I’m a carpenter and have a LWB crew cab van. I’m thinking of taking this idea and using it as a type of van racking. I could imagine it as Light weight and very neat looking. I hate tools in boxes they just take up so much space and always hard to find. Be really good to see you do this as a van rack and really open up your market clientele. Feel free to experiment on my van for one of your videos 😉
Brilliant, I have a couple of ideas of how best to do it and including LED cob strip lighting to act as a bit of a feature I’ll send you a video / photos when I get round to it around work, in the next few weeks I think.
Might be helpful to put the exact materials and sizes you used in the description, looks good though and I am planning one soon, could i get away with the hand tool wall size but for a circular saw?
I’m a dewalt guy. I really like your box design . My box is horizontal and has cubbies for each tool . This idea saves a lot more room than the way I’ve done mine. The only problem I see with your design is that if I put in a trailer they would fall out while driving but perfect for shop.
If you lay the panel down flat, they wouldn’t fall out, also if you cut them in flush, the foam should hold them tight! Would love to see your setup mate
Nice wall set up, I would love to see same kind of wall for Bosch tools. I own few tools and most of those are milwaukee tools but i also have some DeWalt, Ryobi tools. My father has Bosch Blue series tools and Makita tools.
My brand of choice is Makita. It started because a few of my friends already happened to have a few Makita tools. Then we agreed to use the same brand and compatible accessories. Now we don't need to have the same tool each, we can borrow from each other.
I got a different strategy. You know how you can only change the whole foam insert at once, so to stay a little more modular it would make sense to divide the foam insert into smaller portions. To be able to swap those out if you are not happy. I chose the standard Euro Box inner size as the frame size (ca. 600x400mm). Which means, I can take it off the tool wall and place it inside the standard collapsible Euro Box container, which is a makeshift toolbox (for RV and so on) and helps me when I need to move. Also grouping the tools in like "woodworking" group and "metal working" group etc. per frame. I will see soon how that works out. Plus my whole system is based on that standard industrial quality boxes which means my drawer sizes and so on. ""Modularity"".
You can use a router to ligthen the box and cut out a lip around it for the foam to grab. Personally 18mm solid wood is too heacy I would probably use aluminium profiles or a solid wood frame with thinner 6mm plywood outer skin or something like that.
I would like to see Makita XGT series ..... one question or concern as these heavy tools not falling out ..or what is after a certain time does the foam Stay strong not getting tired ?
What would happen if your jigsaw packs up next week and you replace it with a new brushless model, but, it's a slightly different shape? Can you demonstrate how you could alter the cut out to fit the new jigsaw without having to replace the whole thing, in one of your future video's? I presume you'd be able to cut it out and insert a replacement section?
Hi, Great Video's, Keep them coming :) I'm Makita fan, I have given them some rough treatment been in the Agri sector, Rain/grit/oil same goes with the Halford Advanced tools . I'm looking at some of your inserts for my van to store my 1/2 " impact dugger duggers. :)
Hi Jonathan. Another great video. Was a Dewalt user and still am as I have a good selection but I’ve been converted from the Yellow and Black to Festool. Any future purchase of new or replacements will be from the Green and Black.
I mostly use both DeWalt and kielder tools as i have used them quit abit so i just stick with what i have used before insted of look to try others but i might try Makita or some others at some point
Love seeing the DeWALT systems you do! DeWALT is my tool of choice. The Yellow & Black not only POP, they're also the colors of my sorted Hogwarts House. 😮 LOL. Swear it's only a coincidence. Or IS IT?!? 😎 (Nerd party of one, my table's ready.) I have a pretty big selection of Brushless Cordless DW tools. Debating whether to go mobile storage or wall storage in a new Lifetime Shed or Trailer Shop. I'm heading to London on the 7th to pick up an earlier than U.S. book release. Is there a home diy store I can see your Shadowfoam products in person? It would be so cool if you eventually had a USA cutting & distrubition center. Any chance your Pro Cutting Kits or Anti-Cut Gloves will come in Yellow & Black to match my soon to be DeWALT Tool Shed/Storage? A bit matchy-matchy, but I think it would look really cool! 😎 (Even my emoji's are Yellow & Black. Ha!) Keep up the cool videos! Look forward to them!
Sealey sell our products, but you could get them direct from us through an Amazon locker in the UK. No word on yellow gloves yet but may add them because I see what you’re saying about matching the brands! Should have US distribution sorted soon, hope to make some announcements in the new year!
Had a load of dewalt tools and made the frame with skil tools 😂. Looks really good 👍🏻
My Dewalt tools weren’t organised or else I would’ve used them! 😂
@@ShadowFoam😂
Well, he needed the skills to build the cabinet!
Yeh ok, only joke I could think off
@@AJB2K3 😂😂😂
My thoughts exactly, used Skil junk to build a DeWalt box. Nice build tho, I need to do this for mine too.
Your walls are always epic! Great work!
DeWalt all day! Can you build an organizer box using some corded tools? Curious how all the power cords would nest into the foam.

Really enjoyed your build. Great job!
Thanks a bunch! What would you like to see me cover next?
New subscriber here. Came over from True Blue Travellers. My personal choice is team Milwaukee. Keen DIYer, not trade.
We might have a Milwaukee wall coming soon 👀
Looks epic! Can't wait to see the new workshop develop
Thanks mate, me too! We have some great ideas for it! What would you like to see?
@@ShadowFoam I'm easy really, just along as everything is organised. Has a place and looks mega. That's all the content I need
Great teaser. I’ll be waiting. BTW I’m a Dewalt guy. So I was excited to watch this build. Thanks 🙏
Then you’ll love next weeks build! 👍
Really nice build 👍👍
Thanks Richard, are you a Dewalt man?
Do you have a dewalt 18v grinder and multi tool insert for a tstak case

Been asked a lot to do videos with hikoki, I’ve got something in the pipeline 👍
Hello, we use hikoki, hitachi tools in our workshop

Our foam is dense and engineered to stay strong and grip heavy tools as long as they aren’t cut in too tight
