First time I ever heard this song was live in Detroit (1984) although it was realeased in 1978.I was completely blown away for days afterward they have been my favorite since. The next song they did was Sinner(also a first time hearing that). It was a great show! They have been around 50 years and have a new Album coming in 2021.Anything I could recommend is gold in my opinion so you can never go wrong with Victim of Changes
Oh how Judas Priest takes me back to my school days! To this day, I turn it up loud when I hear one of their songs on the radio. I have seen them a few times in concert and they sure know how to put on a killer show. I never left disappointed; just with ringing in my ears...lol! Love Rob Halford's vocal range. One of the best heavy metal singers of my time! Most people might not know that he actually enjoys listening to classical music in his spare time. Great choice of song and video. You're finally back with some classic heavy metal. I love Judas Priest, the power, the passion and the musicianship, bringing that to the table for more than four decades is incredible. I also think that they are bridging the gap between classic rock and heavy metal, not only because of that they're such an important band in today's music. Victim of Changes absolutely has to be the next song by them for you, that's probably their most epic song. But of course they have much more fascinating and great stuff to check out. Diamonds and Rust, You've Got Another Thing Coming, Electric Eye, Desert Plains, The Sentinel, Exciter, Some Heads Are Gonna Roll amongst others.
Hi girls, this is a great song. the singer, Rob Halford, lives in Paridise Valley in my home state of Arizona and I've been lucky enough to meet him a few times
There is simply nothing like having seen the Priest play this live back in their prime when both Tipton and Downing were still their lead guitarists!!! Although they still kick ass on stage today.

The High Priest of Rock n Roll in my opinion the greatest Heavy Metal Band of all time and this song is going to played at my funeral I saw them about 15 times since the 70sthey never disappointed me
Wow - you guys totally get it! All your observations are so astute. Couldn't have said any of it better myself - and I've been listening to this song for years and years. A++! P.S. The studio version is so iconic - I love it so much more.
P.P.S. I see not many people replied to your request for a lyrical analysis, so here's mine: the protagonist has given himself paralysis due to the over-use of recreational chemicals - he is aware of everything, but unable to communicate. Somehow he has communication with others in his situation - or is it all in his mind? Some also say this is Rob Halford's thinly-veiled attempt to communicate that he is gay, but while paralyzed with guilt and shame. He came out of the closet decades after this song was recorded on the album Stained Class [my favorite JP album].
I’m consistently surprised how easily you guys get and feel so many of these classic rock and metal songs at your age. You are both really tuned into music. Love it.

I saw them in 78 on the Stained Class tour and a few times after that. One time at Newcastle Mayfair with a young Iron Maiden as support. Now that was a good night
@@paulwhite7972 Nice, I had Stained Class on cassette when I was in the Army, and when I would lay down to rest I would play it on repeat and it drove my bunkmates crazy, lol. I would have loved to see them at that time or even the tour for Hell bent for Leather, just a couple of year's before my time, but not by much
The guitar solo, is by the incomparable Glenn Tipton (always in something red, his pants usually) He is AWESOME period ! And for some reason has been overlooked as one of the best/greatest all time metal (any genre of music really) guitarist, without question. During this concert footage, shot in 2015 (may be off by one year, before or after), Glenn was 66 or 67 years of age, he's approaching the age of 74 in this year of 2021. He relunctantly, but ultimately and sadly had to retire a few.years ago, not that he was getting on in years, he is still a vibrant man at 73 y.o. His decision as well as, I'm sure his understanding and taking heed to professional advice: i.e. (medical advice, his Doctors, physicians), plus his day to day dealing with the insidious of, well Parkinson's disease, he had developed, while also still playing with his ailment, some believe, for close to 10 years before his ultimate decision, not wanting to give up what he loved so very much, plus not wanting to leave or let go of or letting down Judas Priest, his band mates. He pushed through, while keeping things to himself for the most part, for several