    I have owned 2 Focusrite 2i2’s both developed problems. I then purchased a Behringer XenyxQX1202 which does a fantastic job! I use this with my home recording setup.

    Thank you for validating my choice in mixers. I was looking at both of these and purchased the 1202 yesterday over the 202. Air seems like I made the correct choice. I appreciate your video and will look at more to learn more.

    Is there a way to combine these two devices? And, would it make sense to do so?

      I record vocals using the Scarlett preamps but I connect the direct monitor in stereo mode to the Behringer mixer the vocals in a channel and the music in other to.add effects while monitoring that way I get 0 latency and all the quality of the Scarlett

    I hope you can help us. We doing a podcast and we want to update our two mic setup into four. Currently we using a focusrite 6i6 for audio interface, and rode podmics. These have a pretty good quality in my opinion, so we don't want to level down if we extend the number of mics. What do you think the Behringer XENYX QX1202 USB would be a good solution for 4 mics?

    Hey! So kind of a silly question here, but you noted that the Behringer USB records at a much lower rate than the Scarlet. I'm curious, as I happen to have both units, if I was to run the signal out of the Behringer into the Scarlet and used the Scarlet for my recording interface, would I pick up the higher sampling rate?

    • @seansmothers
      @seansmothers 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And to clarify, I'd use TRS cables from the main outs into TRS or XLR into the Scarlet to accomplish this ...

    • @kettnercreative
      @kettnercreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, because the analog to digital conversion would be done with the Scarlett.

    Great!!! Question! I have the behringer Xenyx QX1202USB... and I have this huge problem with my mixer and streamyard... when I use the usb in the mixer for some reason I can't hear the guests at all... I tried it just using the M-Audio Mtrack 2x2 directly and works but I can only input 2 mics there... I would like to just use the mixer usb but just doesn't work properly I can never hear my guests... any tips???

      I would recommend avoiding Behringer. Something like the Yamaha MG10XU or Mackie ProFX would work well if you want a mixer. Otherwise the Rodecaster or the Scarlett 4i4 are popular as well

    Hello and thank you for this video. I'm actually deciding right between these two devices. And of course I can't make a final decision. I have an electronic drumkit and I use a drum software in my PC to trigger everything. Plus I use an audio device to listen at drumless songs and I play over it. Everything is connected to a Behringer mixer, not USB. My goal is just to be able to record everything in my computer. Because I already owe a mixer I was more pointed in the Focusrite direction, but not sure if this would be the right decision.

    Hi and thank you for the video. It seems clear to me that the Focusrite is my choice for home recording layers of acoustic guitar. But In that other 1% of the time when i want to connect to an amplifier with a pre-amp (say for playing live in a small space), will the Focusrite be a sufficient way to do it or do i need the mixer for that for a reasonable output?

    If I am using a Scarlett 2i2 for Zoom, how do I do things like add a noise gate, add a compressor, etc... on the live audio input going into Zoom?

    • @kettnercreative
      @kettnercreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would need to use some type of software based solution like OBS for this.

    • @leozhad
      @leozhad 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kettnercreative thank you! I was able to do this in OBS, using blackhole to patch the output into Zoom

    Which is the best for Zoom?

    • @kettnercreative
      @kettnercreative  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both will work. It really depends on what size of unit you want on your desk and if you’ll ever use this for another purpose (live events, music etc.)
      If you’re just getting it for zoom, get the Scarlett

    Thanks for this very useful review. I own both and at the end of the day it all depends on the goal the user is trying to achieve and the allocated budget. For recording musicians at home the scarlet wins for me. The behringer is useful for music rehearsals, demo recordings but not the best recording quality.
    Eventually it is a true case of you pay for what you get. When you identify your need the choice becomes much easier. :) .
