    Coming from a guitar player, I had zero learning curve with the LinnStrument. Very intuitive. And actually it helps reinforce you fretboard knowledge on the actual guitar.

    This is great and to the point! I'd love to see a series of more in depth tutorials for beginners who maybe have very little experience actually playing any instrument. I think the Linnstrument would be a fantastic instrument for novices to pick up as their first instrument, but also think it can be daunting when there is an implied familiarity with instruments like pianos or guitars, and maybe the lack of this context could scare novices away.

    Hey, I just happened stumbled upon your channel while looking up instruments ppl can play with one hand! I’m a producer, born with one hand and do almost everything thru my DAW’s piano roll. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play an instrument but sadly can’t play most of them due to frustration😔 this would be a perfect instrument for me to learn to play thru midi! I hope to save up for one of these someday!☺️ amazing product you have! Keep up the work!:)

      Thanks for your interest in LinnStrument. Are you aware that I offer a 20% discount for musicians with a physical disability that impedes their ability to play a traditional instrument? Go to rogerlinndesign.com and click WHERE TO BUY > DISCOUNTS. Note that in 2015, LinnStrument won the Best Playable Instrument award from the UK’s One Handed Musical Instrument Trust.

    This reminds me of the default note layout on the Novation Launchpad.

    hi Mr. Linn, I'm Sudan Wallace from East St louis I love your instrument I hate how Akai trying to cut you out when if it wasn't for you, it wouldn't be a mpc I was hoping I can help you get back to the forefront of the hip hop/rap game by showing off your gear I believe it's the future of music production.

    Are all these slides and vibrato captured in MIDI if we use this to write music in a DAW? Also, can you tap the pads to make MIDI for drums, for example in Cubase’s Drum Editor? I’m looking for multiple solutions from a “pad” style controller alongside my regular keyboard controller.

      Yes, LinnStrument sends standard MIDI. The pitch slides use standard MIDI Pitch Bend messages. And yes, you can use the pads for finger drumming. Here are two examples:

      @@rogerlinndesign Fantastic, I might have to pick one of these up. I really appreciate that there are people out there building high-quality, well engineered, tools. Reading up on it today, this seems smartly thought out!

    This is a great video.. thanks for sharing. What instrument VST are you playing?

    • @rogerlinndesign
      @rogerlinndesign  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks, Darrin. It’s not a VST or AU but rather a sampled guitar sound from from the sample library in Apple’s Logic or MainStage for Mac. It’s one of a collection of sounds optimized for LinnStrument from my free Logic or MainStage file of sounds for LinnStrument that can be downloaded from my site.

    Thanks for the video.
    I think you showed us a Dorian scale instead of a minor scale.

    • @rogerlinndesign

      I also showed a major scale instead of an Ionian. Please forgive me for making a video intended for amateur musicians. I promise to make another video for musicologists in future.

      Dorian has the minor third, so it _is_ a minor scale.
      If you’d said _“the_ minor scale”, I’d begrudgingly accept that as a byword for aeolian. But from one recreational pedant to another, you said _a minor scale._ Of which dorian is one.
      If you’re going to engage in modal pedantry, at least get it right! 😉
