Melissa, particularly loved this vlog. Found it very useful for putting winter outfits together - leg lengths/ footwear, necklines etc. I know you've put the messages out in previous vlogs, but comparing the dos and donts really brings it home. Thank-you x
Wish I’d of know you in my 30s cause I can’t believe I’m learning how to dress in my 50s ! Thank you Melissa and the team I’m finally feeling chic and on trend 😘 yes please for the skirt video as I don’t wear them
Yes, I wasn't allowed to wear make-up or any 'fancy' clothes as a kid/teen...I got married at 19 and worked from 16 all my life to now, at 60, I retired due to poor health, and I've spent a couple of years focused of recovering, now I've been watching these shows, declitter and make-up shows. I've got rid of all my ugly, frumpy old clothes, got a whole new wardrobe, make-up shoes... and I'm loving spoiling Me, after putting myself LAST all my life!!!
I went to the dentist with my fake LV Damier Azure Neverfull from *gtdupe* and she gushed how much she liked it and said she had one too. I said "mine's a fake". And she said "So is mine."
Melissa, I found you a few years ago and since then I have enjoyed watching each of your videos. Today you showed how much difference choosing the right color sets makes. The fact that I saw different color versions on you is very useful. Thank you:)
I need to thank you Melissa. Your videos have helped me so much with self esteem and feeling good about myself! At 50 I'm finally learning how to dress myself. I'm so much more confident and I interact with people in a different way. People respond to me better and if I need help in situations I approach it much more positively and usually get what I need! Never underestimate the power of looking good!
Thank you for yet another great video. Melissa, you are AMAZING. There are many influencers out there on YT claiming to be stylists but all they do is just showing individual pieces. You are actually sharing the insider knowledge and teach us all how to put it all together "from head to toe" and be stylish. I am so grateful for your videos. Greetings from Texas!
Hi Melissa Can you get any better . I recently got rid of lots of old shoes and boots. I will know exactly what I will be looking for. I love coats and have lots, but I had to get rid of my puffer so will be getting one…that one is adorable. Not everyone can wear the barrel leg denim but you look quite edgy in them. I have to say I don’t look as nice as you in the evening, but I do remember having to look decent to go pick up my teenage foster sons. I need a new cream base , new boots , and possibly a new pair of jeans. I hope you know how absolutely adorable and knowledgeable you are. I love “seeing “ you , hearing you. Yes , I am a skirt wearer and could use tips. Thank you Melissa ❤❤❤❤
An excellent video with so much practical information and advice. I particularly enjoyed the basics of styling the whole outfit with coats, shoes and bags. Thank you. I would be very keen to watch a video about skirt styling.
Me too, being of Spring colouring, navy is my goto basic, but I realised the other day I am going to need a lighter oatmeal or cream base to liven it up. I’ve invested in some light coloured scarves to help brighten the dark navy base. I just can’t work out what coat to get as a pear shape because the oversized coats make me look really flat chested and my shoulders look even more sloping. Shoulder pads are definitely the way forward, methinks. Thanks @mmpersonalstyling for another helpful video.
I never normally comment on any videos but I wanted to say thank you for all your useful information. I’m 47 and after maybe 14 years of wearing and styling skinny jeans I have been feeling unsure how to style looser style jeans for a while now- I just about mastered the sandal and trainer pairings but as it’s getting colder I wasn’t sure what boots went with what jeans!! Thank you for your advice, it’s definitely helped me. ❤xx
Your videos are always terrific, but i loved, Loved, LOVED this video! I am a skirt wearer for sure; I find them more comfortable than trousers or jeans, so would really appreciate a skirt video. In particular different shapes of skirts (slip, trumpet, pencil, pleated, tube, a-line) and coordinating with shoes and tops. Thank you for sharing your expertise and advice with us!
I love your videos Melissa. I've learned so much about styling and as a result I am now looking and feeling much better in myself. My own clothes look so much better on me so thank you so much. Yes please a video on skirts! P.S. I live in Australia.😄
I make my own clothes and am due for a new wardrobe as my old clothes are getting tatty and I lost some weight. So this has been an excellent video to help me plan a capsule wardrobe, thank you! I will try and adjust for summer as we are having a very hot summer in South Africa. I am also planning to knit a new jersey for next winter so this has given me some ideas for that as well
Melissa, thank you for this video, it is so helpful. Wearing an off white sweater is so out of my comfort zone, I did pick one up at a cheaper price\quality to see if I can do it. I love lily silk and will buy theirs once I feel comfortable seeing myself in the lighter layering color. Thank you for addressing where the v neck should be for a larger bust, it really does make all the difference. I live in California so coats really not as needed, but I am applying your techniques with my lighter weight cotton trenches, and I am liking it so far. Thank you so much!
