i actually enjoyed how different it was from the original! like what sean said, i don't think i would've recognized it as hello future in the beginning if the title of the video wasn't right there in my face, but the recognizable parts were so beautifully composed and as an nctzen, i'm pretty much used to "bumpy road" type arrangements, so this worked wonders for me! i think it definitely paints the general picture of hello future well; it didn't aim to be a more cinematic version of hello future, but rather i think SMC went for "how can we make hello future our own" instead, and it was great! ✨
I looove how they added so many new melodic elements and actually enjoy how the different styles referenced appear, even back to back! It kind of creates the same surprise effect that i love in kpop and nct songs particularly!! It's fun to have no idea where the music will take you 😊 i wonder what moonshine and Adrian think of this version .... 🤔
Personally I really like this version as much as the original song. It kind of brings out different aspects in the song and they didn‘t approach it like they did with Red Flavour for example which has a lot of the original songs form and sound in general. Somehow I don‘t go into the SM Classics rearrangements expecting a orchestral version of the exact song but a little variation. It‘s exciting to listen to and as a listener of both pop and classic music it just is really really enjoyable.
thank God you made an analysis for this. 'cause like - the arrangement is beyond my understanding. haha I thought the Black Mamba was too much, but Hello Future went completely out of the box. but I love it. expanding my humble horizon on orchestration.
As a czennie and flute player, with hello future one of my favourite songs, I thought I’d be OBSESSED with the classical version but like I thought it was nice and then I kind of just forgot about it till this reaction video! 😅
i personally love this orchestra cover of hello future. it kinda reminds me of joe hisaishi + i love all the rachmaninoff and gershwin influences like sean said. i do agree that the pacing was weird at some parts, and i wish they would let some sections develop more but overall i like it :)
16:04 is deeeefinitely Rachmaninoff I recognized it from Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor I. Moderato. Also ya I do think the switches were cool and interesting, but I do wish they held onto those sections longer. Like that slow section at the end literally lasted for like 2 seconds I would've loved to hear it more developed, I just think the melody sounds gorgeous when slow. Especially cuz at concerts they play a much more smooth and flowy string-heavy version of the song so I was kinda hoping to hear more of that in this.
I definitely agree tho about the end being too push-and-pull. I think they were very ambitious with wanting to play with a bunch of styles and tempos, but they didn't really give enough time for that and it led to a lot of abrupt sections. I think they could've lengthened the piece since they were adding new sections anyways and that might've helped but ya idk. Still super pretty though lol
I've been waiting for your reaction! At first I was thrown off by how little they used from the song, and it didn't sound really familiar or sometimes cohesive. But I tried to listen to it more, and each time discovered something new. In the end I loved that it decided to deviate from the original, it felt like less pop and more (fast-developing) classical thing, which is interesting to listen and get used to. Like a separate inspired story. I love it when a result is not quite the same as an input :) Overall agree with the parts you guys liked. P.S. I want a shirt like Sean's 😭😭
i just love how they amde it sound so magical and very neo coded even with the orchestra. it's like a final scene from a disney movie, very nct dream 💚
I looked forward to this a lot because they had a different slowed instrumental version of the original melody at the concert. It sounded exactly as the song did, and it was on a piano so it felt magical listening to it. This one changed almost all the melodies of the verses and added some to the chorus. First listen was a little bit much for me as I was trying to figure out the flow and trying to sing along (gave up halfway when I realized the original melody was not going to be very prominent in here). My second listen was very enjoyable! There are ones that I like more than this, but this was a good treat all the same. Thank you for the reaction💚💚💚
y'know i feel like you guys should also react to old kpop groups, their songs has crazy vocals and some, has good orchestra. for example: MBLAQ - it's war.
I was so waiting for this reaction because i'm huge fan of SM classical and "hello future" orchestra ver. disappointed me as i found it too messy, there're too many parts of it that are just too beautiful and other parts i don't understand why they're here. For me it's a mess
Hey i miss your vids edit and songs reaction esp to sm artist. I'm always love all your reaction like the intelligence person of music react to kpop music. I just loved every reactions you guys makes
Since you (especially Umu) really likes Hello Future, i hope you will make a video reaction of Broken Melodies, cz the song has similar vibes with Helfut and also has This is Me (TGS) vibes and i think you will like it😊
Not the biggest fan of the arrangement, but still so beautiful 💚 It might also be because I’m heavily biased towards the orchestral version used during the dream show 2 😅
for me i liked the first section of the piece (until the end of the first chorus) AND this one phrase of the first line of the chorus played almost with strings only near the end. overall i think the separate parts of it are good, but kinda feels like they don't fit together(?
I did like it overall and appreciate the journey it takes you on, but I wish it stuck a bit closer to the original song. I like it less than the other Classics versions for that reason. I guess I'm looking for more of a classical version of the original song & a little less creativity on the arranger's part. I know that sounds terrible, but if you start adding this & that and getting extra fancy over here and what if we imitated this composer in this section......you end up straying far enough that it gets hard to recognize what it's supposed to be. 🤷♀ I'm still holding out hope for a SHINee classical version - preferably something crazy like Lucifer or Everybody. 😂
i actually enjoyed how different it was from the original! like what sean said, i don't think i would've recognized it as hello future in the beginning if the title of the video wasn't right there in my face, but the recognizable parts were so beautifully composed and as an nctzen, i'm pretty much used to "bumpy road" type arrangements, so this worked wonders for me! i think it definitely paints the general picture of hello future well; it didn't aim to be a more cinematic version of hello future, but rather i think SMC went for "how can we make hello future our own" instead, and it was great! ✨

NCTzen musicians yessss!!! It’s so much more meaningful to listen to the orchestra version with both of you rather than by myself 😊
thank God you made an analysis for this. 'cause like - the arrangement is beyond my understanding. haha I thought the Black Mamba was too much, but Hello Future went completely out of the box. but I love it. expanding my humble horizon on orchestration.
Renjun’s part is still so majestic.
Nctzen musicians react 😂 💚
Why you guys change the tittle? Its okay being nctzen 😂

I got GOOSEBUMPS at the end of this video the first time I saw it. When the tempo changed and then it got so soft? Holy. Smokes.
I WATCHED IT FIRST ON I CHOSE TO WATCH IT WITH YOUR REACTIONS... WE ARE BOTH FLYING WHEN WE HEARD THE HORNS BECAUSE IT REALLY SUIT THE SONG !
This orchestra is awesome 💚💚
i liked it but was a bit confused after the first chorus but i accept the creative freedom and interpretation
I've been waiting for your reaction!

i like it more wen i can recognize the melody completely
but still they did such a good job at what they intended to do
Even before watching this clip I already knew they would definitely like this version because they naturally liked Hello Future original version XD
It’s kinda hard to follow but i still loved the arrangement as it’s something new & different.
y'know i feel like you guys should also react to old kpop groups, their songs has crazy vocals and some, has good orchestra. for example: MBLAQ - it's war.
umu you're sooo pretty
Umu you look amazinggg
It's little bit messy, but I still love it! organ gets me every time! 💚
