The story is also told from Nellie's point of view, and she implies the two were lovers, even though she hasn't been to all of their little rendezvous. She recalls their love as very passionate, so they must have had some physical contact like kissing. Nellie just didn't see it because she has nothing to do with their relationship in that aspect.
I call you not thinking outside the book. This is a modern version of a Victorian classic. Do you really think that Tom Hardy would ever be a sickly type love interest in a tv show,, yeah this is TV and you read the book too. Well done for realising that serious based on old books have to modern up to the times to get anyone interested.
You could write the next TV serious and keep it to the book. don't think it would be hit by modern women. Tom Hardy is sex.. we should have had a bit of sex and really spiced it up. The kiss was hot. Shame he didn't rip her clothes on the moors.. 21 century Cathy and Heathclift. would be a best seller in a film with you actors.
Movies always twist the actual Novel.... In the story there were no kiss between cathy and heathcliffe except when heathcliffe comes to visit cathy when she was ill..

Theyre a good match as Cathy and Heathcliff though in real life Tom is very different from Heathcliff and Charlotte is full of energy like Cathy
