    I would love to see a master out on these units so u can route the main audio to a fm transmitter. Then it can also be used as a main mixer in a radio station. That would kill all those expensive broadcast mixers out there

    B&H , what is the presenter using at the end of the mic to plug in the XLR ? it appears to be a wireless transmitter but I can't make out the brand / company ? it sounds great and I love how it connects and is low profile. Please let me know what model that wireless set up is. thank you, B&H !!

      AB is using the famous Shure SM7B Vocal Microphone
      BH #SHSM7B. It is a wired XLR microphone. The "wireless transmitter" that you are identifying is actually the included Swivel (Yoke Mount) Stand Adapter that features an integrated male XLR connection. >Mark

    This looks like a great product. I’ve used the Tascam DR-40 to record my podcast for 10 years. I’m looking to upgrade and this is in the running with the Zoom Podtrack 8. Any chance TASCAM makes a 6 XLR input version of this?

    Aaron,
    Question:
    Are the TASCAM Mixcast 4’s separate ‘multitrack’ .WAV files (which are saved to the SD Card) like the .WAV files exported from the Zoom PodTrak P8? I.e., do the multitrack files need to be converted by the TASCAM Podcast Editor Software prior to opening them in, say, Logic Pro X on the Mac or Cubasis on the iPad?

    This seems great. I had the Rodecaster Pro and it was quite good, though it is limited to 16bit 44.1khz which is odd in this day and age, but mostly the Line Input was on mini jack and couldn't handle +4db, so distorted the signal of Keyboards/other audio interface. I moved onto the Behringer Flow 8 which has the inputs and the quality but the Mic channels only have a 1 knob Compressor, which isn't subtle and EQ, no Gating or Enhancer etc. Worst is there's no dedicated Mutes, it has to be done via the App which is quite bad.
    Question - Are you using the Shure SM7B directly without a Cloudlifter or is the Tascam handling the preamp of it ok?

      I ask mayself why all these companies are not capable of producing a good nearly perfect piece of hardware. Every company has 2-3 diwnsides. Most have only 48Khz maybe 96Khz. If they have 192 then only 3 faders, or no EQ etc etc. But who knows the secret limits of companies

      Yes. The USB interface function allows for live-streaming >Mark

    • @HomesickMac
      @HomesickMac 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did this by routing the overall audio from the monitor output out of the Mixcast --> into the Audio 1 input on the Atem Mini Pro. I uses a stereo 3.5mm jack (not TRRS) for this. Beware of the input gain levels and Master Output in the Atems' Atem Software Control because this could add noise. I've also experimented with sending the Headphone Output from the Mixcast to the Atem and it tends to be a little smoother. But - if you're not streaming _directly_ from the Atem Mini Pro but from the computer, then I'd just hook up the Mixcast as an audio interface through USB-C and chose it as my audio source. I did this from Ecamm, ZOOM, Microsoft Teams... Good luck!

You'll be able to record up to 14 tracks at a time straight to an SD card, or record stereo over USB straight to your DAW, or streaming platform. Very good walkthrough, thank you. I'll have to complain about the USB Delay that Tascam Mixcast 4 claims to postpone the audio from the unit - all in order to sync with video signal for live broadcasting or recording. I have the latest firmware in my Mixcast 4 and all USB Delay does is it acts as a... delay pedal for the guitar. It adds another "me" and the speed of that depends on how many ms I assign. I've tried _everything_, from 2-3ms to 240-260ms (which usually works great in Rogue Amoeba Audio Hijack app), but the Mixcast only doubles by voice/words, whatever I say. I've gone through the manual and I can't see I'm doing anything wrong...

    • @BandH
      @BandH  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The TASCAM Mixcast 4 Podcast Mixer, Recorder, and USB Audio Interface does not have video inputs or time code to syncing with cameras, and the included TASCAM's Podcast Editor software also does not support video. To sync the audio from the Mixcast 4 with video, you would either have to import the audio into video editing software, or send audio directly from the Mixcast 4 into your cameras using the Mixcast 4's audio outputs.

    Tascam has really disappointed with the price point of this device! I was expecting it to be cheaper than even the podtrak p8! How will you gain a competitive edge when you already behind the podcast power curve since you are after thr rodecaster or podtrak! Do better Tascam! Really disappointed bc I love the tascam company.
