Floor's superpower is that she doesn't just sing the words to a song, she feels the words and passes on those feelings to everyone else. She is one of the few singers that can make grown men cry
I concur! Her voice moves me in a way that no other vocalist even comes close to. She can make me feel chills from head to toe, she can make my igly cry and she can make me feel like I can’t breathe. But she can also make me laugh, feel happy and dance like a maniac. She is truly the most gifted vocalist of her genreration.
Her cover of 'Euphoria' (originally a Eurovision winner for Loreen) is stunning too - especially as she was at home, having only just had gall bladder surgery!!
Floor's covers kept us sane during lockdown.... And in this song you can see, hear and feel the music,... I absolutely adore this version ❤. More Floor,....I'M GAME !!!!! NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
Having heard Floor in person with Nightwish last November, I can promise you that no video or audio recording can truly convey just how powerful her voice is, it's utterly jaw dropping.
So true! I was at one of the shows at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam and nothing could have prepared me for the experience. I didn’t sing along as much as I usually do, I didn’t rock out as much as a usually do. Instead I sat there and was totally mesmerized by them and most of all Floors actual voice. When she hit that high note at the end of POTO I almost couldn’t breathe, it hit me that hard. And seeing her perform Shoemaker was epic! If you don’t cry at the end of that song I don’t know what will it will take. Becuase that is hauntingly beautiful. And there is no way to capture the true power of her voice on a recording. You have to be there.
Congratulations... most beautiful reaction to this song so far. Had to watch it 2 times; first time, I couldn't help but watch Floor, second time I watched you... both times brang happy tears. Thank you.
Hearts version was also a cover, just probably the most well-known version. Yes, do more covers. Adagio is awesome or if you haven't seen the acoustic version of How's the Heart it's worth it too.
This is the most definitive version of this Heart classic (l-10 original). The grand piano is provided by Floor's long time friend and collaborator SIR Joost van den Broek (After Forever, Ayreon). Haha, l saw them live last Friday at Kitee, Finland. Floor is heavily pregnant now, but still they delivered a full two hours show. 😎👍
Can we talk about the fact that Floor sings this entire song sitting in a chair and still has immense power in her voice. That is not easy and it really shows how well trained she is both technically and physically.
If you watch any reaction from a vocal coach or recording artist they will always comment on how powerful her voice is because of how she grounds herself on stage and I agree but I can’t help but point out she did this sitting in a freaking chair.
I have often wondered how many microphones she has utterly destroyed with the power of her vocal chords. I have been a fan of Heart for a long time, Anne Wilsons voice is incredible, I hadn't realised Floor covered this. I love it. You should check out Heart covering Stairway To Heaven Live though. It's mindblowing. Also, check out some of Floors covers from the Dutch TV show, Beste Zangers. She absolutely stole that show, the other contestants were utterly in awe of her.
@@Greyhound53200 Greetings back from Ireland. I stand corrected, I just assumed it was a competative format show. My understanding was that she "won" the show.
Nice reaction. F Floor is so extremely capable of conveying emotions. BTW, this is not a Heart original Written by I-Ten in 1983, Heart made it famous however! Sir Joost van den Broek, in the past with Floor in After Forever, plays the grand piano.
Great one girl, It is not just a "cover". this is more than a interpretation Floor can touch our fellings in the first second that's why we love our VALKYRIE GODDESS ❤
Floor's palette of vocal variations is unimaginable... But it all took hard work. The pianist is an old bandmate and they know each other very well. The way he leads her into that scream.. So effortless.
Hey Ash. That was BRILLIANT :) If You want You can add to Your list: Vilja Lied, Que Se Siente and Shallow sang by Floor - You will not be disappointed :)
Floor's voice can create a hole in the thick-skinned armor of any petty soul, and pour much needed feels in. If you ever find yourself being numbed by this cruel world and it's inhabitants, this is your elixir. Sorry for your mascara, world.... not !!
As much is, I absolutely love floor and one of the best voices out there today I have to go with heart for this song because the way they do it with the electric guitars and everything is great. Heart did a live version that I absolutely hated because they did it acoustic style. That song is not meant to be acoustic. It is meant to be played loud and heavy. That’s what makes this song so great.
