Mammoth! I love seeing scratch built models so much, I think it tickles the same parts of my brain that 3D modelling does, which is the field I'm coming from. Also recycling old toys is a definite good deed in my book. I do think the mammoth could use more... stuff? Gribbly bits? It's looking a little naked next to the new sculpts, but I definitely understand considering how long and hard you clearly worked on this video. With the time constraints and it being done by just you and Hatty, all of it is truly astounding work, very impressive.
Gonna be honest, while the other sculpts were clearly the product of lots of hard work and creative vision, I have to give the "favorite Squiggoth" award to Manny the Mammoth. Both as a testament to Manny's long-suffering career as a toy, and as proof that you can scratch build great things out of cheap materials. (Most Warhammer collectors have a surplus of sprues, for example).
When and where tf you be ordering. FW has never without fail sent my order within a couple days, only combining special products into an order like the mistake midwinter made usually does that. 💀
As an American, watching you vlog your "day trip" to France sort of rocked my world. So cool that you live in a place that a) you actually have good enough public transportation and b) you are close enough to be a train ride away from Paris!? Incredible. Very jealous.

Most of Europe is visitable from the UK if you get up early enough (depending upon where in the uk too) by either flight, train or ferry. It can be quite expensive though for a single day trip for some locations so better to do a weekend.
I hear you. But then again, we Europeans can't easily go to Vegas, the grand canyon, or The Metropolitan Museum in NY. Or whatever is relatively near you XD.

@@aidan-h3p I thought the entire ecosystem (squigs, grots, orcs, etc) was just offshoots of the same genetic stock. That's why a single ork corpse (and corresponding spores) can result in a full on orc infestation.
The gargantuan squiggoth is my obsession! I couldnt afford the money to buy the real thing, so i made my own out of sturdy cardboard tubes for a skeleton, glue heavy paper clay, tissue paper, and some oven bake clay for his mouth bits for the details. Despite my researcg, mine ended up quite a bit bigger than a real one. I plan to make more squiggoths, including a Khorne corrupted red one with an absurd amount of teeth and spikes. Thank you so much for this video, its literally the exact content i needed!
The quality of the Kromlech cast vs the quality the GW model further makes me lose any desire for a Forge World mini. That mammoth squiggoth tho 😍 great at video as always Guy!

I always said that Games Workshop quality and customer service went down and their prices went up since becoming publicly traded company this video proves my point, seriously wth.
I mostly agree, though I'm not sure you can say quality of the products went down. The resin stuff has always been a more serious project and that hasn't changed but the more 'default' models from GW now are really really good quality in fit and finish it seems, if strange in how they are broken up, the paints still seem to be good etc. The price is not so defensible compared to the others, but the quality of GW stuff after flirting with finecast has probably gone up overall I'd suggest.
quick tip! if you ever nick yourself in the finger or something with a hobby knife, I would highly reccomend cleaning the blood off the wound then quickly closing it up with super glue, its pretty easy doesnt hurt and there is no bandaid in your way for future hobbying. Plus, super glue and paper towel are typically right next to you when hobbying.

This is actually the use case super glue was invented for - closing bullets wounds on the battle field. However, super glue for the consumer market is typically not certified safe for this use. They have various ingredients and additives that you may not want in your blood if you have a reasonable alternative. Probably won’t kill you, but still.
I got a Shark Tyrant on Etsy which was approximately the right size and built a platform on its back out of coffee stirrers which comfortably holds and supports a 5" metal pirate cannon I'm using as a Supa-kannon, Ghaz, and 20 Orks all at the same time I was able to hide a magnetic sheet between layers of coffee sticks so all my models are magnetised down It was a fraction of the price of an official Forge world one, and matches my Freeboota army's aesthetic a lot better

Great work as usual! I was already struggling to stop myself from buying/converting/printing a Squiggoth as-is! One minor note, 28mm Heroic Scale is actually closer to 1:56, rather than 1:35- regular human 40k models like Guardsmen are roughly half the size of 1:35 miniatures. I think there’s a lot of confusion about it because 40k vehicles in particular are *huge-* even a Leman Russ dwarfs some real super-heavy tanks, so when you put 40k vehicles next to historical or modern 1:56 ones it looks like they’re out of scale.

