Heathcliff should have promised her that he’d go out and make his fortune and return to her. Instead he just left without saying a word. Then he comes back to torment her after she’s married. He’s the worst. That’s not even love…it’s more like sick obsession.

Cathy and Heathcliff are both awful. Cathy should have let Heathcliff go and given that love to her genuinely faithfully loving husband Edgar.
