Amazing tech, Ketchup! Maybe now we will start to see more Warlock Quan Chi in high level play. I feel he isn't utilized as much as he should be. I like the fact that he doesn't rely on setups with atrocious startups like the bat and spell circles. On my channel I actually have a clip of a 41% meterless combo with warlock quan that might come in handy for you or any others interested.

I've always found myself using Heavy Arms Jax and using the crouching 1, 2 to close in, but this is very interesting... I might have to consider trying out Quan Chi.
Been a while since I played Quan but I remember distinctly that Warlock was my favourite of his variations - seems it was for the nooby reason that he had more combos (or easier combos). Interesting that the scoop is a strike and not a command grab, I guess they thought it would be too powerful.
Simon Johnson It's actually a pretty common misconception, technically Summoner is the most combo heavy variation because of how much the bat will extend juggles. It also gives Quan the highest meterless damage too. Warlock isn't about combos, but counter zoning and the threat of the armoured reversal. It'd be godlike if scoop was a grab, but it'd be way to powerful on top of his already existing 50/50 factor. - Ketchup
For some reason, in the corner, I simply can't do 4 into DB3,B. It just doesn't work. I can do B2 into that MB and then trance on mid screen but in the corner it's been impossible haha. Great vid as always.
any new thoughts on how portal slam/portal stab should be used in light of the october patch? portal slam not having armor seems like a pretty big nerf to his wakeup game, but portal stab is apparently safer now. i really want to get into warlock because of how damn cool the portal gameplay looks, but given that what you say is the main reason to use the variation (armored portal slam reversal/wakeup) is gone i'm wondering if i should look elsewhere.

I have the most trouble with that only way I know how to use the bat is setting up the low and overhead into trance. I have no real idea how to use the bat to extend combos
I've seen ppl do forward 2122 string into the bat fireball to continue combos. Otherwise its different ways to use the low bat to do hard to block situations
mijaco999 Kitana is a pretty strong one to potentially use Warlock for. Her zoning far exceeds Quan Chi in that specific matchup. Her air fans catch you before you can use any projectiles of your own. The F3 however, does stop kitana from throwing fans on the ground and in the air due to the tracking and hitbox of the F3. It makes her have to come in, which the reversal is always a threat with as very little of Kitanas moves armour break. - Ketchup
Labeart Beqiri When the opponent knows an option is available, so they block thinking it's coming. If the opponent were to start "respecting" my armoured scoop, they would block in situations they think it's coming, be it on my wakeup or if I put them in a neutral situation I'd try to counter poke in. Because they know that the armoured scoop is always an option if they press any buttons. Against the other Quan variations, you don't need to respect anything on the offence at all, as he has zero armoured options in Sorceror and Summoner. But they have way better offence to back that up.
PNDKetchup yeah, I was just pointing out how you were beating up Jacqui after everyones hate on her. Also isn't his sky drop armoured, why does noone count it as a wake up attack, is it because the start up is too slow?
Cyrus Farn The move has so much startup time it may as well have no armour at all. Any strings that's remotely meaty can hit quan before he even leaves the ground. The hitbox on the skydrop while falling is also so awful, most attacks actually hit him on the way down too. It's just all in all a highly trash move. It can't be good though, as Summoner and Sorceror can't have wakeup attacks for balance purposes. - Ketchup
PNDKetchup Pretty much the he only use for that move I think is with Summoner. If he uses a low bat and the over head full screen its very hard to block. I also use it in a panic situation as a wake up, if I'm in the corner and almost dead I just do it sometimes and it works quite a lot as they don't usually expect it.
Just finished some ranked matches with Warlock to demonstrate this tech in a real match. Will be uploaded tomorrow!

Thegamershero Kung Lao's 4,4 can be fully armoured through. Always be on the look out for it against Tempest Lao, just in case he drops the combo!

Quan Chi's F3 in Warlock is probably the best tool against Full Auto Jacqui spam.
Rabbi Andy I strongly believe that Warlock beats Full Auto Jacqui at least 6-4.
