Speaking of Eyvel, I feel like Finn also would've been a good pick just for surviving all the shit he went through. There's plenty of "loyal retainer" characters in the series, but Finn takes it to a peak. Also Haar, just for being OP & having some of the most awesome battle quotes in the series ("So you're defending the goddess... but will she do the same for you?")

She came at the absolute worst time for her kit. Bad skills but too new to be demoted. I feel like around then was when the 3rd fiddle banner units were at there worst. Remember Fiora? Still waiting for a guard sword demote tho.
Eyvel fucking owns. And that the game took her from us right when we really needed her is just proof of how much Thracia is an asshole game that hates us personally.
Camus/Zeke/Sirius is pretty badass, he fought in in a war, died, got better, impressed Rudolph so much that he immediately became a general and became so trusted that he was ordered by Rudolph to betray him if he met Alm (which he did), after the war, went allll the way back to archanea to save his country of origin, all the while being a strong and loyal knight
He also had to deal with the pain of leaving Nyna behind despite his feelings towards her, even if he had stayed with Nyna he would have grieved for leaving Tatiana behind
Finn is easily the most badass character in fire emblem. What he gives up to save leif and nanna is extremely selfless, and he pretty much fights the threats they face all by himself
Not eating to take care of what would practically be his children? That's badass. They outright mention him starving so that Nanna and Leif are fed. I find Finn to be an extremely heartwarming character, and imo, the best in all of FE.
Elise is clearly a badass. She took a shot from a legendary and broken bow, the Fujin Yumi, and got up like it was nothing. Edit: I know I’m a day late but let’s not forget that Corrin was also shot by this bow and immediately got sent to the spirit realm, making this feel more true. Elise > Corrin
I mean yeah we joke but Elise kind of has the biggest balls out of any of the Fates Royals. She goes with her heart and just runs off to join Corrin in both Revelations and Conquest, and goes against her family in Birthright and sacrifices her own life to try and end the conflict. All this without any combat proficiency, she throws herself into dangerous circumstances without any guarantee of her safety. She may not be a badass in her abilities, but she is a badass in her heart.
Elise was my second favorite noble from fates behind Leo because she may look weak and a damsel-in-distress, but she is one of the most courageous people I have seen in this series. She literally threw herself in front of her brother's sword in hopes that her siblings wouldn't fight anymore. That was honestly one of my favorite moments in the franchise and was one of the driving forces into playing more FE games
Fr. Incredible how when she was added to feh, I thought of her as some other npc side character who adopted a couple kids. This video changed my whole perspective on her and is definitely top 10 close to top 5 fav characters now imo
FE8 Ephraim always felt like a badass to me, in regard to his constant defiance towards the invader, Grado empire, and his absolute confidence in his tactician skills
Also shoutout to Seth. Not just for the OMG HAX memes, but because he's a shining example of what an advisor is supposed to be: loyal, insightful, levelheaded, yet lets their Lord grow and shine. I think only August and FE12 Jeigan are better.
13:34 Actually, Eyvel literally cannot die at all pre chapter 5. She has a hidden skill where if an enemy attacks her and her hp is low enough to get her killed, she’ll dodge the attack.
So happy to see Dedue get some love. I finished my first FE3H playthrough recently (Azure Moon), and I instantly latched on to Dedue as my favorite character. I feel like he's underrated in comparison to the other students, but deep down, we all wish we had someone as stalwart as Dedue by our side.
This just drives home how badly I want thracia and genealogy to get the echoes treatment, I didn’t know the story for characters went this in depth and it’d be so so cool to see that in HD all voice acted and proper

