Chris, thank you for bringing us along-I refer to your channel as the most wholesome on youtube! Please consider an episode of your life story-whatever you felt comfortable sharing of course. Take care, Keep Hiking!
Chris, I envy you!! If it weren't for my seven year old daughter, I would move to your part of the country. I really love the climate there vs the climate here near Pensacola, Florida. Your videos are great, and your wonderful attitude makes for a great experience. Thank you for what you do!! Very Respectfully, Robert Holster, Pace. Florida!!
What beautiful country and views you have out there !!!! I love your overnight camp cook videos!!! And seeing the different beers 🍺 you take along, keep doing what your doing, love it !!!
Thank you for sharing your hikes with such detail and with the history lessons. I love your channel. I would never see or experience these places, so it's a real treat to watch, and with your descriptions, feel how it would be to walk, hike, and camp all these wonderful places. Thank you!
Greetings from Northern California. I’ve hiked in the Carson pass area many times before mostly on trails with groups and I appreciate you hiking by yourself off trail and finding different perspectives.. Your choice of theme beer really cracked me up-Taco Truck beer 😂, cheers Chris keep on truckin’ with weird beer 🍺!
I’m always fascinated with the fresh food you bring on the trail. Could you do a video about how you store and transport things like steak and ground beef?
Catching up on your old videos, Chris. Just loved this, used to do a lot of camping and hitting these beautiful places. I appreciate what you're sharing and your story telling and your music is the best!
As always great conversation, beautiful views, the cooking looks so yummy, too. Thank you for what you do. Keep hiking, Mr Sunshine! Rosey here in the boondocks of Freeville, where life is grand!
As you said what a beautiful place to wake up in the morning. Clean clear crisp mountain air is a real treat. Thanks for the history and photos of the place it makes your adventure so much more interesting Chris. Bushyboy Oz.
wow, i absolutely love that part of the country. Sierra Nevada range, gold miners, mountain men. watching you sit on that big boulder, makes me wonder what happened that boulder was in that position. cooking, now that's a guessing game on my part. it would take some serious thinking about where i am going, how long, how much to carry. can i actually cook a meal? right now i live by micro wave. i would probably haul MRE"s my metal detector, a small stove for coffee for sure.lol another great scenic adventure. love the fact you go places not a lot of people have been, nobody else around. until next time, be safe.
Just did 3 day trip into Mammoth. Used lots of tips I’ve learned from watching your videos. Thanks Chris! So happy to see a new video pop up. Your videos are my favorite to watch.
Beautiful spot, good drink and great food. You had it all there. I would very much like to see you camp in that meadow by the creek, but if you could camp in that pass, that would be really cool. Man those tacos looked good. Hope your new job is going well and cheers. Stay safe.
That was a really nice overnight adventure. Great views, beautiful meadow. I really enjoyed the history of the area as well. Too bad you had to go back and work. Have a good one
Love your videos, would like to make two comments. It is always best to put your stove on mineral soil and not on pine needles. When you went to do the morning peak climb, I did not notice a daypack with the 10 essentials the Spot just in case of an emergency. BTW, I have a friend who recently fell on a downslope at Lake Tahoe and broke his tib/fib and had to be evac via a helo. It happens!
It is beautiful out there! I did an overnighter here in Central Texas this last weekend. With mild temps in the upper 90s and a relative humidity of about 70%, it was quite nice with little to no breeze… I have no concept of the weather and climate you are camping in, but you don’t look like you were just freed from the sauna, like I did. Nice video! I really dig that REI tent! Looks like it gets really good airflow.
Hay Chris most videos were you have no cell service you all ways say about wishing you could no what temperature it is , you should get one of them carabiners that have a temperature thing on them you can get them on Amazon I have one and they work great .good video again.you should do a catch and cook trip 👍
I love your videos -lots of beautiful scenery, good stories and food, and camping tips!! Also the background music at the beginning of this videos so pretty, do you know the name of the group ?
Beautiful scenery Chris, absolutely wonderful! I'm curious what shoes/boots you wore in this video? I'm also curious as to what jacket you wore. Thanks for the reply (if you see this) and thanks for putting out positive content.
Great vistas Chris that is a real beautiful part of the US you live in…..do you still have your trailer tent? thought we may see some videos of you using it? keep up the great content buddy 👏🏻👍🏻
Kit Carson stopped in Colorado too it seems lol Kit Carson is a Statutory Town in Cheyenne County, Colorado, United States. The population was 233 at the 2010 United States Census. Wikipedia Hotels: 3-star averaging $151. View hotels
I looked up IPA beer and found this. Chris.... you know how to live. An IPA, or an India Pale Ale, is a hoppy beer style within the broader category of pale ales. IPAs are fairly bitter due to the hop’s presence and higher in alcohol than the average beer. Bitterness is usually undesirable in food and beverages, but the bitter flavor makes IPAs unique and beloved.
Sadly some people dont live by “leave no trace” especially by leaving the glass bottle… the rock structure was interesting but i wish that had never caught on… take only pictures and leave only hopes of sustainabilities
Chris, can you speak about the permit process? Im just learning that permits are required in many places and i have no idea which types of places require them

Cooking in bear County with the wind blowing dammmmmm Chris man I'm not skittish but that is a little much for me 😂😮😅
beautiful video! The Sierras around Tahoe is my favorite place to backpack and hike.
Thanks Mike...good little trip.
I would never leave my boots outside my tent, if something runs off with them. You are walking out barefoot. That could be a problem.
Sehr schönes Video, danke Chris

These famous people show up and make the place famous...cool history we have.
It's a good thing you experienced that area before it caught on fire. I hope those old trees you camped by make it .
Yes - me too...fire was to the south and west...we'll see!
Dang nice vid Chris, I’m assuming that the tamarack fire has engulfed that region?
It really took over right after my video...watching it and hoping to return and that it survives. Thanks!
Loved it!
I really loved this video, please stay safe debs..
Thank you Deb! KP HKNG!
Ive been up to Donner pass by way of Truckie, and it is quite beautiful up there!!!

Yeah...I'd prefer it was not altered - period...fortunately saw no garbage.
My jetboil mighty mo comes with the same plastic stand and i know its not as durible as the msr stand you use but its a good backup in a pinch
Yeah it should be fine as a stand in....Do you like the Mighty Mo?
Lord that's beautiful country...
Awesome camp ! 👍👍
Thanks Tyler! KP HKNG!
Enjoyed learning about your gear! What works best...
Do you keep your sleep bag stowed in the back pack or do you store it in a loose storage sack between hike destinations and trips
We love tacos too yuuummmm
Tasty in the woods
@@basecampchris absolutely
Beautiful views!
It was! KP HKNG!
Hey Chris, I heard you say you work from home. What kind of work do you do?

Loving the drone footage! How is that new cooking set working for you?
I like the stove the lid for the pot did not work ( plastic - no handle ) so i used my GSI pot lid for the Jetboil pot...Thanks for watching D Rob!
I don't see where he used a drone. You are the second person to say he did. I watched again and couldn't find.
WILD. BEAR.
How hard is it to get permits and are they expensive?

Knurly dude
Cool!
Mo- call -Omne , I believe . ( as pronounced )... as I know it. Maybe the Indians pronounced it as you do ?
Mr. Chris do you carry a hand gun ?
Hope u are packing your 357 magnum stay safe 😅
😭😢😥😲😳🐕🐕🐕🐕
Can you make money off the photos you take? I would love to do that!
Was with you until the drone. Just not good for wildlife. Your videos are great without it.
Thanks - yeah - can be easily over done and affect the locals...I'll keep it in mind.
I don't see where he used a drone.
