Adrian handled the equipment malfunction with perfect professionalism and dignity. Immediately upon realizing that it wasn't going to get resolved, he stepped off stage to allow the musicians onstage to take focus. Steve stepped up and delivered an incredible performance, and Danny and Tony stayed completely locked in as the rhythm section without missing a beat. This was probably the greatest assemblage of musicians onstage together that I have personally gotten to witness. They were all tuned in, listening and responding to each other, and they delivered a tremendous performance that was present and immediate and worked *now*, and not just as a performance of songs written 30+ years ago.
So disappointing. This was the song I was most looking forward to that night, even after seeing Vai widdling all over it in videos shared online. He just isn't suited for this song, and for the most part that middle solo is absolutely garish and incongruous. I wish they had encored with another attempt.

Too bad Adrian was having so much trouble with his gear both in LTIA3 and this, but Steve stepped up and delivered!
It didn't really detract much from the show, there's so much stuff going on sonically that it still was fine.
