I read Maryellen’s book and can confirm, yes she did indeed cut her own bangs and they did not turn out well. So maybe that’s why they used the weird bangs in her design.

I only have Molly and Courtney. I know most people didn’t like Courtney. But, I love Courtney and her collection. Love Molly and glad she came back. I wish I had Claudie. I like Julie. But, her current collection is more late 60’s/early 70’s. I was almost her age, and dressed very differently. I love Melody, Addy and Samantha. I wish I owned them. I just don’t have the room.
Aw, poor Molly! (She's my S as my childhood doll.) I noticed you mentioning the books and I hope American Girl will bring back the six book series for old characters, and expand and redo the newer books to be six book series following the old format (paintings, vignettes, "Looking Back"). It's wishful thinking, but I can't help it! The format was just magical, and helped me feel connected to the characters when I was younger.
I pretty much agree with your whole listing except I would have switched Molly and ruthie and kit and Emily would switch tiers too. Mmm.... I might not have put ivy at the top, maybe A tier for her. Idk. But the rest of S tier is exactly what I would have done. Addy, Felicity and Kaya are my top favorites ever.

My favorite doll is my Maryellen doll .I changed her name to Sue because she looks like my little sister Sue when she was 10.My other two favorite are my Kit doll that name Donna after my older sister,and Kaya that I call Tricket that was my childhood nickname but while Maryellen and Kit look like m sisters .Kaya way prettier then me.😅
