I agree. Textural differences are important but if you’re going to do the all black look they need to all be true, fresh black. Navies need to be the same tone navy. Or as you say visually look the same.

Hi, Sarah. I have a friendly style tip. Dark charcoal grey doesn’t have the same clean, smart, affluent look as all black unless it’s a business suit. It just doesn’t have the same impact. I hope my comment added value to the dialogue.
@@marcellax4556 It depends on the fabric, the style, and the accessories. @@k.m.j.coutinho4390 you certainly can have tattoos and still be a classy, elegant, feminine woman. It's making sure they aren't covering your arms, neck, etc. Nothing obvious for example. I have several small and discreet tattoos and I count myself as a very feminine woman who has confidence, I'm clean, polished and a professional. I think perhaps you could be less judgemental as it is not an attractive quality. I'm all for girls supporting girls, we all should be! ❤Let's not knock each other down, there's enough of that in this world, and I think we can all express our individuality in such a way that means we are still elegant, feminine and accepting of one another. As I say, being judgemental is not a great quality ❤
P L E A S E don’t use the word “classy”, when you mean “classic”. I don’t even understand why it’s in the dictionary, but maybe it’s like the word “ain’t, not for usage, just to identify that it is a word some people say. Please don’t! I appreciate the appropriate taste of style in your appearance. I am enjoying your hard work. Two thumbs up! This ones a winner!
I LOVE this video!! Great ideas for a classic capsule wardrobe. I’m getting tired of the current trend of high priced, low quality, “trendy” boutique styles. Thanks for the reminder of what REALLY looks good.

