FSU has new untested QB. You're dreaming if you think they'll be better than last year
Dream a little dream with me. We have a “tested” QB, but admittedly in a new system. With the exception of the LSU game, JT took a step back in 2023 and our defense is what got us through most of those games. We don’t have a number one wide receiver, but our number two through five wide receivers are better than last year. If, and it’s a big if, DJ, you can grasp Mike’s offense quickly, the offense has a very reasonable chance of exceeding last year’s standards. A defense should be a small step back, but our new defensive ends are going to pick up right where Jared verse left off.
@@dougrohan6746 UGA didn't quite get there last year, new QB (albeit harder league) ... but that's how these things go w new QBs, in general
Not top Five with DJ. DJ has the same problems he had at Clemson. He is not elite.
You mean the QB coach(LOL) ,OC and Dumbo were not elite. How bad does a coaching staff have to be that tries to destroy the #1 QB prospect in the nation?
I watched DJ last year at Oregon St. He did not improve any from the previous seasons. His stats are mirror images. DJ has the skills to be Elite. His problems appear to be mental. He struggles with pre-snap reads. He struggles with pocket presence and sensing pressure. Now Clemson did not have a great Oline and that hurt. DJ just hasn’t proven he can put a team on his back and win the big games.
He is the last quarterback to beat Florida State in the regular season. He showed out pretty well in that game..
Doug. I love your coverage of the lawsuits great job. I watched all of DJs games at Clemson. I was curious if year 3 the lightbulb would come on. He looked no different. He struggles reading coverage and loses pocket presence. He struggles mightly against elite defenses. He is an above average Qb but he is no Jordan Travis or Trevor Lawrence. He should win 9-11 games but not a natty.
I’m definitely looking for 11 wins at least. I agree a natty is unlikely, but I thought that last year as well. Winning a natty takes skill and injury luck. We’ll see what the staff can do with him.
