    Now this is how it's done. Purchasing a shadow box from Michael's is not a recycle, (seen on another channel moments ago.) I love Bob. Get's the job done, edits nicely, does not drag out the tutorial with a lot of words I don't need to hear.

    I really like the editing of these videos. The way you explain why you're doing what you're doing is really informative, and I really like the amount you've sped things up (not too slow to be boring, but no too fast that we don't really know what you're doing). And the way they're timed together is well-done.
    Sometimes I feel that when stuff is well-made it gets taken for granted, so I figured I would call attention to it. Thanks for the great videos :D

    you should use black tape inside the big frame to cover the 45 degree angles, it bleeds a lot of light

  • @BelindaShort
    @BelindaShort 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    When doing the front of a frame, it may be easier to use a mitre joiner to make the frame before attaching it to the wood. Then you won't have gaps.

  • @Sneakydecoy
    @Sneakydecoy 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    The colors will change depending on what controller you use as well I think. I read that some of them are poorly "calibrated" There are also much smaller controllers then the one used here. You can get them with remotes that uses radio frequencies instead of infrared, so you don't need to point at the unit for it to work. They can be completely hidden. There are also programmable led strips that you can use with the Arduino.

    • @Iliketomakestuff
      @Iliketomakestuff  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't know about the calibration, I'll have to look into that! Thanks for the tip!
      I've got another idea that would extend this project a bit with using an arduino to control the light color and brightness. It's definitely on my list of stuff to research

    • @Sneakydecoy
      @Sneakydecoy 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've just started getting into electronics/arduino and my knowledge is limited, so I cant guarantee it's correct. Makes sense though. Different controllers would have a small difference in voltage for each channel, and that will make the colors different. (talking about the rgb strip here) Not sure if it affects white though. I have two 1m WS2812B programmable 5050 led strips that I want to make a clock with, using the arduino. Convenient, as they have 60 led's per meter. There are libraries available to control many of the digital led strips. Look up neopixels on adafruit and the fastled library. Sparkfun also has information on this.