I think i may have visited the same Warhammer shop in Paris. Of course i was out in that neck of the woods a decade or so ago when i was doing a Europe tour in College for an Art class that i did not require but a free trip to Europe is a free trip to Europe.
Man, I'm just getting started with this universe and the miniature painting hobby. My first army will be necrons (because, necrons...) but i honestly think GW developed the most genius orkz design of all times. I always said that EVERYTHING in the fantasy universe comes from LoTR and Tolkien's universe, but let me say that this might have surpassed the genius level of J. R. R. T. The fact that there's speculation on space marines being overpowered just because orkz see them as powerful humies is absolutely hilarious and I already know that my second army, in some years from now, will be orkz.
On it's own, I actually preferred the mammoth, but I think the others would look better in an army. I could see myself using the mammoth for a variety of games and not just orks. Gorgeous work as always and super enjoyable.
Kids maid the right choice. Also I have never heared the whisper. Really cool trick. Also also the "red rocket" ruined my day. Luckily the previously mentioned fixed it right up. No more space tech allowed.
That clear gorilla epoxy is great for gems and such - paint the surface underneath a solid color, and toss a blob of the epoxy over it, and it looks great once it's cured.
I remember back in the day (early 2000s, '01/'02 maybe?) seeing converted Squiggoths in White Dwarf made out of old dinosaur toys. Can't imagine GW letting that in these days.

I love how this video, you can see Guy combining a bunch of skills from previous videos together for this big project. If you're new to the channel and this looks intimidating, you should go back and watch things like the Scrap titan, Warlord titan, golden demon entry and stuff for context.
I must admit, the sheer size of the Gargantuan Squiggoth is hard to compete with but Kromlech's level of quality is incredible - especially if you consider the price. I just feel that the design of the Gnawzilla is a bit bland and too toad-y. Great paintjobs on all three though! And well deserved winners :)
Loves me some Orky content in a video and this is the biggest that can be done! I REALLY want a squiggoth but I don't know if I could ever justify it. I'd have nowhere to safely store it, it would gather dust and I can't be sure I'd ever get around to painting it. 😭 Still, excellent job! Might try for that gnawzilla from Kromlech though.
I remember back as a teenager in the early 2000s, I ordered an Epic scale gargantuan squiggoth for my Orks and Goblins army, to use as a mount for a leader!
All the things I've ordered from Kromlech, including weapons, have been very nice. Everything I've ordered from FW (starting in 2002) have ranged from acceptable to crap.
I’m quite the fan of Manny the Squiggoth and it’s giving me that itchy scratchy bashy feeling because I have an old knockoff Lego dragon/creature thingy that I’ve been meaning to build a howdah for and I think I’ll sort of copy your idea for building it 👍

at first I was flabbergasted at the casual trip to paris, but then I remembered I can just walk down to my city's central station and take a night train to berlin haha
In my head canon, Manny the Mammoth is actually pretending to be a squigoth. He randomly wandered into an ork camp one day, and to stop the orks from eating him, he covered himself in gubbins. The orks didn't question it.
I think especially given the price that Mammoth has to be winner for me. But I tend to customise everything anyway as there is something special about your model being that extra little bit unique and reflecting the story you had in your head not whatever the sculptor decided, so I'd always lean towards it. Though IMO an ankylosaur would have been the right toy to base it off as a comparison - giant furball just doesn't compare so directly to giant reptile.

I’m quite the fan of Manny the Squiggoth and it’s giving me that itchy scratchy bashy feeling because I have an old knockoff Lego dragon/creature thingy that I’ve been meaning to build a howdah for and I think I’ll sort of copy your idea for building it 👍

In my head canon, Manny the Mammoth is actually pretending to be a squigoth.
He randomly wandered into an ork camp one day, and to stop the orks from eating him, he covered himself in gubbins.
The orks didn't question it.

I think especially given the price that Mammoth has to be winner for me. But I tend to customise everything anyway as there is something special about your model being that extra little bit unique and reflecting the story you had in your head not whatever the sculptor decided, so I'd always lean towards it. Though IMO an ankylosaur would have been the right toy to base it off as a comparison - giant furball just doesn't compare so directly to giant reptile.
