    Even though you may not be getting a ton of views on these training videos the contribution you are having to furthering the enjoyment of this game is immeasurable. Thank you for doing this for us beginners. It is clear to see that you spent a good amount of time on this.

    The next video is what I am really looking forward to, I got 38% combos but I land them so rarely that the opponent always has a breaker. Thanks for the good series of videos, I really learned a lot !

    I've just started really getting into fighting games a year ago with Dragon Ball Fighterz, Tekken 7, and now I'm trying this game to see if I want to get MK 11 on release. This series of tutorials has been the most helpful in the shortest amount of time that I've found so far for any of these games. This video and the first one on how to choose a character were so helpful. Thank you.

      Same, although I havent played fighting games since the release of mk9 and even then I only played for about 2 weeks. Im trying to get comfortable before mk11 with mkx. Why do fighting games have such a hard learning curve 😭

    • @roflrofl1234rofl
      @roflrofl1234rofl 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@breakpoint43 Yea the learning curve is brutal but it does make it feel rewarding once you learn the combos and get good. Unfortunately the extremely hard learning curve is also what is keeping fighting games from being more popular. They scare away most of the casual players. I wish they were more accessible just so the player base would be larger and I'd have more people worse than me :).

    • @roflrofl1234rofl
      @roflrofl1234rofl 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Extreme Pc Gaming Same. I've gone against a couple new people but usually I get matched against someone with hundreds of wins/losses and it gives me a less than 10% chance of winning lol. I've spent most of my time in training practicing combos and playing against the AI though and every time I match against one of the players I'm doing better, although I usually lose.

    • @roflrofl1234rofl
      @roflrofl1234rofl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Extreme Pc Gaming Tekken 7 is a great fighting game. However, I find it harder than any other fighting game I've ever tried. Even when you watch pro players try to make simple beginner tutorial videos they have a hard time not going on tangents about all the intricacies you have to be aware of. Just doing combos in Tekken 7 is astronomically harder than MKX. Almost every attack in the combo also requires a different directional input as you hit the attack(down right 1, forward 2, down back 3. etc) and the strings have multiple (forward+quarter-circle forward 1) type abilities in them while you are juggling. Then when you get matched against a veteran in that game its not even close. I started playing MKX not only out of the hype from MK11 but also because I was so overwhelmed trying to learn Tekken 7.

    • @roflrofl1234rofl
      @roflrofl1234rofl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Extreme Pc Gaming It sounds like you play on PC, so do I. Unfortunately most of the fighting game community is on console. The communities for almost all fighting games on PC are extremely low by comparison and it can take a while to find games in any of them. MKX actually has more people playing right now than it has in over a year because it was just on sale last week and MK11 just had its reveal. When the games are first released the community is huge. I started really playing fighting games when Dragon Ball Fighterz launched and all the lobbies were full, you had to wait just to get in. The problem is most of the casual players fall behind and just stop playing it all together because of how difficult it is. DBFZ is on sale right now on steam and has more people playing than its had in months as a result.
      But yea that's another reason I wanna play MK11 at launch. The player base will be at its peak and everyone else will be just as new as I am.

      When that happens you punch them. If they block you can kick them. If neither of those work you jump and punch, followed by jump kick. Punch punch punch, punch punch kick. Punch kick punch. Then block and punch when they're dizzy from punches.

    Thanks so much for this, it helped me a lot to understand the game and at the same time did make it even a more enjoyable. For those unfamiliar with this kind of games think of it as the Killer Instinc theory; Opener (neutral jump) - Auto doble (combo) - Linker (special) - Auto doble (combo) - Ender (special or uppercut in this case).

    The upcoming video is what I'm most looking forward to now! I want to learn how to be an aggressor, because while I have combos down I end up being more of a defensive player for most of the match not sure if it's because I'm not being an aggressive player or I'm not capitalizing on openings. That seems to be my main weakness. Love these videos! Really helpful, keep up the good work!

    Will you be showing some tips on chaining combos with run cancel? I find the timing of that very tricky.

    • @PNDKM
      @PNDKM  9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      GothicHand It's very simple.
      You basically cancel your dash with block to run as always, you just simply input your dash as your attack finishes, then instantly pressing block, which gives you the run. then press your next combo attack as fast as you can and you'll instantly get it.
      It sounds harder than it is, but again, it's muscle memory.

