Great review! I've been considering buying a FS70R as an upgrade to my old Echo strimmer, and this was very informative! I think I'll pull the trigger on one myself come springtime.

Good video and strimmer! One hand trimming is nice for straight flat areas and under bush's

Hi Curtis, great strimmers, I've used 2 Fs70 strimmers for 3yrs now with no problems. Your right about the factory fitted head, I did the same as you and replace with the Stihl lookalikes on e bay which do a great job and last just as well. Don't you just love a new tool.

Good luck with this mate. I've personally always preferred the cow horn strimmers for control although the loop handle is great for making an edge and large lawns. Hope the weather stays good to you

Rich Shackleton it's the first time I've ever used the loop handle, it's taken some time to get used to it but I'm getting there now. Thanks for watching mate

Echo speedfeed heads are the why to go .. even the echo knock off Chinese ones are pretty good. Smooth bottoms and fast to load 👍👍👍

Not sure how it is in the UK, but in the states the FS70RC comes with the autocut 25-2 head with the sae bumper as your "old" one. I have used my FS70 for the last 2 years. Not major issues. I have the kombi attachment as my backup but haven't ever needed to use it.

I use the fs90r 4 mix and it works great, but I do prefer just the standard 2 stroke. I call them the cow horn handles (I'm not sure I'm right). I just use the Chinese copy heads (they are just like the one you have on yours they work well for me, and are cheap). I bought the combi strimmer end that's actually my first back up, I agree with you leave the guard on I can edge with it on there. It's a strimmer to me. Good vid thanks🙂👍

Uk Lawn Care We must be doing something right if we are busy, I keep waiting for the slow down but it just doesn't come. I could do with a bit of a rest, but while the weathers ok we should make the most of it. ATB 👍

Hi Curtis. Good to see that your wallet does open 😂👍. Great machine from what I gather probably the same power as your old one but as the old one is old it probably lost a bit of performance. I think the guard is useless and prefer the bigger ones that are on the brushcutters. Agree with the heads. Must have been work experience boy designing that new head. You may want to cut that black crinkle sleeve thing off and bring the loop handle up so your not bending over as much. Hope all is well mate and looking forward to see you at saltex👍

your going to get a good few trouble free years with it so i don't think you need to worry about back up to much. was in the same position with my hl 75 long reach when the cutting head went last year it was cheaper to buy new head.all my individual stihl tools are quite old now so next time one fails beyond repair will get combi engine then get each attachment as needed. atb

Hi Curtis. That looks a great strimmer. Glad your liking it. Did you consider the FS50 bent shaft? We use them for regular maintenance and find them perfect. We use cow horn strimmer for rougher work.we use EFCO and also find them great. I will be doing a vid on them soon look out for it. Take care mate. Hope to see you at saltex👍

A little tip for better control: put your elbow on the motor. Rest it there and force down on the handle. Works great for me.

strimmers make 100 decibels of noise so please wear double ear protection unless you like to lip read when you are much older or enjoy tinnitus ........ and they pollute your lungs and the air from 2 stroke engines just 12 inches away from your nose / with 90 million strimmers in the world that use 10 million spools of plastic that only get used once and then end up in rivers and in the grass to be eaten by birds and animals..................... maybe use a scythe takes a little more work but you save on petrol / plastic / clean lungs / ears .... a strimmer is £500 ..... a scythe is £ 50 you can charge more and say you are an organic gardener
