I'm a 3D needle felter, I usually do my work over a wire armature so that it's posable. You will be better off using those foam pads for something else - I've found making a hessian case and filling it with raw rice is much better, and longer lasting... Felting needles will most likely go threw those leather finger thing - I used to just add a "blood tax" to my work haha Sarafina fiber art has the most devine wool on the planet - she has little kits, and also heaps of free and paid for tutorials.
