  • Sarah Harmer joins the Hip on stage for "Now For Plan A" during the Hip's encore at the ACC, Toronto, ON - Valentine's Day 2013. The audio is from the internal mics on the video camera, so I can only post the quieter songs from the evening right now! Filmed from Left Floor, Row 1, Seat 1.

Gord's voice mellowed and sweetened over the years. This is just sublime.

This is just a little piece of perfection. It feels like you're in the audience. They absolutely nail the song, this is better than the studio version, which I love. As it's got so few views relatively, I feel like it's just here to cheer me up, that's it my private oasis of love and harmony. Thanks to all involved.

One of the most beautiful songs The Hip ever recorded. This live video does it some justice. Thanks for sharing.

1989... I'm in a band and one of our first songs gets onto a CMJ comp CD. We were giddy about our first comp inclusion, then I hear the track two songs after ours. I was blown away. I was more excited to re-listen to New Orleans is Sinking then my own music.
Six yrs later, I saw them at the SxSW (the night before they were on SNL).Hands down, the best concert of the hundreds I've ever attended. I never felt music literally wash over me like that. They set the mark in the studio and live (between us). While touring on both sides of the pond, I was always thankful when my band-mates let me include a cover of Wheat Kings, Century, Thugs or New Orleans into the set list.
Forward 11 years and I'm in a small bar in NYC with a band mate watching Gord and the Country of Miracles. Not sure what to expect w/out Paul, Rob, Johnny & Sinclair. And it's not like Julie, Dale and Dr. P replaced the Hip, but I saw a different side of Gord. I thought with over 8m people in NYC, why are only dozens witnessing this?
Then there's Plan A and being introduced to a voice like Sarah's... and then, August '16 in Kingston. No words. You know what that was...
Sorry to rant, but I wanted to say that I'm blessed to have the Hip as the centerpiece of my life's soundtrack for the last 27 years. Thank you Hip.
While thankful, I must add that I'm constantly embarrassed that my country missed the mark on the Hip while coveting some of the dreck on US radio. America is great in some respects, but an embarrassment, especially lately, in many others. Politics aside... How could have so many of my countrymen been so deaf?!
As an American Hip fan, I'm envious of Canada when I feel the love for a true band, like a trace of mint wafting in from the north.

Download the full show DVD now at Dimeadozen. My footage has been mixed with a 2nd source (from 6th row), and uses an external mic's audio source comparable to this clip's. Can't post the link here in the comments, but search and you'll find it. Enjoy!

One of the best albums the Hip has released in thier career. Too bad this album is dismissed because it's late in thier discography.