years, before telling those guys, in certain terms, but always toughing it out. He's a true inspiration, a hero for the exhibiting of total selflessness, never letting his ailment impede his performance, which in turn would impede on probably one of the greatest bands (in any genre of music) of All time, period Point blank. The singer Rob Halford, who's 70 now and around 63 or 64 years of age performing doing this great, great song in this video footage, has been with JP since 1972 and still sings to this today of a high caliber, maybe not exactly as in his prime, but close, still indistinguishable and, in my book, the greatest of all time. And to think here, in a couple of months Judas Priest will be back out on the road and on tour for their 50th Anniversary (tour), which was suppose to start last year, but was cancelled due to the, you guessed it, the pandemic; in Los Angeles Oct. 6th 2021 @ Microsoft Arena. Just purchased by tickets online the other day, proud to say. I am 60 years old this year and still listen to one of my favorite bands (along side Led Zeppelin and Queensryche in My Top 3 all time music groups, period). Some songs you could give a try "Screaming for Vengeance", "You Gotta Another Thing Comin' ", "Jawbreaker", "Victim of Changes", "Desert Plains", Green Manilishi (with the two-pronged crown)", "Metal God's", "Hell Bent for Leather", "Love Bites", "Turbo Lover", "Dreamer/Deceiver", "Out in the Cold", "Some Heads are Gonna Roll", "Heading Out the Highway", "Ripper", or, I could go on and on, you get the idea, I'm sure. Their discography is vast, spanning 50 years. You'll find it was worth while and time to check out, at least part of this historical, great metal/rock band. Described in one word, Legends. I really Like and Appreciate your (both you young ladies) channel. You and Jamal aka jemel are my two favorite TH-cam reaction channels. Keep up the good work. Jim d.
Honestly; I find this far more impressive. Rob at his height in the studio is one thing. But at this age, managing to sound this good live? That is truly great!
I love that they react to these videos and I like that they love the good culture of rock and metal and I like the shirts that these parents have, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Thanks for playing this song because it’s one of Judas priest’s songs whose title I always knew but never listened to the song before and I’ve always wanted to hear it.Now that I have,I can say I really love it.As for the meaning,I can’t really help you because I couldn’t really understand many of the lyrics, but I’ll try to see if I can find a lyric video and,if I do,I’ll come back on here and give you my opinion. So long for now.I found a lyric video and listened to it.Here’s what I get out of it.you’re not gonna like it.This is serious stuff. Here we go:from what I can dredge up-not saying this is right or wrong-it seems to concern itself with the idea of someone who wants to take his own life, and towards the end mentions in its own way that many struggle with this idea.Upsetting,I know, but sometimes life is upsetting.Just don’t let anything get you down.
Very tasteful basslines here, great song and wonderful to see your reaction.Pity that Painkiller was blocked, but at least you guys have heard it now,one of the top heavy metal signature songs.
This song is a masterpiece ladies! but you need to hear the original studio version from 1978... With lyrics if you want to be sad, after you understand what the song is really about.:)
Judas priest- dreamer deceiver is probably my favorite priest song. It's probably top 5 solos in my opinion. Judas priest run of the mill. That song is off there first album. It's really good song. Rock hard ride free that's a good priest song. Unleashed in the east live album. That's probably the best live album I've ever listen too.
Unleashed in the East is one of the few albums I listen to several times a year - even though Priest is by no means my favourite band. Just something about that album. Yeah I know it’s “produced” but I don’t care. It sounds fantastic.😊
So if you ladies listen to more of their music, you will find that as a band, they really feed well off of each other. Mostly Glen, KK, and Rob. The music really tells a story, plus it hits hard when it seems like it might not. They really are the inventors of heavy In this video, they have Richie Faulkner in place of KK, so try to listen to the one with KK downing and you'll understand. This song is from 1978, and this concert was in 2011/2012.
Hi you put out this video two months ago I really appreciate you both taking time to hear the beautiful world of heavy metal you girls dont have to to be old to be wise judas priest rock and roll.
