Adding to the genius this band gave to the world ...
I don’t know much. But I know I love this song.
Nothing short of everything.
It hurts so much......there is no Plan B. I miss you so much.
Gordon is resting above the surface. As he lived his life period,
As a "statey" I can say that there is not a better band, studio or live, that makes me feel music. I found these guys in Algonquin park and I still (literally) dream about those days. Loons, fresh (under)water drinking and the Northern Lights. Luckily, as a "statey" I have the fortunate privilege of seeing these dudes in small venues here in Philly. It's like seeing Bob Dylan play on your front porch. Canadians we welcome you!
ted brogan I’m from Philly too! I miss you,Gord, very, very, much! RIP,you wonderful soul. The world is a little dimmer now! Must be the tear in my eye!
It's pretty powerful music isn't it? I can't seem to stop listening to them now. Thank you for the kinds words about us Canadians! Have a good one!
There is something familiar yet new to this song. I've been a Hip fan from Up to Here. Through the good and the bad. This song speaks to me; I love the chord changes and the extra long intro. Sarah's voice soothes me too. Thanks for being with me all these years boys
I love how they show more of Sarah Harmer than they do the entire band itself. She has a great voice by herself and she compliments this song so much you could think it's her own song! Match made in heaven!
After baring witness to the start of the Man Machine Poem tour in Victoria, and experiencing the potency of collective emotional support and love for Gord and the Band, Nothing Short of Everything's Enough.... Truly magical to be a part of. Nearly 30 years of gratitude left my lips that night........
Well said. I remember tearing up at the end of that show and looking around and seeing how many people in full tears. I was lucky, I got to follow them to Vancouver and all three shows in Toronto.
RIP Gordy baby. I hope you’re still singing and dancing like a maniac wherever you are 🤘
I used to Hate the Hip new stuff after being there from the HARD ROCK Beginnings. Grown older. Love it now. His lyrics has always been under rated. New Stuff especially . Deep shit.
Absolute Perfection. It glows and flows like a sun-kissed leaf gently floating down a sparking autumn stream. One of their very BEST.
This is one of those songs that’s like a balm for the soul.
I'm in love with Sarah Harmer ever more after each time i see or hear her...
Great song. I'm glad I got to see them in Hollywood many years ago. Gord is one amazing lyricist.
Thank you to all the members of The Hip.....all of you will be missed as all of you made incredible music together. My favourite band since 1989...….when I feel down I put The Hip on and my worries go away, even if for a moment......
Holy.fack!.love this.song just hearing it 2021
Top 17th tune on our earth. Brough
Very cool video and still a great song. Glad I finally saw you guys live last year. And on my 21st birthday. That is a night I will never forget. You guys are the best band I've ever seen live.
What an incredibly powerful song and great video. Thank you to the Hip, Gord, Sarah, and the producer. Wow this one still brings on the tears.
Ebb and flow is almost enough
Sarah Harmer is the honorary 6th Hip member! 💖
a gem
I fucking love this! Masterpiece!
Hermoso
There were four excellent Tragically Hip albums (2-5): Up To Here (1989), Road Apples (1991), Fully Completely (1992), Day For Night (1994). Thereafter, the intensity, compelling melodies, and more readily relatable lyrics that made them great, musically, appeared only sporadically. So while there were excellent tracks, including ones not intense musically, on the last ten albums, the album quality after 1994 was consistently unexceptional. Now For Plan A (2012) was the best of that ten.
See you next week in Amsterdam !
What ever was said about Gord as an artist is not enough
Tragically Hip with Sarah Harmer = sheer awesomeness. Next please add Kathleen Edwards and Jim Bryson! My first Hip show was at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, can't remember what year but definitely in the 1980s. :) Gord had tape holding his boot together, I thought I was the only one who loved my boots enough to do that to them, LOL.
All the Tragically Hips songs are AWESOME:), Thumbs up to all your songs :)
Can't wait for Buffalo in July!
I stand outside of the Air Canada Centre... on one of the final Toronto Shows... there she is Sarah..I spot her in the crowd with an older lady smiling as they connect with @Patricksambrook unnoticed by Hip fans, he turns and escorts Sarah and (as I found out later) her mother into the ACC before the show begins, "the Show" ... even a moment like this sticks out as a special scene, its been years.. he doesn't remember my name, but nods... he knows I'm one of them. "them" .. and I don't want this song to end.
Hope all goes well with your wife GORD. cant wait for your next show.. THUMBS UP TOO THE TRAGICALLY HIP BAND, YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME..!
Fucking masterpiece of a song...
Was picking on Tom. This such a baseline. Damn Tom is good
❣️💖😍
I love this song . the louder you play it the more melodic the music gets . the drumming really stands out !

Rock the Line in Toronto today was a great show!
This song just enveloped me in a blanket of peace and love. It's magnificent. How good were this band that a song that I have rarely seen listed as one of their best is this good?
Very beautiful video... I'll read your comic when I'm not overloaded. [Glad to see you're still hanging in there]
Awesome tune!
Gord's a beaut! In 10 years I'l still be listening to falcon lake & voyageur. quintessentially canadian, to me at least.. along with all things hip haha Thumbs up for the shoe too! Solid comment all around, Cheers

I don't believe in age.
All old people
carry
in their eyes,
a child,
and children,
at times
observe us with the
eyes of wise ancients.
Shall we measure
life
in meters or kilometers
or months?
How far since you were born?
How long
must you wander
until
like all men
instead of walking on its surface
we rest below the earth?
To the man, to the woman
who utilized their
energies, goodness, strength,
anger, love, tenderness,
to those who truly
alive
flowered,
and in their sensuality matured,
let us not apply
the measure
of a time
that may be
something else, a mineral
mantle, a solar
bird, a flower,
something, maybe,
but not a measure.
Time, metal
or bird, long
petiolate flower,
stretch
through
man's life,
shower him
with blossoms
and with
bright
water
or with hidden sun.
I proclaim you
road,
not shroud,
a pristine
ladder
with treads
of air,
a suit lovingly
renewed
through springtimes
around the world.
Now,
time, I roll you up,
I deposit you in my
bait box
and I am off to fish
with your long line
the fishes of the dawn!

Thank you for the words. My husband passed 2 months ago of brain cancer. ( like Gord) he absolutely loved the hip and now I find myself playing this song, his favorite. over and over..Searching for my Plan A. 💔🎼🙏
.
Kilometers equals old apparently. Takes more cells to convert to miles
. Takes some to read this. It matters and thank you.
Patrick
Yeah, they really fall apart. :)
Why do I see Cathy pike. In these sounds..? Tuff sound
Kind of their bohemian rhapsody
until you fuck it up.
