Around October when the leaves start changing color and falling, it starts feeling like Halloween, nostalgic fall memories kick in and I get an aching to watch these movies. I love October.
Hello and thank you for posting/ creating this video today on my Facebook group page I posted many example of Monster Toys and you helped me entertain my group ! Thank you.
The Wolf Man poem goes "Even a man who is pure in heart, and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf, when the Wolfbane blooms, and the Autumn moon is bright".
Yeah, I remember Clint Eastwood. He's basically a teenager who lost a lab mouse in a comic relief moment. Also Boris Karloff played the mummy Im-Ho-Tep. But then the sequels had a different mummy named Kharis. I also applaud you for knowing that Ygor wasn't the hunchbacked assistant.
For the record, Creature From The Black Lagoon is coming out on blu ray 3D in October along with 7 other Universal monsters (2D) in a box set for their 100th anniversary.
Legend has it the real count Dracula aka Vlad the impaler. The Prince of volykia fought and killed. The real Baron Frankenstein in a battle sometime in the late 15th century. I love the collection though and all the old movies. A nice Bella Lagosi impersonation.
I commented a month ago and now own all 5 series , all of them great collection, I`m opening the son of Frank right know and watch this video almost every time I get one thanks again
I remember Burger King (maybe McDonald's) did a promotion with one of the local Philadelphia channels (17-I think) where you got 3 -D glasses with your meal and then they showed the movie in 3-D after 50,000 commercials promoting it. This was mid/late 70's -I loved stuff like that when I was a kid!
I loved Karloff in Frankenstein but my favourite rendition of the Mummy was actually Chris Lee in the Hammer version. Think he played Kharis too. I do like Claude rains as the Father in The Wolfman & Lon Chaney Jr together. What about Renfield in Dracula 1931 though? He was creepy as hell!
@@cinemarxist_ I love The Invisible Man! That Movie was groundbreaking with it's Special Effects! I don't know who they made Claude Rains invisible on screen. But, wow! I love Claude Rains as Dr. Jack Griffin! RIP Claude Rains. 1889-1967. You are deeply missed.
dwight frye was also in bride of frankenstein movie as one of the murderers, he was the guy who the monster threw off the top of the castle or lab or whatever..
@@GreatLegendShow Oh, yeah! What struck me was the size difference between Lon Cheney Jr. and Claude Rains. You know, Father and Son, in The WolfMan, respectively.
I am a little late to the party...lol. I picked these up a couple months ago...they are so cool lookin...I bought them loose. I still need bela lugosi dracula...which you can't touch for under $100 it seems. Good stuff 2011 Legend!
Thanks so much buddy! I sold my Movie Maniacs, but still have all these figures. If I had more room I would get me a Detolf glass case from Ikea and show these off out of package.
Wish they kept making these figures. They probably would have made a bitchin Glenn Strange Frankenstein monster via Abbott and Costello. It'd have to stand at least 9 to 9 and a half inches.
Wow I just noticed you have an alternate Phantom with the red scarf. I had no idea these had alternates. No disrespect to Bela at all, but I really enjoy Christopher Lee as Dracula and Max Shrek as Nosferatu. Any idea why Sideshow made a '12 Nosferatu but not an '8? Thanks for the history lesson. One of the best toy documentaries on TH-cam lol
THANKS A LOT. Just when I thought I was happy with my other Universal Monsters collection I had to see this video. So what did I do? I went back and forth between Ebay and Amazon and bought 2 Frankensteins 2 Wolfmans and 1 Dracula. I always buy the big 3 whenever possible. I only bought 1 Dracula because it was too expensive to get two.
No, Kharis was a different Mummy, different Actor. Actually, Kharis was played by two different Actors, in separate Black and White Mummy Films. Boris Karloff played Imhotep.
Alan Rickman didn't know English? Are you sure? I mean, he was born in Hammersmith, in London. Personally, I think Christopher Lee is the better Dracula, across various movies. He just exuded charm and menace, sexual magnetism and a very predatory evil. Just briliant.
you , my friend know your classic horror ! It would be an honor to sit down and talk horror with you , I was watching this review in aw , not just because of your knowledge , but the figures are just amazing , please tell me you didn't brake them up and sell them , please tell me you keep them, and for christ sakes please tell me you will sell me the whole set, I know you did this fine review in 2011 but I`m hoping the horror figure gods are still around, thanks for the review
Mike Flynn Did you get a chance to open them up and display them all? I need to get rid of some of my collectibles, and maybe one day I will open these up and display them.
I display all of them ,, I can`t see having them in a box unless you already plan on selling them,, it`s no way to show `em if boxed , I just unboxed the whole sideshow collection 15 total , but I do have to get rid of some figures , sorry I haven`t put up a video yet but the weather is finally here !! keep in touch brother
+louis borselio Yep. He was like a limited edition figure. So limited it didn't even come with the black thread to tie his cape on to the figure. They actually sent that to me separately. I lost it though so if I ever open it I will use a random black piece of thread.
+The Great Legend Show I found two of the same Draculas you have. My 12 inch comes with the string but I don't use it. Instead I black sharpied one of the twist ties, wrapped it outside the cape around the back of the neck twist it twice in front and gave it a little subtle bow shape. I think button snaps in the shoulders would have been the best thing.
+The Great Legend Show They actually sent you thread separately? So let me get this straight. Dracula is an all plastic figure, including the clothing except for his cape. when mine come in I'll decide what to do.
+louis borselio yeah, pretty much they sent a black thread along with the figure and a little instruction sheet how to tie it in a bow. LOL! Hey must think I am dumb.
Jimmy Page 2001 yeah we got rid of those shortly after this video. So funny on that comment. I am sure tons of other people have the same bowling pins. My sons are 14 and 10 now, but we had some good times bowling with that set.
@@GreatLegendShow I'm less depressed because just yesterday I found a cool set with Imhotep not this exact one but it was called something like check toys or something like that.
Nooo, Boris Karloff played Imhotep, not Kharis. The Kharis movies were horrible (nothing against Lon Chaney, Jr., he had no speaking parts, so really not his fault)
Fabulous monsters !
Around October when the leaves start changing color and falling, it starts feeling like Halloween, nostalgic fall memories kick in and I get an aching to watch these movies. I love October.
Best month of the year.
Love October and the Halloween season so much!! I actually start celebrating the season, a little early, in September.
These by far are the best Universal Monsters action figures I have ever seen.