He had enough He couldn't take anymore He found a place in his mind And slammed the door No matter how they tried They couldn't understand They washed and dressed him Fed him by hand So the beginning tells you what happened to this person - it's like very depressed, couldn't take it - so they retreat into their own mind and their own thoughts where they feel safer. Speaking with 'my own kind' suggests insanity. Yeah! I've left the world behind I'm safe here in my mind I'm free to speak with my own kind This is my life, this is my life I'll decide not you Withdrawn he sat there Staring into space No sign of life Would flicker on his face Until one day he smiled It seemed as though with pride The wind kissed him goodbye And then he died Sadly, in this state, he eventually dies. Keep the world with all its sin It's not fit for livin' in Yeah I will start again It can take forever, and ever whatever, whenever, but I'll still win His parting thoughts are departure, and stubborn rebellion against a 'life not worth living in'. How many like him Are there still Who to us all Seem to have lost the will They lie in thousands Blank and lost Is nothing worth this bitter cost Here, Judas Priest asks us - the listeners - how many like him are there still? And - unsaid - should we do something about it? Regardless of cost, shouldn't we be reaching to pull these people back into life - show them that life is worth living?
Not sure, but the show could be a 2005. Now the song that gets me rocking out is ( you got another thing coming. by Judas Priest). I play that song so many times back in the 1980s. You would think I know it by heart. lol
Love that you are experiencing Judas Priest. Although Zeppelin is the greatest band ever. Priest is probably #2 early Priest will blow you away the power the duel lead guitar solos. Heavy double bass drumming. Here is my suggestion from the “Sad Wings of Destiny” album. “Dreamer Deceiver/ Deceiver” Victim of Changes” The Ripper” Epitaph” Island of Domination” these early years when Rob Halfords voice was still fresh and young. Priest are the original Metal Gods
This particular performance was recorded in 2012 or 2013, I believe it was the latter, it's off of the Epitaph DVD, so called because they had intended for it to be the last tour and that they would retire, at least from touring, and possibly from music altogether, but they were so well received that they decided to make another album, it was said that because of the recruitment of Richie Faulkner, who replaced KK Downing who had left the band because of a falling out because of some kind of discord over the musical direction of the band, Richie, it was said had breathed new life into the band, and given them heightened enthusiasm for making new music, I may have some details a bit off, but that is basically the facts, anyway it would be a very good idea to acquire the Epitaph DVD, or get it on download...✌🖤
Nice shirts!!! It is good that these girls heard this song, even when Rob is very old and Glenn maybe already had his Parkinson. But they loved the version! Real nice!
What Rob Halford said in this video a year ago about Metal being UK, he later retracted in a current interview with Sammy Hagar when Sammy asked Rob "where did Metal come from?" Rob looked at Sammy and said "Rock n Roll!" When Jimi Hendrix came out he blew every guitar player away that stopped to see him in London in the 1960's. Clapton, Keith Richards, Beck, Page, Townshend, etc. After seeing Hendrix all the guitarists there looked at each other and Jeff Beck said..."well guys I guess we need to look for a new job!" Than in late 1978 first album Eddie Van Halen came out of nowhere and another Rock guitarist single handedly blew every guitarist away! I always said that Metal came from Rock. Without Rock, there would be no Metal! Rock is the foundation and is badass! The good thing is Rock and Metal is seeing a resurgence in popularity from people who are mostly clueless 'POP' music fans thats ruining music backed by the music industry that succeeded to kill Rock for decades from radio and Grammy's! However in the backdrop or underground there are reports that the 60's and 70's music seem to be outselling current music right now.
Tipton playing with Parkinson disease already "at work" at the time, the man is courage made man.
He is and always will be one of my top guitar

Jim d.
Check out the original version.
Vocals are even more astounding.
Yes,if the girls liked this, they really need to hear the original recording.
Yep. I saw them a couple times in the 70s, when they were young, and I was even younger. The energy was huge.
Agreed.
Honestly; I find this far more impressive. Rob at his height in the studio is one thing. But at this age, managing to sound this good live? That is truly great!
This has been my favorite song by Priest since 82, the first time I saw them on tour. Great reaction.
I met Judas Priest some years ago but without Rob because they had their other singer Ripper Owens at the time. They were friendly and awesome!
I love that they react to these videos and I like that they love the good culture of rock and metal and I like the shirts that these parents have, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Tremenda reacción, sigan subiendo más de Judas Priest que hay repertorio para rato, saludos!!
Gracias Diego!
Finally a fresh new reaction! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love these girls!!! There will never be another Judas Priest, I can promise you that.
thanks you gals rock!!!!
The standing ovation was 100 percent correct.
Heard this song many times, still........ CHILLS!!
