@@CharlieLongGuitar I sent you an email. Amazing how the teachers who teach the right way get about 20,000 subscribers but the shortcut hacks get 100"s of thousands. I wasted many good years of practice time on the shortcut hacks to nowhere! Thank you Charlie :)
Great instructional video on Triads. I have been playing for a long time and I have watched many videos to improve my skills. For me the Triad video is amazing. One question; why is your chart of the neck and the notes being played opposite to what we see when you are playing?
Thanks for the kind words! The diagrams are standard fretboard diagrams and are oriented to how the guitar neck is positioned for the player - that’s what it would look like if you had them on a music stand in front of you and I was sitting in a chair opposite you. Rock on! 🎶🎸🔥
This was absolutely wild. I had been putting off tryouts for so long and then I learned about spread triad and I took two of them very well and then I figured I’d look back and try to figure out the closed voicing triad, and there was so much more in this video that I could have imagined, it’s encouraging, but I also realize how far behind I am in my learning process
At 66 that gives me enuf material Charlie for the rest of my life. Gotta go and get ready for the circus of 7 gkids at Easter. All the best and world class lesson. Thanks
I like stuff like this theory does certainly help ur playing I have a lot of friends who are great players and don’t k ow wat they are playing .. triads are a key component.. thanks my man Brian Ireland 🇮🇪🎸🎸happy Easter my man take care
This is great, Charlie! I wish I could remember all of this at one time...but I will just peck away and slowly keep getting better while saying "ah ha!". For me, the Another Brick song is a great way to get introduced to the application of triads. 🤘🎶🎸👏
Hey Charlie, there is a ton in this Great lesson, was wondering if you have recommendations, or if you have a Course on Triads? This is where a lot of color and feel starts to enhance our playing. BTW, know Caged and scales, but struggle implementing Triads and their arpeggiations. Seems this lesson could be stretched into a great Course!
I didn't watch all the way through yet, but he just said we gotta map out all these triad shapes in every string in every key. Is guitar really all about memorization? I'm already trying to memorize the fretboard and the scales, this just seems like too much, i thought it would be more intuitive...
Let me try to give you a couple of analogies….have you ever studied a martial art? You don’t go in and start moving like a warrior on day 1….its drills…small movements…forms…memorization… for a long, long time. How about golf? Fundamentals like grip, aim, stance…the pros on TV are still working on that stuff. Tiny changes in movements. Adjusting to every club…and then there are all the short game techniques that have to be learned and constantly practiced. None of it is “intuitive” and what feels intuitive is usually wrong. The learning curve at the beginning of an activity is always the steepest- but you learn this stuff so that down the road people watch you play and say “you’re a natural!!” It all depends on how good you want to be…you don’t have to learn all this stuff but if you don’t there will come a time when you’re playing with other people and they start a song in a key you’re not familiar with…its not a good feeling! I wish you all the best with your playing!! 🎸🎶🔥🎶🎸
Yes it is, when you are familiar some shapes what you need, it is good To know it but it not comes right now, you need To work it To get familiar those shapes.
You are very good teacher , keep it going dude heh. I dont know why you dont get much more subcribers , maybe because you doing your own name I guess I dont know why , maybe they dont want To you get rich some way. I dont know why the bad teacher have so much subcribers. It is shame.
I have just come across this channel yesterday and watched a couple of videos. Idk probably it's a newer channel compared to other ones out there (i haven'tcheckedwhen this channel was started with all these videos. But what I think at this point is, he is definitely a good teacher all around and surely he will get a good number of subscribers and followers but the process is slow. Not everybody plays guitar or can stick to it throughout the unending journey. Best of luck to Charlie!
Relating triads to actual songs is the most helpful. Thanks
One of best teachers online there is!
Thanks so much!! Rock on!!! 🎸🎶🔥🎸

Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Always good to hear from Ireland - my grandmother from County Kerry would be happy!
Awesome! Thank you and happy Easter! 🙏🕊️
Thanks for commenting and Happy Easter! 🐰🐇 🎸🎶🔥
Charlie, what I gather is that with both the arppegios and triads, we must also learn the inversions to become fluent.
I think that’s dead on. For both rhythm and lead playing! That fluency leads to creative flow and confidence
Just to let you know. Because of you I bought an electric guitar! Can’t wait to be like Charlie Long.
Hey Charlie, me again. That was your best so far, IMO. I'm getting there with your help!
Love it!!! Keep it up!! 🎸🎶🔥
Hi Charlie,
Another great lesson.
Do you have a video on Triads + 1?
Cheers