I love the original from Hearts as I do love this cover from Floor. Both of them are on my playlists. There is no competition to me, both are just great.
Hey Ash, greetings from UK again @SlashleyReacts My vote is for the acoustic version of the song "How's The Heart?" which highlights the value of asking someone "How are things with you, are you well?" It is just Troy playing acoustic guitar and Floor singing, no other band members
Nice Reaction! What I love about Floor's singing is the sound of her voice in her lower register. She's a Soprano, so we all know she can sing high notes and it sounds amazing, but the sound she produces in her lower register is equally amazing. She did these covers during Covid. Another one she did was the big song from the movie Frozen.
Well said! She has stated in an interview that she is an empath and that she really feels the songs she sings are on a deep emotional level. And you can really tell that she does. She has even gone of stage crying at one point while singing “Sleeping Sun”. That was shortly after she got back on tour after her cancer surgery and the lyrics really got to her.
Given how powerful and iconic Ann Wilsons voice is, Floor is one of the few that could have done this justice and adding her own spin to it. Mind you I could listen to Floor sing the phone directory . Thanks for sharing
Floor Jansen and Tarja Turunen did a great cover of Gary Moore's Over the Hill and Far Away about a decade ago, around the time when Floor joined Nightwish. Nightwish covered the song in 2001 when Tarja was in the band, it was pretty surreal seeing the current Nightwish vocalist and the original on stage together.
What I particularly like about your reactions is that you don't make science out of the music, but just let your feelings speak. If you like this cover of Floor, then you will be able to enjoy all the others of her. So far, I haven't heard a song by Floor that she hasn't sung better than the original. Listening to Floor always means going on an emotional journey. My recommendation to you would be - get going!
Floor Jansen when she was singer in After Forever was originally making cover of this same song. Anyways she is familiar with Alone from years back as they have played it live also I think. And i think it was also mainly just with piano. Anyways i think Sinergy has made still the best cover of this song. Even though as a singer Floor is on her own level.
Oh you SO have to listen to her performances on Beste Zangers! Particularly "Winner" (read the background to the song first for maximum effect) and her cover of "Shallow". Won't regret it!
Floor is incredible ❤ And just for the record - it's I-10 that wrote this song - but Heart that made it famous. On the piano you hear Jost Van den Broek - a close and old friend of Floor's. They worked together in After Forever and ReVamp and different Arjen Lucassen's projects (Ayreon and Star One)
Floor is wonderful as always...as are your reactions, but also Goth wise have you heard the new VNV Nation single 'Wait'? I think you may enjoy. It has the goth esthetic but with a real punch to the sound. Good times in Germany.(but it is in English and they are popular over your way)
So beautiful! I forgot about this song and hearing it really brought back a certain time in my life. Thank you for reacting to this and the memories it evoked. What a fantastic voice she has! 🖤
Yup, for me Floor's solo stuff...Amsterdam live 2021, Beste Zangers performances, her cover songs, While Love Died, a few songs from the Sing Meinen Song show. I listen or watch these performances quite frequently. Sorry to say, all these songs are better than any song on Floor's new album Paragon. For me Paragon had no replay value, no matter how much I love Floor.
This is so true! Just listen to the vocal line that she does in the credits to Sabatons Christmas Truce video. She doesn’t sing any lyrics, but she still manages to pierce my heart and soul in the most beautiful way possible.

Sorry can't go with you on that one. Ann absolutely slayed this one. I am a big fan of a lot of what Floor has done but this one is a little outside of her strong point. Floor's singing style made her the perfect replacement for Tarya in Nightwish. But just like I enjoy Floor more than Tarya in Nightwish you will have some die hard Tarya fans who will disagree with that call as well. You want to see Floor hitting it on all cylinders live outside of Nightwish watch her and Henk Poort doing Phantom of the Opera. That is the music style she was trained to sing and kills it.
Putting aside the vocals (Floor and Ann Wilson are both elite singers), I find this arrangement with Joost van den Broek on piano so much better than the original. When I go back and listen to Heart's version, it sounds cheesy in comparison. Joost deserves a lot of credit for this cover too.
