  • These are a few tip that might come in handy for a D.I.Y man, I am a semi skilled mechanic that started when I was about 18 but this is only information that could be helpful to someone.

There is enough of us out here to help if needed, check your headlamps to make sure the silver has not peeled off, any other little issues don't hesitate to ask me.

Do you have your 12v switch ON? also you may have a blockage, is there any water in your water tank? other than that your water pump may have given up on you, it should be under the offside bunk or in the cupboard under the sink, just clamp off the inlet and outlet hoses and take it out to test it, as it is easy to do, if it is an old camper like mine you may have to replace the pump, you should be able to get one of these from www.coastalmotorhomes.co.uk hope you get it sorted out, All the best Ray

Hi Ray, I also bought a Talbot Express in March of this year and renovated a few things. When I first bought it the propex 1600 heater was working then suddenly it just stopped working. Ive taken it apart and tried outting the spark gap closer but still nothing. I'm wondering who this contact is who renovated yours? Was it Alex? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi there Ryan, are we talking about a Chinese heater, or a gas heater that fits in the camper, please send me a picture so as I can help. If it runs on gas and has a plug, put the gap back to where it was, now try to turn the gas on, then light the gas ring, this will draw the gas up to the ring, now you can turn the heater on to see if it works, send the picture to my e-mail, raytownson1948@hotmail.co.uk

Ryan, if you are referring to the water heater burner, then his number is as follows,
Arc Systems 07901544431 the cost is £100 but for that you get a new one if it can't be repaired, he has been repairing these for years as he used to be an installer of them.

@@charlietango1635 Hi Ray, Thank you for your response and help! I have already repaired the water heater boiler. I know how temoramental they can be! I was actually talking about the LPG winter heaters which are under the seats normally a propex 1600 compact. I hear the heater clicking the igniter but it just switches off. Ive tried to close the gap between the igniter contacts but nothing. Is there a way to reset them. Thank you for any help!
      Regards Ryan

@@MegaWheeler11 You may have a blocked gas pipe, also you might want to check the cut off tap, they are normally al together to make sure it is not turned off, the other thing is if the gas is not getting to the heater it will switch off after a few seconds,
as I mentioned before, check the gas is getting to the heater by turning on the gas hob to draw the gas to it, as the pipe is lower to the heater, than the hob, also check the regulator that could be faulty also, please let me know if and when you get it fixed, make sure your leisure battery is on and charged, there maybe a reset button on the rear of the heater, you could check that by means of a mirror, hope this helps you in some way. put your heater control on full when you try to start it.

All else fails, take it out and strip it down as they were very expensive to buy, and replace any bits that need replacing, how many lights are on when you switch it on? there should be just the green light, if the red or orange comes on after the clicking stops, it is normally a gas issue. Failing that, I forgot to mention the PCB board on the control, you can get these replaced very cheap on Ebay.

Is it an Ascot boiler? or a gas boiler under the bunk bed where the fumes come out the side of the camper? Have you turned the 12v switch on? then turned the pump switch on?