Wow! Superb video. So much useful information, especially about the jeans/footwear. Yikes!! Just bought a pair of wide-leg jeans yesterday and now skinnies are coming back?? 🙄 Yes, I would love to see more information on skirts (styles for different body shapes - especially petites!! - and the right footwear and third layer to pair with). Thanks again for such brilliant content. 🥰
I'd love a video on skirts - skirts of different length hemlines, with shoes or boots, and with or without tights. Thanks for the recommendation of the white base layer - it's changed the way I shop and the way I dress.
I enjoy and learn a lot from these videos. I have recently learnt that cashmere is often cruelly combed from the goats with a metal comb, and I dread to think about how they get the baby cashmere, so I wouldn't buy cashmere for this reason 😢
Such a helpful video, thank you for all the practical tips! Yes definitely, please a video on skirts 🙏particularly which shoes/boots to wear with knee length pencil skirts in winter please 🙏
Love this video. I have found it difficult to dress in layers, as i am in menopause and allways running warm. Would be so greatfull if you could do a video on different ways to layer and still look good!!!!!
Looking forward to a skirt video. I love wearing skirts and I have collected 50+ over the years then I realized that I need very few skirts and specific ones at that! I took most of my skirts to thrift!
Great video as ever! Even though its approaching summer in the southern hemisphere as I was buying a linen top online I could hear Melissa in my head. I checked for the v neck, the short, roomy sleeves that would make my arms look less, the inset sleeves that were slightly puffy to add width and thought about how I might need shoulder pads to take that sloping shoulder look away! What a great educator you are ! 🤭 Not a neutral colour but a soft pink that will complement all my other outfits! Great hint about the use of different necklines thank you!
Yes, skirt video, please! And what a good staple winter wardrobe, and you always put them together so well. And you have absolutely convinced me to get carrot jeans :)
I love your videos! I watch all of them to the end. Sometimes several times! I found them very helpful . After following you for a couple of years, I now feel much more confident in my own dressing. Thank you Melissa!!!!!
Wow! I learned so much. Black has been my go to forever, and since I decided to let my hair go to its natural grey I completely avoid cream/beige/tan. I can't believe how much adding that one piece uplevels everything. I'm ordering the little burgundy kitten heels right now, love them!
Could you please provide a link for the best pilling remover for the US market. I just love your videos and can’t wait to return to the UK for Christmas and go shopping for clothes. Not much choice where I live in Texas and it’s still 30 degrees so not much winter clothing choices for the uk climate x
You’re an inspiration and I always love your videos. What type of shoulder pads do you wear? Do you have a link for them? I used to buy them a loooooong time ago in the 80s and they worked magic. Took off several pounds. 😂😊
Ok, my shipment from M&S just came in (I live in Texas). I ordered the carrot jeans and they are PERFECT. I am 5.3 and 110 lbs and I ordered size 8 UK and in SHORT. I think Melissa is slightly taller (below 5.4 but a little above 5.3) so for her the REGULAR works better but for me SHORT is just the perfect length - I already tried with sneakers, flip flops, elegant kitten heels and pointed booties - these jeans look great with everything. Melissa THANK YOU !!!!! I have been looking for a perfect pair of jeans for a long time and these are exactly what I was looking for!
Thank you MM, again. Your videos are gems!! As I edit my closet for winter I am taking your advice and keeping my white tees in place, both crew neck and v neck! Also, I look better in v neck tops and will retry manipulating my v neck tee under my v neck sweater as you demonstrated.
I NEVER would have thought to use shoulder pads, but my bust is big and I need more structure because my shoulders are rounded. I usually look for straight seemed sweaters, but will try the shoulder pad trick!
I'm a petite, rectangular body shape with a bit of stomach, flat butt, and thin legs and just as you said, the carrot jean/barrel jean actually gives me shape and makes my middle (the widest part of me) look smaller than I really am. I have the Abercrombie barrel jean in washed black, and love it. Not everyone's cup of tea, but works for me. I just need to find a warm yet slim lined cropped jacket to wear with it! Really enjoyed this video, Melissa! Liked, subscribed!
@@trishhickson1550I agree, I barely put my coat on last winter, unless I’m going for a winter walk I find I don’t need my coats, I park the car outside my office and it’s too hot in the shops for a coat. UK climate is very mild on the whole x
Great video. I would love to wear skirts but see them as dressy items vs. everyday, like the silk skirt you show. That would likely hang in my closet waiting for a special occasion. A video to help style skirts for practical everyday wear would be of interest. Thank you.
