Beautiful change of pace rendition, love the more funky feel. And Eric, Wayne and Louis? It don't get no better than that!
The high F to D to Bb to G lick had me feeling chills. For trumpet players that's G to E to C to A.
I have been a Maynard fan since 1970. Amazing and keep it going!
I absolutely love this version, extreme talent going on, retired trumpet player here, Maynard was and still is my hero of the trumpet I'm also a huge fan of Eric and Wayne. Also....Senri - such a powerful drummer.

A great song originally performed by a true legend of big band and trumpet. A combination that is hard to improve on but I think you all did. Wayne, Eric, Louis and of course Senri! Plus all the others, a true ALL STAR band. Thanks for this fantastic arrangement and performance.
I'm a trumpet player but the drummer got my attention big time. Absolutely marvelous interpretation of an almost 50 year old oldie of Maynard Ferguson.
Senri is the bomb and love this new half time approach to start and then to cut time.

Really nice adaptation to Give it One. Very fresh change to a standard that needed a updated boost. Really nice accompaniment sections, they’ve got some meat written in there.

Eric, my daughter has been living in Japan for the last 3 years. We're hoping to finally get to visit her in March. Maybe I can come see you play - not sure if you remember me. Listen, i don't think anyone can beat the original recorded version that Maynard did with his British band. But this arrangement (re-imagining) and performance is outstanding. The 2 soloists are great....I love the way Eric snuck in Maynard licks and solo quotes. And the drummer rocks! I listened to this more than a few times. So much better that Maynard's so called coked-up video where they were trying to get it over in 2 minutes! That's a march to hell.....😂

I disagree. I like it at the tempo of this group. A Russian group did it well a few years ago (can't remember their names) but it was too slow. The album that Maynard did with this song on it (again, can't remember the name) was also at a fantastic tempo. Maynard is the reason I pushed myself into the upper registers when I was young. I now play on Lynn Nicholson's personal mouthpiece and it has put me exactly where I want to be in terms of range.

Virtuosic but a bit soul-less compared to the original - my favorite Maynard track which I used to play to get me out of bed in college.
I think some parts are just too clean ( probably just Mr Burgeron’s solo style no disrespect), the overall tempo feels a little slow just for what this song is supposed to embody, overall still a master piece nonetheless just my personal thoughts in comparison with the original and how in your face it was as compared to this, which is a lot more gradual
Tempo is definitely slower than the original recording
I feel you , very clinical , sterile sound .These aint no Philly cats .But still all great players ,you can't take that away from them .
