My neighbor had the cardboard ship. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't very fun. You could sit in it if you were small enough... but nothing else, except use your imagination...
Pirates of Dark Water....man that brings back good memories to me. I remember my dad getting up early on Saturday morning and buy us a couple of McDonald's big breakfasts and by the time I would wake up he would be home with the food. We would have breakfast together and watch that show along with Reboot and some other Saturday morning cartoons.
Hahaha I don’t remember this one but even as a kid I wouldn’t have taken the bait. We could make our own spaceships out of a big Sears box. Just draw some control panels and cut a few windows on it and were ready for takeoff
I think I remember seeing this in Camelot 3000, where it was printed clearly on DC's new-fangled Baxter paper. Wasn't the inside advertised as a "creative space," i.e. it was blank on the back?
I remember I saved my money and ordered a dragon from the comic books I'm sure it was just an iguana or a bearded dragon or something like that but it never came I'm still waiting I'm starting to think my mom didn't write that check lol
We just made stuff out of normal cardboard boxes made them anything you wanted, crawled inside them and then busted them up. Great times. This thing looks like 💩
The intro to the video is going to give me nightmares for weeks...
try therapy for years!
I'll have to go through my old Powerman And Iron Fist comics from 1983 and look for that add.
Kids had more imagination back then than now. That cheap cardboard tent thing was absolutely a spaceship to some kid.
Aye!
This
16 seconds of nightmare fuel.....

eBay sellers looking at their watch count spike thinking someone is actually on the verge of buying this crap for hundreds of dollars

We need more Junk Kid!
Please NO!!!
I remember Dark Water. I had the stuffed monkey bird plush I won in a claw machine.
I deduce that that comic had nothing to do with The Pirates of Dark Water cartoon and toyline from 1991, right?
Damn Junkman has better de-aging software than Di$ney
That's it! When you mentioned Disney, That Face... I KNEW I'VE SEEN IT BEFORE... "DOPEY"! From Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs!😂😂😂

Rotfl, that was best 16 seconds ever! 😂 great video and jokes as well as the opening gimmick!
Junkman without his beard OMG scary.
No amount of cardboard spaceship, however goofy, will ever erase the memory of pure distilled creepy. 😱
Stop it, or I'm calling the cops.
Great video so thanks Junkman 😊
0:36 “back in 1983”… not with a Pirates of Dark Water comic.
And the Game Genie was definitely late 80's.

Yes The Last Star Fighter had a good lizard lol! 😂
Man, you look good in that intro! Clever, man.😂
I lived and breathed comics but I don't remember these ads at all.
did you collect marvel or dc? They of course ran different ads.
A lot of comic book ads sure seemed like scams too, especially the Sea Monkeys and X-Ray specs.
This was gonna be a sea monkey video but then I saw this when I was researching
"Sea Monkey Madness".
Name the movie, this phrase was an outtake from.
Zorcom slapped some ass and then the character was retired in the resulting harassment scandal.
Pirates of Dark Water issue 4 from Feb of 1992......thats no 1983 comic!!!!
This is a deep dive but i remember this ad
I remember I saved my money and ordered a dragon from the comic books I'm sure it was just an iguana or a bearded dragon or something like that but it never came I'm still waiting I'm starting to think my mom didn't write that check lol
Sound Trek huh?

Thought the comic was from 1983. Pirates of Dark Water came out in the early 90s along with game genie.😂😂😂😂
You must be the comci front the start, that was 1983 after intro is present day
As a kid I would've thought the cassettes were badass tbh
The name seems familiar, but I didn't own any of these.
Hey junk man just curious, love your videos but just trying to figure your age. I was born in 74 let me know. Thanks.
1972