That's a real nice collection.
The Wolf Man poem goes "Even a man who is pure in heart, and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf, when the Wolfbane blooms, and the Autumn moon is bright".
Great knowledge and some very good impressions. Well done.

I Can Live Forever But, don't forget that Ygor was the one who gave Frankenstein the abnormal brain. Good one, Ygor!
@@christinedaae1892 Yeah. Good one, Igor! And it was Fritz, who was the hunchbacked assistant to Dr. Henry Frankenstein.

You are very welcome! I love them. The detail on the figures is amazing.
***** they really are , even the wife likes them, you wouldn`t by chance still have Boris , Dracula?
Yes. Have Frankenstein's Monster, Mummy, and Bela Lugosi's Dracula. Love them!

Karloff & Lugosi, very cool.
I have these my parents gave them to me a Christmas gift in 2016.

@@crystalgriffin6168 it was john Fulton, who is one of great special effects technicians who did the 1956 ten commandments and won an oscar
Also got many oscar nominations for the other invisible man films .
You should have sold Frankenstein and his Bride as a set. You know? Mr. and Mrs. Frankenstein. They are in love!
Sadly in the film the bride resents him. So as iconic as they are as a couple, she actually hated him
dwight frye was also in bride of frankenstein movie as one of the murderers, he was the guy who the monster threw off the top of the castle or lab or whatever..
I am starting a phantom of the opera collection and can't wait for september
I love The Universal Studios Classic Monsters! I especially love Griffin The Invisible Man! Who's your favorite Universal Studios Classic Monster?
Loved Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolf Man! He's my favorite!

omg i love the phantom ive watched all of the movies and seen the musical
Man can I tell you how awesome u are
Can I get some more information about the toy, i'm interested in buying.
great collection.
Where is the lon Chaney 1923 hunchback of Notre dame? That was one of universal's biggest hits.
Wish they kept making these figures. They probably would have made a bitchin Glenn Strange Frankenstein monster via Abbott and Costello. It'd have to stand at least 9 to 9 and a half inches.
Oh and how much will the phantom be? I really want him.
Ocean man take me by the hand lead me to the land that you understand
What?

Dr Jeykll and Mr Hyde
It would have to be the Abbott and Costello version. Which wouldn't have been bad. The Frederic March which most people know is from Paramount.

No, Kharis was a different Mummy, different Actor. Actually, Kharis was played by two different Actors, in separate Black and White Mummy Films. Boris Karloff played Imhotep.
the phantom of the opera!
Are you saying " This is the great legend Shemp Howard" ?
+louis borselio Yeah used to be my Xbox Live Handle back in the day.
Are they all gone?
Hard to believe that they're going to be 100 years old and the ones with Lon Chaney Senior is over.
I can't manage to find these gems on eBay :(
I think there was also a Mole Person figure
where are you buy
