis Diller.

Not correct. Joan was a writer.. just like Phyllis was. Wrote her own stuff.. .and a completely different style of comedy.

@@Gods2ndFavoriteBassPlyr Although they came up around the same time, Phyllis was 16 yrs.older and more established in the biz. Yes Joan was a renowned comedy writer and brilliant comedienne, they told literally some of the same jokes (verbatim). As much as I loved Joan, I gotta go with Phil. In those days, you could get away with it.

Hello, I am doing a research on Phyllis Diller and I would greatly appreciate your help.
Do you know what year she performed this stand-up? Any details about this performance?
    Thank you!

I am also researching Phyllis Diller, and am fascinated by her career and what a kind, beautiful person she was. In 1985, she met Robert P Hastings, a man she deemed "the love of my life". During this time, Phyllis was booking performances with many of the top cruise lines. She continued to perform on cruises until May of 1996. Robert was supposed to accompany her but had suffered a series of strokes. He collapsed at the airport and was taken home, where he died on his 86th birthday, May 23, 1996. Phyllis had no choice but to fly out for the cruise booking and received the news of Robert's death just before her performance. It was the last cruise show she ever did. Eleven years doesn't narrow the time of this particular performance, I realize, but it is the time period that Phyllis Diller performed on cruises.

I'm gonna guess 90's? She jokes about Michael Jackson turned white and not laying a glove on that boy, LMAO! That was in the early 90's.
BTW, my Dad worked the house band @ Westbury Music Fair out in Westbury, LI in the early 70's and Phyllis was a regular on the circuit at the time.

When she mentioned how Fang was the dumbest man alive and telling him “Look at the dead bird. . . He looked up” I immediately visualized Trump wearing a DUNCE Cone on his head & sitting on a wooden chair in the corner.

What a completely mindless and disconnected comment. SERIOUSLY? Are you so completely consumed by the guy, you chose a Phyllis Diller clip to drag his name into it?