    Hey I know I'm a little late but I just got MKX a few days ago and I have a question about inputting long combos.
    What is the pace of inputting? or When am i inputting the next combo/special once ive already input one combo/special? Do you input them once you have confirmed them hit? or should I be just input them one after the other without confirming the hit?
    I'm not worrying about them blocking right now, I am just having trouble with inputting long strings. Maybe if i gave an example of a combo and where i have problems it will help you answer :)
    For Ermac I am trying to do: F21D2, Jump 3, Air Tele, B12, Soul Ball, Jump 1, B12 which I believe should put them in a standing position so i can do my Vortex. The F21D2, Jump 3 is easy, but i find myself getting the Air Tele only about 60% of the time maybe less. Even worse is doing the B12 after Air Tele, out of the times i get the Air Tele i may get the B12 about 10% of the time. It either doesn't happen or I miss entirely. So my guess is that I am inputting the combos at the wrong times, either too slow or too fast but I can't figure out which it is. When should I be inputting the Air Tele after the F21D2, Jump 3? When should I be inputting the B12 after the Air Tele? Am I just too bad at the game to be doing this combo?
    Sorry for the long rambling question and thank you in advance for any responses.

    • @iSoryu
      @iSoryu 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should do the input before you see it ESPECIALLY for online, there's a huge input delay at the moment online due to the netcode, they're improving it as of March 1st but at the moment it is an input delay based netcode, you should always do your combos all in 1 motion, don't pause between inputs to wait for the moves to end as the combo won't string together, for Ermac I have literally no experience but I main Erron Black know all his variations, 2 Takeda variations, Tempest Kung Lao, Hunter Predator and a bit of Scorpion, as far as I know you won't need to wait, just make sure if you're using mix ups into special moves that the string is actually hitting as not many safe moves are plus on block, make sure you know what moves/strings/special moves are plus on block or at least neutral as if you do a safe string into an unsafe special move the opponent will punish you, I took a bit with Ronin Takeda to get used to this as I would do lots of back forward 2's after doing any safe....

    • @iSoryu
      @iSoryu 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Range string if I had meter to try and get a high damage combo, as long as you do clean inputs all in 1 motion with no pauses after making sure your moves actually connect with the enemy you should hit those long combos you're talking about, hope this helped :)

    • @stephenizthegodliest
      @stephenizthegodliest 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Range Ok so with Ermac I'm still not getting those combos, something about his Teleport really throws me off. However i did try what you suggested with Quan Chi and i was regularly hitting 30-35% combos! I've read that Quan Chi is really easy to use so I guess thats part of it but I am clearly able to perform combos a lot better just inputting them correctly 1 after the other without waiting for them to connect and finish. Thank you for the advice!

    • @iSoryu
      @iSoryu 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bill Gefitur I tried Ermac a while back, but as I mained Scorpion when the game first came out I always did the teleport for scorpion not ermac xD anyway glad to hear that you can get those consistent combos with quan! It's all good :)

    • @joaquinledesma1373
      @joaquinledesma1373 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bill Gefitur For the b12 after the air tele you should do it when you actually land on the ground. For online you have to basically get the muscle memory from offline practice mode and inputting the combos without guiding yourself visually because of the online input delay

    Hey, thanks for your video!
    However, I've got a problem. I'm practicing comboses, and while everything is fine when my opponent is standing, I cannot make a combo in real battle because of direction buttons going in the way. Let's say I want to make a 1 1 1 string with Sub-Zero - I try to get close to the opponent to make it, but nearly always system 'gets' that forward arrow - which results in completely different move, that's not the part of intended combo. Do you have any idea how to get rid of this problem?

    DAE have a hard time using the thumbstick when playing this game? I use an Xbox 360 controller on PC so I can't use the dpad (it's terrible!) but I find the thumbstick difficult to use. I keep inputting other directions in addition to my intended one, so much so I can't even move forward and back easily because i keep jumping. Is there any advice for this?

  • @alterego9618

    Ok so let me see if I understand this. replace the last button in a combo with special move right?
    Like 1,1,1 is a combo and forward back 2 is a special. I can do 1,1, forward back 2?
    Or does the special need to end with the same button the combo ends with?
    Like in my first example that wouldn’t work because the special ends in a 2 where as the combo ends in a 1
    Do I make any sense?

    • @RST_Omega

      1. Turn off release check in your controller presets
      2. If you're hitting diagnosis on d-pad, go into training mode and try to hit your combos without any extra buttons, diagnols, or any other movements that your combo doesn't require
      3. When using the d-pad lift your finger up a little as you're hitting the buttons
      Hope this helps
