Watch Marcel Witte. He does the most incredible paintings of animals and, whilst I don't think he does tutorials, in his time-lapse videos you can see the fur painting process up close. Even if it doesn't help you, the paintings are genuinely breathtaking.

I totally agree! Even if you're just masking things and putting them in front of a different background, too often people don't repair the hair edges afterwards. So the emphasis on the edge was great!
Also, when I started, I felt like there was no way of getting the edges better instead of freely painting over myself. The details will be too small to look artificial, but without them it does not look real. So just try it and get better. ^-^

Wow. Just, wow. I feel like my eyes have just opened for the first time. I'm a budding artist and I haven't really found my art style yet and I've been thinking about trying painting but wasn't really quite sure because no matter how many videos I watched about how to properly paint I just couldn't but this video really helped me and kinda gave an extra boost of motivation. This was so helpful love your videos ❤️

I am using your tutorials to get the info into my brain twenty minutes before falling asleep, and I am L♥vin it!! I have used
this technique for learning my entire life. Thank you for being so precise with your wording. I can leave the video running while I work on my own art but not the same type. This has helped my aging mind to wrap around key points without getting my Nana Brain strained.

(btw you might wanna make the don't side somewhat more useful, no one ever painted hair like that, that's not the mistakes we make!)

I feel you. I should have my husband do my don't side whenever I can, to get more feedback from him on his questions and see a realistic demo of what's hard!
      Also!
I do think the exaggerations can be helpful in my don't side to help magnify mistakes made on a smaller scale! and appeal to different skill levels.
      Thanks for the feedback!

Oh my goodness gosh, thank you SO much!! It is SO hard to find hair tutorials (Or at least for me) where it shows and explains in a way that's easily understood and this is so incredibly useful already. I literally just got more painting supplies today and yesterday to practice more and this is seriously going to be so very helpful. THANK YOU

I painted for the first time with acrylics to do my art portfolio and I had no clue how to paint skin, hair, clothes and how to put depth and shadows into the painting. But it turned out amazing for my first time. And I saw this video AFTER I handed in my portfolio and I did exactly what you told on the do's.
And it was all self taught too