You have such great information in all your videos of style wise wearable clothes for women of all ages and price points. I also love your body shape masterclasses
Another great video! As I continue to refine my wardrobe, sounds like I almost need to start with the shoes and work up! My shoe options are limited because I have a very small (size US5.5) but wide foot. I tend to put on an outfit and then throw on shoes that fit - but don't necessarily go the best.
This is so informative and helpful. I wish I could find the perfect jumpers like yours. I have shoulder pads which help but I hate wearing low tops or wide tops. They look awful me. I can wear a low v but not wide ones. Round neck jumpers don’t look good either. I keep looking. Thank you Melissa . 🌺🌺🌺
Thank you for a lovely video again! I know you did one last year but it would be great to have an update on coats this year. To have only a small selection of the basics suitable for most occasions would certainly help me!
Thank you so much. That was so helpful in terms of specifics of what is right and what is wrong in styling as well as what the necessary pieces are for a capsule wardrobe and why. I so appreciate the advice.
Thank you for another fantastic super helpful video. I would love to see you style skirts and would like to ask how to style short skirts or even minis for the autumn/winter season.
Such a useful video. Thank you so much…once again I wish I’d seen this years ago! But better late than never! Thank you for your time and suggestions for clothes that work.
Love these type of videos. Melissa does the brushed cashmere LS jumper & cardi pill and if so how would you get rid of that without taken off the brushed fuzzy effect? I’m a cashmere virgin! Thanks x
I absolutely love your videos. You’re so helpful and effortlessly stylish. Also, you’re so likeable and great to watch. Thank you so much for all your guidance and tips. I feel so much More confident dressing myself now. I hope I get to meet you sometime. I live in Dorset and will probably be starstruck!
Oh Melissa!!!! I loved everything and also loved how you styled everything. I loved everything soooo much!!! So, did I say I loved everything bwahahahaha!! 🤣 😂 🤣. Many thanks for sharing with us, I thoroughly enjoyed watching so much, it’s a shame we don’t have a lot of these stores where I live 😢but I will live vicariously through yours! Many thanks again and excited for the next video 🩷💕 Tina 💕🩷
Loved this video, so complete and informative - although it is frustrating that Lilysilk doesn't sell to Portugal and I'm always left wishing it did when I see your pieces. Video on skirts: YES PLEASE!
Thank you for another fantastic informative video. Please can you tell me which shoulder pads you use, I remember that you recommended a certain type in one of your earlier videos, I have been searching but unfortunately can't find the video where you linked it in the description. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge.
Such a great tip about the neutral white top! I didn't realise this before. When you put on the dark top instead it just looks awful and drab! Your point is very clearly shown.
So enjoyed your video. I ordered the white jumper and cardigan from lilysilk using your code. Thank you. I didn’t know whether to wait for Black Friday or not…but took the plunge. You wear it all the time so it must be great …
Hope you love them. I'm not aware of their black friday deals but if they are better then simply return the first purchase and purchase again under the better offer!
So useful as always Melissa 🥰 One of your best ! Think you should be made a dame for your services to the fashion industry !👏🙏 All for free too ! Thank you so much Xx
Guys, I just received my polar bear wool jumper from Aspiga - it is AMAZING. The quality is great, the color is perfect and the bear is super cute. I got it even though I live in Texas but I sometimes travel to other states as well as Europe. Highly recommend!
Love this! But can we talk about socks and tights? It's too cold to flash any ankle flesh out here in the sticks, so I would usually wear boots......however a lot of my socialising takes place around friends' houses, where on arrival all footwear has to be removed. It is too cold to pad around in bare feet and I have to show some sock! Would you recommend pairing sock colour to jumper colour? I'd love to see some of your skirt/dress suggestions with tights just for some inspiration - thank you! xxxx
I'd pair your sock colour to your trousers and better still, i'd take some slippers so you can still show your ankles but keep your feet warm at the same time.
What a useful episode Melissa and you’ve given me loads of ideas on how to update and upgrade my wardrobe. You showed many types of boots which was helpful but you didn’t say where the ginger suede heeled boot came from. Could you let us know please. Now just got to decide what cashmere I am going to get
Thanks Melissa for such an informative video, will definitely be looking for a cream jumper now. I’ve tried the carrot jeans but felt they weren’t flattering on me, interestingly you mentioned that they can make you look block like if you don’t have a well defined waist with curves and narrow legs / flat bottom ( that’s me), which shape jeans would you suggest instead ? Many thanks.
