Do like Lode mining or Placer mining. Let us know if you find the Chinese Drift mine we were talking about up at Osceola and if you want to see what that looks like , watch this video th-cam.com/video/jmremdUg1hQ/w-d-xo.html and smash that like button ....SMASH it HARD !!!!!
I prefer placer mining. Lode mining is a lot more work, by far. I have lode and placer deposits on my claims. I only mess with the placer deposits. Good gold hunting! Take care.
I know of at least 2 mines near Oracle AZ. At one time there must have been a large group there definite signs of Chinese, nails everywhere; must have had a large fire. I found a very old Chinese vase and another important clue--broken perfume bottles.
When i worked for ERI outside of Searchlight, we found an old Chinese dig. Complete with skeleton of him and his tools and gun. Had been covered up for years. A big flood came along,a real gully washer, and exposed his old camp. Was so cool. The old guy finally got a proper burial.
That small-scale model you did of a creek was brilliant. I'll never forget it. Thanks again for all you do and the positivity you bring to this world. We need it
Osceola. My heart. 90s bob osland owned the big claim I was a 30 yr old green horn nuggets in his tromel as big as his hand. I did not touch I felt honored. He told me they had just ran everything above the road that cut his claim in half. Go work the road. I found a handful of big clunkers the biggest was 32 grams I showed them to bob. Expecting him to take them. He smiled. Do you have the fever ? He asked. Bob was a good guy. Stayed in a camper in the old townsite. He was 50 then. If he's alive he'd be 90. I'll see him again. Good folks have a place on God's creek in heaven. I hope i make it. Osceola. Jeff I never thought you'd give up the honey hole. That's why in my earlier chats 3 years ago and before I always refered to it as the big 0. The largest nugget ever in Nevada history came from there. 86 pounds. It was immediately melted and I've been in those Chinese mines. Immaculate to this day cleaned floors like it's concrete stacked rocks like a rock wall. Precision. Not like us. Race though things with excavators anyway i lit up when you said the big O⁵
Hi Rick , we knew you would like that ...... we know Bob and have worked some of his claims .... good times my brother and thanks for sharing ....we have also worked with Lynn up there on Bobs claim and have found massive Gold as well ...... there are so many Chinese drift mines up there you can't count them all ...I remember that 86 pound nugget ....stuff dreams are made of ....
Thanks for sharing your story with us. It's stories like that, that explain a lot about folks like Jeff and Pops. Good people who love the hunt as much as finding the pay streak and don't mind sharing their knowledge with green horns.
@beepseatsfindingfoodtreasu8756 I was lucky. We didn't have you tube back then. But old timers took me with them. Stay humble be appreciative of the knowledge your being given. Respect the land. Remember karma is like Kahn's wrath. It's a terrible thing to be following you. Times are different now. Way more people. And government restrictions. Why government restrictions you ask. Because some dummy ruined it for all of us. Respect the land and know it can kill you and your momma isn't there to pick up your trash. Good luck out there and Jeff is giving free classes every week. And he's not like any other channel. Everything that he and his beautiful wife lila get they give it all away. All of it. And boocoo other stuff. Nobody does that. So enjoy your ride. It's golden
That creek model you created was really cool Jeff. I always enjoy watching your channel n seeing your high energy. Thanks for this medicine to help cure my gold fever 🤒 👍💪👊⚒️⚒️
Jeff I have to say u sir r one of modern day best prospector n miner I have ever seen,I live about 15 miles from dahlonega ga n I thank u for all teachings..hope u find the motherlode cause of anyone can it will b u.
Wow! all are some great and easy idea's to get that shinny...Really like that you show the area of surrounding veins and the cleaning out the cracks...thks again Jeff. Happy Thanks Giving
Thanks for having an outdoor classroom experiment again. Sharing all this knowledge makes richer prospectors . Why isn’t Slim in any of your school videos 😊. Hi Lila 😊
Wish you could give me a crash course on dry washing. I found plenty of videos but I just never done it. Been dredging and using wet systems for years ,but my new claim is dry and rich. Worth learning how to dry mine
Most of the stuff around Osceola is so deep you can't detect it well. Still, I know one guy who used to live in Ely, he had luck detecting since he knew the lay of the land well and was out there for years. Still one of the more challenging places in NV to come up with detected gold.