Long Live Rock 'n Roll 😎
Very tasteful basslines here, great song and wonderful to see your reaction.Pity that Painkiller was blocked, but at least you guys have heard it now,one of the top heavy metal signature songs.
Rob Halford is the Metal God and Glenn Tipton has some of the most beautiful guitar solos in history...more Priest please
Saw them 6 times. They were/ are amazing
Richie Faulkner is the one to the left of Rob Halford... KK Downing was and still to this day a member in the records and memories of fans
This song is a masterpiece ladies! but you need to hear the original studio version from 1978... With lyrics if you want to be sad, after you understand what the song is really about.:)
understand - Rob Halford is 70 - sounds amazing !!!
w/ that said - DO check out him IN his prime - Dreamer Deceiver video is insane vocals and it was ' pre- leather '
@@kevinmcfarlane2752 Well said. I'll never get tired of that album!
One the best guitar solo ever made.....
Rob Halford is KILLER
He had enough
He couldn't take anymore
He found a place in his mind
And slammed the door
No matter how they tried
They couldn't understand
They washed and dressed him
Fed him by hand
So the beginning tells you what happened to this person - it's like very depressed, couldn't take it - so they retreat into their own mind and their own thoughts where they feel safer. Speaking with 'my own kind' suggests insanity.
Yeah! I've left the world behind
I'm safe here in my mind
I'm free to speak with my own kind
This is my life, this is my life
I'll decide not you
Withdrawn he sat there
Staring into space
No sign of life
Would flicker on his face
Until one day he smiled
It seemed as though with pride
The wind kissed him goodbye
And then he died
Sadly, in this state, he eventually dies.
Keep the world with all its sin
It's not fit for livin' in
Yeah I will start again
It can take forever, and ever whatever, whenever, but I'll still win
His parting thoughts are departure, and stubborn rebellion against a 'life not worth living in'.
How many like him
Are there still
Who to us all
Seem to have lost the will
They lie in thousands
Blank and lost
Is nothing worth this bitter cost
Here, Judas Priest asks us - the listeners - how many like him are there still? And - unsaid - should we do something about it? Regardless of cost, shouldn't we be reaching to pull these people back into life - show them that life is worth living?
there is no god really
Not sure, but the show could be a 2005.
Now the song that gets me rocking out is ( you got another thing coming. by Judas Priest).
I play that song so many times back in the 1980s. You would think I know it by heart. lol
I have seen them in Bucharest live .Amazing !Out of this world .Rob Halford is a God.
If you like this, you should listen to his performances when he was young.
One of the greatest Metal bands of all time, and one of their greatest ever tracks 🤘
Victim Of Changes is their other must hear song.
Yes, yes, yes. And hopefully this live version from 1983: th-cam.com/video/hDzutIb6p6I/w-d-xo.html
Hi yea awesome song. Glad you appreciate it
I give this performance 1000000000 outta 10.
With a great guitar solo
Love your reaction
Pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaase more from the Epitaph tour!
I love young Rob's voice but man has it aged so well. It's even better now then when this was recorded.
I saw Judas Priest 2x in Denver Colorado USA . Metal Madness 1981 at its Best. 🎼🎼🎼🎼 Beginning of Metal
"it's like a battle" Rock on Girls
Nice shirts!!! It is good that these girls heard this song, even when Rob is very old and Glenn maybe already had his Parkinson. But they loved the version! Real nice!
This song is a masterpiece!
Rob Halford is the Metal God \m/
Victim of Changes and Dreamer/Deceiver from Sad wings of destiny
I love top see so young people liking real good music 🤘🏻
One of the most Brilliant Guitar Solos of All Time!
What Rob Halford said in this video a year ago about Metal being UK, he later retracted in a current interview with Sammy Hagar when Sammy asked Rob "where did Metal come from?" Rob looked at Sammy and said "Rock n Roll!"
When Jimi Hendrix came out he blew every guitar player away that stopped to see him in London in the 1960's. Clapton, Keith Richards, Beck, Page, Townshend, etc. After seeing Hendrix all the guitarists there looked at each other and Jeff Beck said..."well guys I guess we need to look for a new job!"
Than in late 1978 first album Eddie Van Halen came out of nowhere and another Rock guitarist single handedly blew every guitarist away!
Les Binks really really really likes it when JP plays this song live. L8
