  • The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has taken over the world and completely altered our daily life. The restaurant industry is one of the hardest hit by this crisis, and if we don’t support our local restaurants now, they might not be around when this is all over.
    Hart Bageri, one of our favorite bakeries in Copenhagen, has remained open during this lockdown serving take-away sourdough bread, pastries, sandwiches, Basque cheesecakes, and coffee. In this episode, we meet with owner Richard Hart to talk about his bakery and how they’ve adapted to these strange times. Hart has added many safety measures in the bakery, but they’ve also added free home delivery to help encourage people to stay at home. They’ve also created some fun new products, like a pizza kit with dough and all the toppings for you to have a pizza night at home.
    Next, we meet up with Solfinn, the owner of Rødder & Vin, who has also turned to delivery to keep his business afloat during these times. Since he can’t have his shop and bar open right now, he’s bringing the natural wine boutique to you! Whether you’re craving a “smagskasse,” a six-bottle box curated by Solfinn, or you just want a bottle of something juicy, Solfinn will bring it to you via the bike lane - with no time slots and no delivery minimums. Solfinn’s glass-half-full attitude in regards to this crisis is contagious!

    I like Richard Hart. Tartine is such a great bakery. My chef texts me recipes from their book all the time. I hope he makes a cookbook soon. I need as many Basque cheesecake recipes as I can get! Glad to see they are doing well.
    Thank you guys and stay safe.

      Professional bakers have burn marks all over their hands and arms. They keep it hygienic with good hand-washing routines.

    God I really despise the Chinese government! This is all their fault! People should be enjoying food and going out and traveling! This has really put a dent on people's lives. Hope this pandemic ends soon.

    • @andersandkaitlin
      @andersandkaitlin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We're all going stir crazy, but blaming the Chinese government is a little one-sighted. They failed on their part, but so did a lot of other governments. That said, there are lots of reasons to be critical to the Chinese goverment...