This is by far the best style video I’ve seen here on TH-cam. You focused on clean, timeless, sophisticated and classy pieces that are easy to put together and the result is a smart, polished look. Thanks so much!😉
I love all the styles you showed. I love the black outfits and the white outfits. I always love using sunglasses to add a little life and fun to an outfit.
Thanks! These are great tips. As I am turning 40 this month(!), I am learning how important fit & age appropriateness are to the success of my style and feeling confident
Great tips! What tips do you have for accessorizing when wearing glasses or headbands/barrettes? I walk with a cane, for example. Does that count as an accessory? Thanks
I'm slim (5'4" 118lbs) but I'm also 50 and I think SHAPEWEAR is very important, especially when wearing white!!! I'm also bad at putting together expensive looking outfits (mainly tops), so I've invested in Jumpsuits this summer. I did splurge on the Blogger-favorite wedges from Nordstrom in the Summer Lookbook you did, in white, and I love them! 😁 LOVED this video!!!
You look fantastic in everything! But it is easy to look fantastic when you are so beautiful and thin. Being thin helps these clothes drape beautifully on you.
You are so right! It doesn't mean a bigger woman cannot look fantastic and find the right outfits, but being thin and tall makes half of the way to a nice outfit already. I was always very thin then I had my baby and was 25kg (55 Lbs) above my weight for a few months after the delivery. Things dont look so good as easily and I started spending lots of time trying to make the right outfit for my new body (and as I use to be a model I understand about outfits for each body type). I never thought it would be so difficult. Now Im back in my old shape and is again so easy to play around with the clothes. But understanding the struggle was a good lesson too. :)
I love the Denim blouse, white tank top, Tan color Leather blazer with copper jewelry) and dark wash or White jeans with tan ankle boots or White Leather Sneakers combinations.
I love this Video. Every tip you gave i agree with. I have always dressed monochromatic. My favorites are white, black and ivory. Thanks so much. The other tips on accessories I love as I have invested money in great handbags and jewelry. I need to invest more in shoes. Thanks again. Retired but still styling.
Short women looks good in socks or shoes, who has the same colour as the pants, bcs the legs will look longer. Short jackets, shirts and sweaters will make you look taller.
I love the content of your show. Plus the added bonus for me is that we have the same color hair & eyes. As you know, that's important to know for styling correctly.
For bags my weakness is Coach, I LOVE my mollie, that was a treat to myself after ankle surgery & recovery, I have six pieces total including a wallet, wristlet & little black purse, my crossbody & especially the zipper card case with the chain though are the two I currently seem to be using the most. For the other styles, I go with the 'amazon versions' ;) I have three amazon bags that are very similar to the iconic quilted Chanel bags, also an amazon version of the LV Pochette Metis, these four are a very small fraction of the designer price & equally as structured & stylish :) Jewelry, yes, I do prefer more simple, dainty, not looking like a Christmas tree... lol. My clothes, I followed the 80/20 rule & it made pulling pieces to pack for our upcoming trip so much easier! 80% classic pieces, 20% trend... I have the garment rack with what I plan to take, not many pieces but every single piece can be mixed & matched to make several outfits, more than enough for our little over one-week trip :) Oh, the camel coat... I found my dream vintage camel coat at an antique shop, it is a winter staple & I have gotten so many compliments on it, I love it!
I love the idea of looking lux and classic pieces. My goal is to look my best not impress others with fake expensive items. No reason for that in my opinion. I'm here to live my life!
Love it! I get tired of wearing the same stuff all the time. So I hesitate about purchasing an extremely expensive item. And, I'd rather put those funds towards retirement. :) Love these tips! Just because we don't want to spend a fortune doesn't mean we have to look cheap. Thank you!
Thank you! I just happened to receive an oversized pair of square black sun glasses 🕶. I thought… oh no what did I order?? But they are the same or similar to what you shared which look amazing. I am relieved that these are still trendy. I really enjoyed this video. Soooo helpful!! ❣️
All good tips, though this almost 70 year old retiree is disinclined to head out for several hours in pointed toe shoes, after decades of scrunched toes. I do believe that women can be both stylishly classic and comfortable without causing pain. Speaking for the older women, who want to refresh or maintain stylish closets, I would like to point out that there are some stylish flats that look luxe. They have nicely cushioned inner soles with stable, yet flexible structure that is covered by nice quality leather that maintains support for the feet and shape for neat appearance. I choose various loafers without boxy thick toe areas or thick "clunky" rubber type soles. Flat flats or one inch heels, with tapered, though not pointed, toes are kind to aging feet and can be worn with jeans as well as dress slacks and suits. I do like low to mid-height heels with tapered toes with skirts and dresses, because tiny toes are simply dangerous for weak, older ankles. Reflexes to help one regain balance or catch when having a fall become problematic. One doesn't have to be approaching her seventh decade to need foot stability built into all shoes. This may sound like I am discussing a category of women who are inappropriate in watching your videos and reading your blogs. That isn't the case, because your style points about clothing are pertinent for every age and your color tips are right-on. I relate and adhere to most every style point that you suggest, except when they come to shoes. We older women need stability and safety to be of more concern than style, when style affects safety negatively. I have always felt like shoes are designed for men's enjoyment, rather than women's. I have always prefered comfortable shoes, and have worn Naturalizer, Life Stride, etc for stability, because I have always had to walk quite a lot on jobs, and I didn't want to cause myself hours of pain every day and perhaps even serious foot problems in the future. Looking forward to more from you. Barbara in the beautiful hills of middle Tennessee and Nashville, Music City.
Barbara Brewer, I just bought a pair of Eastland shoes this week and love them! They are super cute flat shoes and comfortable right out of the box. I have foot problems and never wear heels anymore. They even have a memory foam insole. I am middle aged myself, not nearly as stylish as Busbee, but I maintain a classic New England look, more about the camel peacoat sort of thing (until it gets too cold) and rarely get into full dressy clothes too often.
A little over 70, I had exactly the same reaction. There's a company called Naot (Israel) that make very attractive low shoes with good support. I have a bronze colored pair I love, and hardly wear any other brand. I do often find that low boots can be comfortable and look dressy.

