If you wet sand the whole bedside and buff it then it will blend better. Sny tim you have a hard edge it shows like that. If you would have sprayed the whole bedside it wouldn't be as noticable.

Just the tip just to see if ya like it. When your coating over rust start out with fiberglass resin gel. It seals off the rust so it doesn't bleed through your filler next month. Merry Christmas

@@corndogextreme8887 He can always repaint if he wanted. The panel work he did a hell of a job. He saved thousands doing it himself. Body shop in my town was charging 2500 depending how much panels were.

Drop the front differential & replace the chain that drives it & put the spacer that comes with it in the pan. The factory didn't use the spacer at the time of build. So the chain loses tension then wears a hole in the bottom. Happened to me once. Once you put the clip in that doesn't happen anymore. They make differentials out of magnesium so welding them is about impossible so check it.✌

very tricky to touch up paint small area.. i've tried the method of taping sheets of paper folded into loops around the paint perimeter, to soften the transition edge... helps a bit but not perfect.. but if you have enough paint, might as well do the whole panel?
I can't do body work or pant very well at all. Had a leased Ford F150 back in the late 90. Went wheeling with it many times with other friends with lifted trucks, with no issues, then one drunk night in a gravel pit ant night, Dimpled the front bumper, (gray painted bumpers not chrome.) Almost a full can of Bondo with lots of sanding and multiple coats. Painted the bumper and I didn't thin it out, looked like a textured celling! really dicked. Stripped it off real quick and mixed the paint with the stuff to thin the paint out, came out great but the spot with all the Bondo was like a bullseye! might as well of painted it red with circles around it! bought a new front bumper already painted. Had to pull the front drivers fender forward so the drivers door would open.Had to get the paint buffed or wheeled out, had a shit ton of lines all down both sides of the tuck from branches dragging down both sides of the truck. Returned the truck when my lease was up no issues. Nice job!

U can buy the pintel ring that goes into the receiver then hook onto it with a pintel hitch pretty much reverse from hook to a trailer only the truck is the trailer lol

Little buff will help the colors blend but still new paint never matches old and it’s not worth blending

No wet sanding, no cut and buff,( yet, as the paint is still wet due to not enough catalyst), and too dark, ( paint sprayed on too heavy), from 50 foot it looks great!
Not to mention he didn't filter the paint into the mixing cup or paint sprayer cup. Friggin rights he didn't.

That's proper paint reducer and hardner don't be fooled to the one's silly enough to actually try it. But you can use tremclad to paint with gas and hardner or with a bit of Mineral spirits. You did a good job with the paint

Plus the body shop uses something called short haired fibreglass Bondo is Just for filling scratches in the a little imperfections
I remember a couple years ago I called Tremco, before they were bought out by Rustoleum and inquired about how to mix Tremclad to shoot it. The directions used to be on the gallon can but weren't there anymore. I was told it was no longer recommended for "environmental reasons." When I responded with "well, it's not economical to purchase spray cans with the volume I plan working with, so there needs to be a solution..." the response was:
"Well, I don't recommend it, but hypothetically if you were to mix it with 10% varsol/mineral spirits it should be thin enough to pass through a spray nozzle... but I can't recommend it. It's not environmentally approved..."
"Aww. That's too bad. Thanks for your help anyway."

you did a damn good job. Only thing I would of done different would of been to of painted both sides the whole side. I'm not sure how noticable it will be when you wash it. Sure as heck looks a lot better than it did. Give yourself some credit. I notice when you do things you try your best to do it right. Can't beat that Hope you had a good Christmas.
