Will pumping extra the first week help milk come in earlier or is it hormonal? I wouldn't want to drain the colostrum and have that also unavailable from breast but want to build as much of a stash as possible.
The first 2 months is what establishes the milk supply, after your milk comes in. I don’t think the first week will make a difference or make your milk come any faster.
He didn’t always feed for 15 minutes each side. Sometimes he would only feed for 5 minutes on one side and sometimes he would feed longer. I just let him eat until he was full, and I fed him on demand. So, I didn’t have a set time of when he ate. I just fed him when he was hungry for how ever long he wanted to eat. Sometimes it was 15 minutes each side, sometimes it was longer or shorter.
@@nataliafeenstra9415 he started eating faster as he grew, but at night he would eat a lot slower when he’s half asleep. He still does. Every baby is different though.
I would make one if I was familiar with it. I don’t do hand expression. Only breastfeed and use a pump. So I wouldn’t be a good reference to show this. I wish you the best of luck in finding and learning about it! Thank you for the comment.