Loved all the tips! As always Erin, you looked lux in everything! : ) The last tips I agree are so important. A proper smooth foundation, proper fit/alteration are key. Personal polish with the perfect measure of confidence, no matter the price point you are wearing is lux! To add: Footwear in good condition with no signs of wear is a must too. : ) "Make your smile your signature accessory...it's the one curve that sets everything straight" ~someone brilliant once said. Gosh I wish it had been me!
Erin, I always, always learn something I can apply to my life when I watch your videos. And thank you! I confess that with your wit and wisdom, I've really streamlined my personal style. God bless you and your sweet family😊
Fantastic video Erin! Have a few more comments if I may. 1. Buy used. Second hand >>> second rate. 2. Listen to Erin and make sure clothes fit perfectly. A jacket that won't button/zip with too long sleeves is going to make you look dumpy no matter how expensive it was. Ditto for jeans, if pockets are stretched to distortion, they are too long/short or the waist is gappy they look very Wal-Mart. 3. Don't wear cheap plastic earrings. I know they're trendy right now but they deflate the whole look.
Thanks for sharing, Susan! Great reminders! I tackle much more of the shopping side in my first “look expensive on a budget” video including my favorite online consignment stores, flash sale websites and online retailers!
Loved this. You’re right about the white. I used to NEVER buy white, especially since 3x kids , but it does take an outfit up a notch. White is my summer color this year. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great compilation! I've always struggled with having curly hair. I think that sleek straight hair has always looked more chic. Do you have any suggestions for those of us with curly hair?
I wonder this as well. I love my curls but I get more comments from coworkers about how I look more professional, my age, and prettier when my hair is straight or in that blow-out style. It's upsetting to think that just because I have my (beautiful) curls that my coworkers or boss thinks I look frumpy or not professional. Also, I do sometimes feel like my curls make me look younger (I'm 29 but commonly get mistaken for a 20 year old and frequently get treated like a teenager *sigh*). Sometimes I just want to look and feel my age but I have no idea how to keep my curls while doing so. I see straight-haired girls wear a lot of different hairstyles and I'd love to be able to have different styles that I could play with. Right now all I can seem to find are: wear your curls down, wear them in a ponytail, wear them in a messy bun, or straighten your hair. I also hear that we can put accessories in our hair but I always come out looking like a little girl who got into her mom's hair supply drawer. I LOVE my curls but I do sometimes wish I could have fun with them like straight-headed women do with their hair. I feel like your 20's and 30's are a time that you should be able to play and have fun with your style, and I'd love to do that with my hair as well.
Black is the colour that the majority of people wear less well because it makes most people look very pale. I would recommend colour analysis to find your colour appropriate dark. The same with white, stark white can be just as harsh as black to some complextions. So use colour analysis to find if soft white or creams are more flattering for you. Then only choose the appropriate gold to the warm colours and silver with the cool.
The best items in my wardrobe are second hand, Ive got a 1970s tailor made cashmere coat, the equivalent today would cost a fortune (who has their coats made anymore? And from cashmere!) And Ive got a few really good leather handbags, also some dresses that were expensive once, but just a few £s from the charity shop. Ive recently cleared out my wardrobe, when I was finished I noticed these were the things I kept. The items Id bought new had dated and looked cheap. Im done with disposable fashion. Its better to have fewer good quality, second hand pieces than too many cheaper, lower quality new items. And these days we can say 'vintage' rather than 'second hand!'....The same goes for costume jewellery, Ive got beautiful vintage 1950s jewellery that cost the same as todays costume jewellery, but the quality is superior
Rayon is beautiful, it drapes and flows perfectly, polyester can be good depending on how it spun. Please rethink rayon I consider it to be very high quality.

No matter how well you are dressed, once that comes out of your mouth, the illusion is shattered. Thank you for reading; I just have a real grammar fixation, and always welcome any input on the subject.
Its refreshing to watch someone use the advise that they are sharing. After viewing a few of your videos Im positive your audience would agree that you always look amazing. I appreciate the appropriate taste of style in your appearance. I am enjoying your hard work. Two thumbs up! This ones a winner!
Thank you, Tracy! xo
I LOVE this video!! Great ideas for a classic capsule wardrobe. I’m getting tired of the current trend of high priced, low quality, “trendy” boutique styles. Thanks for the reminder of what REALLY looks good.
Thanks, Beth! The trendy pieces can be difficult. I always like to find less expensive trendy pieces and stick to the basics when I can! If you haven't already, check out my Style Reboot series: th-cam.com/video/zUxjqJAfdPg/w-d-xo.html and wardrobe basics videos: th-cam.com/video/eCMP0RrI-vQ/w-d-xo.html
Thanks so much for watching! Erin xo