I really enjoy these 'exploring old mines' videos Jeff. Plenty of old diggings here in Australia and these Chinese drifts are the spookiest and most fun 😊
@@Askjeffwilliams I wonder if a largemouth bass would appreciate them, I'll take a dozen, if you dig I'm up! Lol! Put 'em in a bag of that pay dirt! Lol! 🤣
Mr. Jeff Williams... you are so extremely fun to watch and have all the great insights on prospecting... might sound like a broken record but I don't care about all that... lol... so I am an old timer and have been digging super rare old bottles forever but recently gave it up because of major abuse on my body... lol... can't sit around and do nothing when there's treasure out there... lol... so I've been homeless for the last seven months but it's okay because I'm healing and trying to find a fun new direction... made it to Florida now and loving it but would love to experience your madness of finding shiny nuggets for first time... so would you ever require an extra hand to help you get to the mother lode in any way... I'm still super strong and very capable of handling any project??
How about a brecciated zone between the hanging walls and vein the replacement or deposit is quartz in a green schist type material. I wish you could see this Jeff.
Thanks for another awesome video! Was thinking about coming to Nevada for a vacation and to look for nuggets. Just have to figure out how to get my metal detector on the airplane, lol.
Hey Jeff, I bought a home in Sugar Hill, Georgia and the subdivision was once prospected for gold in the 1800's. I was told by a local who used to live in my area and she tells me it could be a mine in my backyard that had been buried. My backyard has a lot of large divots but one in particular seems to get deeper over the years. Could it be one of those Chinese mine such as the one you're showing on this episode? I've considered digging but am afraid I'll fall in.🤔
Ok Dan Hurd's video is done now on to Jeff's. Wish you guys could put them out at different times. Would make it nice to have a gold video morning one after an other. Dan's live chat is so cool, nice to talk to the group and Dan too. Ever think about doing a live chat on video premiers Jeff?
Hey Jeff I know you always "keep your nose in the wind, and your eyes along the skyline" Del Gue, do you ever come across crystals (besides gypsum) quarts, amethyst?
I have a shop vacuum with a hose similar to the one you are using in this video. The hose develops a respectable static charge that keeps you on your toes around saw dust. Sparks, you know. Anyway, do you wash that hose out later? If the dry washer mat uses static electricity, it makes me wonder if something similar isn't happening in the hose as well.
Awesome video! Do you have an estimate of how many ounces of gold you have found in your whole lifetime? Cause it sure seems like there’s some good gold wherever you are!
Q. Gold in crystal and Tin mines at Torrington NSW? . I think I'm seeing flakes and pickers when I chip at my Crystal seàm. I hear it's usually lower and not in crystal layers. ? Should I check all crystal seams for gold contact zones .am I missing riches in gold for all my hard digging?
How can I get printed USGS maps of my local area? I have found on the USGS site the GAM19 SantaAna 1965 map which looks like it has a LOT of useful data. But having it in hand held map/book form would be useful for my explorations.
You are such a crack-up, I love it. Great episode, I really needed this science class😊 I need to get my Keene dry washer out. I had it for two years and haven’t used it once. Jonathan is really good using it in Gold Canyon. Gaiters maker great dust masks, and it protects my neck from the sun and slows up the turkey neck process 🤣🤣 Take care hero.
Has Jonathan had any luck finding gold out there? I'm on the other side in AJ. I found really good specimens by my place but I haven't had enough $$ to get a dry washer or rock crusher to process my samples.
@ Hi, yes, Jonathan and I have always gotten gold there. Jonathan runs his material through the dry wash into a gold pan, then runs it through the dry wash again. I will take samples of the double run tailings and pan it out to see if we missed anything. I have never gotten enough shiny to make an effort to go through the double run tailings. Which for us lays to rest that the dry wash loses up to 30% of gold. I normally run the electric jack hammer off a generator while Jonathan feeds the dry wash. As for the dry wash and rock crusher, it’s worth every effort to save, work extra hours, sell things etc. to get these tools to enhance your prospecting and mining and of course a Gold Monster 1000. We also use a Bauer cordless shop vac for crevices. Enjoy and live the dream 💪🏻
Glad i have titanium underpants and i watch your video which is awesome Jeff...my 3rd pair of pants blew straight to the Kuiperbelt in space...now the greys 👽will go after them! Greetings from the Netherlands Jeff and Lila 🎉😂

11:32 I don't get it. You don't test what you are throwing away. If there's multiple targets in that scoop, your method may lose all but 1. Tip some into your hand, float hand over detector, toss if no sound. Everything is then in the scoop.

i would prefer to placer because of being able to be outside rather than being cooped up.
