Nice! Great to see you entering the bolt action! Great game, completely agree on movie feel to it and this being a feature of the game, not a bug. And at the same time the minis are system-agnostic - you can always reuse them in different ww2 systems if your heart so desires.

“The depth is on the table, it’s not in the rulebook”. This is the most enticing thing you said about the game, and this is one of the main reasons I stopped playing Age of Sigmar (and why I don’t play 40k): just piling up more and more rules like sauce on spoiled meat to disguise the fact that the core game itself is garbage. Both players should know the rules, obvs, but the overwhelming advantage shouldn’t go to the person who has the most free time to learn every little rule about their army and all the other armies as well. Memorizing minutiae and finding loopholes and wombo combos in a teetering stack of rulebooks isn’t tactics or strategy. I’m big into the hobby side, so a lot of what you said about the models turned me off, but if I give BA a try, it’ll be because of what you said about the depth of the game.
300 euros if you BUY the miniatures from Warlord. You can PRINT them. There is no restrictions about it even in an official tournament. I already have three 1250 points armies wasting only the price of 3 resin bottles for my anycubic.
Which miniatures did you use as proxys? Any good designer for that?
