Well done! You did have me worried for a second though. Because of the camera angle (saw blade blocking the view of the start of the cut) it looked like you aligned the TOP of the slitting saw blade with your lower mark on the barrel shank, which would have resulted in cut that was too low. Glad to see you didn't fall into that little trap. :-)
Depends, similar method but I use a woodruff cutter now. If you want a true stock 1914 breach end you need to cut a radiused recess to allow for the bolt nose clearance of the left lug. You can grind them down and just make the extractor cut as well. The P14 cut is narrower but cuts forward towards the shoulder.
This is one way to do it. Most guys usually use what is called a woodruff cutter. Normally used to cut woodruff keyways into shafts. Some of the older Winchester Model 70's required a concave radius woodruff cutter as well.
Nice work!

Very nice work.
Thanks
If I needed this done by you, how much would it cost? Also front side cuts? 😬
SUPER AWESOME !!

What's your method for a p14 extractor cut?

Always wondered how you made that cut

I understand I'm a little slow in asking this but I did not see you using any cutting oil, is this because of slow cutting speed.
Mainly because I was doing it for video and it's much easier to see.
are you the tactical keychain guy? You sound quite like him
No, sorry. Not me.
Way too much chatter.
That wasn't chatter, it was the cutter being off center and only cutting on a handful of teeth on the cutter.