I just noticed that all your pieces over the years are still something you can wear currently...Due to them being more timeless, classic and elegant and just pulled together ❤️ ✨️ 💖
Your a beautiful soul, great fashion sense and elegant! Thank you. I created a wardrobe from this video and now I'm off to shop!
Thank you so much, Michelle!!! Made my day! 🤗
Excellent tips. This is one of your older videos (lots of time now that we are on lockdown) but still on point.Be safe.
I'm SO glad! I love adding in a pair of statement glasses too! xo
Unless the rule has changed all glasses available in the USA are required to offer UV protection. Even the clear ones at Claire’s Boutique!
I disagree. There are some "big" women who know how to dress their bodies well. I think one just has to find confidence in themselves.
@@cantushea4659 I really agree. - although L Jones also makes a good point.
I disagree I think she looks too thin and it makes her look old.
So true. It's not impossible to look elegant at a larger size but it becomes more difficult. And I think you need to spend more to get there.
Thank you 🌺💖🌹👑🏆 I'm proud to see that I already do most of these Awesome ideas!
A great tip about the white button-down shirt: all my button-downs are no-iron, fitted Brooks Brothers shirts. They are sublime perfection!
Thank you, Roxana! xo
Erin!! You look absolutely gorgeous and happy! Love this video!
I'm so glad! Thank you! xo
Could you make a video for short women learn how to look elegant and chic, please?!
I
Short women looks good in socks or shoes, who has the same colour as the pants, bcs the legs will look longer. Short jackets, shirts and sweaters will make you look taller.
I love the content of your show. Plus the added bonus for me is that we have the same color hair & eyes. As you know, that's important to know for styling correctly.
Thank you, Maria! xo
Amazing! Love your elegant style. Thank you!!
Thank you so much, Yuno! Erin xo
Thank you so much for.the tips!!I will apply this to myself.
Glad it was helpful, Jen! xo
Beautiful styling tips , sunglasses recipe cute, I can’t step out without my sunglasses
I always wear sunglasses, even in the winter time, having at least 20 - lol
For bags my weakness is Coach, I LOVE my mollie, that was a treat to myself after ankle surgery & recovery, I have six pieces total including a wallet, wristlet & little black purse, my crossbody & especially the zipper card case with the chain though are the two I currently seem to be using the most. For the other styles, I go with the 'amazon versions' ;) I have three amazon bags that are very similar to the iconic quilted Chanel bags, also an amazon version of the LV Pochette Metis, these four are a very small fraction of the designer price & equally as structured & stylish :)
Jewelry, yes, I do prefer more simple, dainty, not looking like a Christmas tree... lol. My clothes, I followed the 80/20 rule & it made pulling pieces to pack for our upcoming trip so much easier! 80% classic pieces, 20% trend... I have the garment rack with what I plan to take, not many pieces but every single piece can be mixed & matched to make several outfits, more than enough for our little over one-week trip :)
Oh, the camel coat...
AGREED.
I always hit the like button before watchin ! Love your personality and look ❤️😊
I do love a structured bag! I want to be able to find things in there.
Haha! Yes, me too! Thanks for watching, Christine! Erin xo
Thanks for all your tips! Taking notes ❤️ merey Christmas! You have such a beautiful smile 🥰
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you and your family! xo
Love it! I get tired of wearing the same stuff all the time. So I hesitate about purchasing an extremely expensive item. And, I'd rather put those funds towards retirement. :) Love these tips! Just because we don't want to spend a fortune doesn't mean we have to look cheap. Thank you!
Exactly, Kim! xo
I just found your videos and subscribed. I love them and I am binging like a sponge over here thank you!
Yay! Thank you! Welcome, Jeanette! xo
Hey Erin you look incredible can you do a video regarding your diet and exercise routines as of late?
Hello
How about pointed toe flats? Or sling backs?? Or just dressy flats?? I did a whole video on flats and the comments/suggestions are awesome:

You should do a video. With your years of experience, you would bring a different viewpoint to this discussion.
I'm very impressed with your video here. You have great fashion sense with wise tips on putting proper clothing together to look expensive, chic, and elegant. Thanks for sharing and keep posting great videos!🌟🌟
I enjoyed this video so very much! I love all the tips and suggestions. I'm starting a new job next week and I needed this "refresher course" type video. My new job is at LOFT Outlet so I can get creative with what I wear while staying classic and sleek. Thanks so much! xoxo, Cynthia
Wonderful- congrats on the new job! ~Erin xo
This is my favourite of your videos. Good job, Erin!
Erin, what is the jeans brand you're wearing during the belt tip? Love them!
Loveeeee the all white outfits that’s going to be my go this this summer. And idk why but you look more radiant than usual in this video 😍😍😍😍
27 and petite & struggling to “adult” my wardrobe without losing my style (and just going for the boring “adult” styles).
Definitely checking out more of your styling tips 💙 thank you so much!!
Thank you! Even at 27, many of my tips will work for you. I'm so glad that you find my videos helpful! xo
I would hesitate to suggest an all-white look to just anyone. As you mentioned fit, style, and fabric are all critical ( not to mention the same for undergarments), you really have to know what you're doing to pull it off
Love all the advice and your hair looks so good up like this. ♥️
Your vedios r always very useful n informative! Thanks for all the efforts u give.. appreciate it. . 😊💜💜💜
You're so welcome, Kaniz! xo

You are SO sweet!! Thank you, Victoria! Growth on YT is such a funny thing. No exact science or formula to it all ...and some grow very quickly while others grow steadily.
Thank you Erin. Quick question do you have a recommendation for a men's site similar to yours for my husband please?
Love, love, love your videos! They are so well put together and I love how you show examples of each point you make. You make a sometimes daunting topic so easy to accomplish - thanks for all your expertise!

Thank you! Happy to have you here, Amelia! xo
"Make your smile your signature accessory...it's the one curve that sets everything straight" ~someone brilliant once said. Gosh I wish it had been me!
Smile, yes....... smile, I forgot to bring with me most of the time. A great reminder, Busbee! 🙏 xoxo
😁😁😁😘😘😘
Great advice! BTW - don’t ever cut your hair - this long length looks AMAZING on you.

Hello
wow, I love the pearls. I don't think you have to wait for fancy occasions to wear pearls. You can wear them all the time and that's okay.
Hi Erin! This is one of the most informative videos I’ve watched. Thank you for sharing these tips! I’m etching them into my brain. :)
I love that visual... store this in the back of your mind for easy and effortless style!!
And I always had "chives curls" - which is none at all - and wanted locks.🤷♀️ Wear your hair - with confidence!😉
Thank you so much. We need more videos like this.
Thanks for watching, Elsa! Erin xo
I love these tips! Thank you!! Great video! ❤❤ Always walk with confidence
Just found your channel. Love all the tips and advice. Subbed! ❤️
Hello
Ok I absolutely love your channel, you are so fun and awesome tips 😻
Thank you so much, Svetlana! xo
I find so much quality and expensive clothing at the thrift stores.
Erin you are wonderful. Love everyone of your videos. Thank you.
I have to watch this video one more time. It is awesome. I just love your style so much ❤️
Aw, thanks so much!! I have a couple more good ones coming up!! Tips to looking more stylish, and summer LOOKBOOK!! 😘😘
LUXURY LOVER
Rayon is beautiful, it drapes and flows perfectly, polyester can be good depending on how it spun. Please rethink rayon I consider it to be very high quality.
This is one of my favorite videos of yours! Love, love, love the pearl necklace and black dress. I like this video so much I'm going to rewatch it later when I have more time :) Have a great weekend!
Yay! Really? Thank you so much!! Another one like this coming next week. Styling tips!
Love all these tips and tricks. Going to reflect and refer back to this one time and time again when I need to. Thank you. You do such a great job putting it all out there. ❤️