HELP! Being a larger busted woman, I have a much harder time finding V neck base layers. The v neck tee you show in the video from COS, looks like it's cotton. The v neck from COS listed on Moonshift is a linen tee. I would prefer cotton, and the linen one looks off-white. I would prefer a bright white. Have you found another retailer for a bright white short sleeve and long sleeve v neck? TIA! LOVE all your content Melissa!!!
Another great video. Don't wear a lot of skirts but I have invested in 2 longer knit skirts with matching knit top. Would like to see your take on that.😊
Melissa, particularly loved this vlog. Found it very useful for putting winter outfits together - leg lengths/ footwear, necklines etc. I know you've put the messages out in previous vlogs, but comparing the dos and donts really brings it home. Thank-you x

I fell in love with an store ( *suluxy* ) and bought a ton of their bags. A lot that look like the classic flap and they are leather,
I appreciate the demonstration of the black vs white base layers. What a huge difference it makes to the looks.
Yes skirt video please!!!! You are my absolute favorite! You have changed the way I buy and style my outfits… your advice is so good! ❤
Why am I just learning in my 40s that black isn’t as useful as other colors?! It is SO true. Now I need a video on how to make all of my black work😆

My shoe options are limited because I have a very small (size US5.5) but wide foot. I tend to put on an outfit and then throw on shoes that fit - but don't necessarily go the best.
Loved this video! Quite a few already on spring capsule wardrobes so glad to see a winter one ❤
Thank you for explaining jeans! So helpful!
You are so welcome!
Yes, would love a fall and winter skirts and dresses video!

You're the best Melissa! Great examples, beautiful clothes! Now I want some colder weather bere in Rome... 😅
Excellent video ❤❤❤
Thank you for another fantastic super helpful video. I would love to see you style skirts and would like to ask how to style short skirts or even minis for the autumn/winter season.
Such a useful video. Thank you so much…once again I wish I’d seen this years ago! But better late than never! Thank you for your time and suggestions for clothes that work.
Great Video! I too would love a video on skirts!!!!!
Noted!
Very informative and yes I’d love to see something on skirts, what to pair with them.
Love these type of videos. Melissa does the brushed cashmere LS jumper & cardi pill and if so how would you get rid of that without taken off the brushed fuzzy effect? I’m a cashmere virgin! Thanks x
No the brushed cashmere doesn't pill at all which is why I love it so much.
@ Thanks Melissa
Thank you for such a helpful and informative video - already looking forward to the next one!
I absolutely love your videos. You’re so helpful and effortlessly stylish. Also, you’re so likeable and great to watch. Thank you so much for all your guidance and tips. I feel so much
More confident dressing myself now. I hope I get to meet you sometime. I live in Dorset and will probably be starstruck!
Thank you so much!! x
Another wonderful video. It would be so great to see more skirts and thank you so much!
Many thanks again and excited for the next video

Thank you so much!! xx
Loved this video, so complete and informative - although it is frustrating that Lilysilk doesn't sell to Portugal and I'm always left wishing it did when I see your pieces. Video on skirts: YES PLEASE!
LILYSILK can deliver to Portugal, you can consult customer service first 😊
@@wynne3535 I didn't know that. My bank account won't like this 🙃
You are amazing, this is a great video with a lot of good information. Thank you for your time and advise ❤️
Yes, please do winter skirt and dress styling, that’s pretty much all I wear, year-round (can’t get a decent fit in trousers).
Great video. Thank you so much xx
Thanks so much for your help.
So useful as always Melissa 🥰
One of your best !
Think you should be made a dame for your services to the fashion industry !👏🙏
All for free too !
Thank you so much
Xx
Thank you so much!
Guys, I just received my polar bear wool jumper from Aspiga - it is AMAZING. The quality is great, the color is perfect and the bear is super cute. I got it even though I live in Texas but I sometimes travel to other states as well as Europe. Highly recommend!
Great to hear!
Great tips and tricks...thanks Melissa!!
@mmpersonalstyling Thank you! Great advice xx
So much fun to see your Videos. Hope though that this oversize season passes by quickly since I m only 1.6 m high 😊
What a helpful video! Thank you. I’d also like to see a video focused on skirts.
What a useful episode Melissa and you’ve given me loads of ideas on how to update and upgrade my wardrobe.
You showed many types of boots which was helpful but you didn’t say where the ginger suede heeled boot came from. Could you let us know please. Now just got to decide what cashmere I am going to get
It was from H&M but it's sold out so we've linked alternatives for you.
A mom ankle grazer or a bootcut/flared.
Would like to see your take on that.😊
Very informative video!! Thank you!!🥰
Great video🤩 SKIRTS, PLEASE!!!