On the subject of Jugdral badasses, there's nobody else like Finn. Before Eyvel, Finn was Leif and Nanna's foster dad and took care of them across the Thracian Penincula in search of a home. Leif notes that Finn literally starved himself in order to feed both Leif and Nanna and ensure they grow up healthy and strong. The sacrifices Finn made in the name of his fallen liege and for his daughter would honestly break a lesser man, but Finn's loyalty and devotion is on another level. Jugdral really did have a cast of amazing parents: Finn, Eyvel, Edain, Oifey and Shannan
@@rockroy259 Yngvi is the localised name for Jungby. Jungby is what Yngvi would basically be spelled in Japanese. Considering that Norse and German are very different languages. Also that Yngvi is the older name for the Norse God Freyr. Fitting considering the many Norse-based names in FE4. Including the Dark Tome Jörmungandr, Gungnir, Edda, and even Jugdral being named after the Yggdrasil Tree of Norse Mythology.
Eyvel is the type of mother i respect a lot and she reminds me of my own mother on how my mother lives so far away from me and yet she still cares about me. this video made me cry so many times, i've never felt so much joy in my intire life, thank you so much.
Let's hear it for my man Donnel. Talk about Zero to Hero. Started as an unproficient, barely combat-ready villager class and eventually transitions into one of the most solid and well-rounded units. Aside from combat effectiveness, Donnel proves himself to be incredibly multi-talented. He's good with raising plants due to his farming background. He's an excellent trapper and even manages to fool Panne's keen senses. He's not well-educated, but learns extremely quickly to the poont that even Miriel was impressed. This is helped by the fact that he actually has a photographic memory and can recite even dense legal text on command as long as he's read it once. He's not magically talented but is smart enough to recognize that even though Tharja's spell components seem similar, that doesn't mean they're evil. And, to top it off, he's kind and hard-working, always offering to lend a hand and supporting his allies. What a badass!
Dieck is pretty badass, being a former gladiator before almost being killed by a lion to save Pent’s son, then going out and making a mercenary group who accompanies Roy and helps defeat Bern
I think Travant is an ultra badass chad, not just through battle prowess, but maintaining a kingdom for 25+ years, raising 2 children as a single father while operating an army that makes the Oakland A's look like the New York Yankees in terms of payroll and revenue. Constantly having the odds against him and solving problems with not just brute force but shrewd moves and cunning on top of his impressive and fear instilling outward image. FE4, FE5 and even the Oosawa manga show how badass the dude is, he constantly gets kicked in the dick at every turn, does he give up? No, he gets right back up and fights like a pitbull until the very end, commanding the respect of everyone around him. That is a level of badass you hardly see in the series or fiction at all.
I haven't readed the manga but yeah, Travant is a peace of shit that I can hate with all of my heart, yet, acept he is fucking badass for the thing he has done.

Dude, Eyvel is the most badass character in all of fire emblem for me. She does have the major holy blood so that's probably the reason why since having it is FE equivalent of having super powers, but I dont care. The girl is such a joy to follow when she is in the focus and the fact that she frightened the hell out of what is basically the main bad guy of Thracia (Veld who?) so early into the game is so cool. Man I wish Thracia would get a remake so that I can hear that scene voice acted.
I really love Eyvel’s badassery in thracia, FEH did her dirty. But on that note, i also really love how Nephenee and Brom grew into their badassery from being untrained farmers.
Feh does so many characters dirty. It's really disheartening seeing people here go "wow they're now my favorite character!" to the lesser known games. It shows people will like the characters, but feh doesn't give them a chance. Despite that, there's still the people who groan about the lesser known games getting banners.
Yeah Bromains & Neph are lowkey really good characters in FE as they balance being heroes and humble villagers at the same time, other villager characters end up being ironically amazing, still cracking farming jokes as they annihilate everything meanwhile Brom & Neph go from simple farmers rescued by Ike to being very formidable yet not famous and overly flashy heroes. You can tell they’re renowned in their village and highly respected by Elincia but that’s where it ends for them.
I'd say it even out by giving some spotlight to characters that otherwise would be long forgotten, most notably the guy that think Magic is the Best Stat.
Dude, I JUST recently finished seeing Thracia and I *totally* agree. Eyvel is the most badass character. And just to think before the (already) coolest-person Eyvel, was friggin Pirate Bridget. I was teary when everybody gathered to thank her, because she deserved it. You did justice today my friend, great work!
Three houses has a bunch. Dedue singlehandedly storming enbarr nearly avenging his lord, Dimitri being known as the tempest king to his enemies because of the windstorm his attacks stir up, Edelgard reshaping the world with her own hands and holding to her ideals regardless of personal loss. I love that game.
Dedue is one of my favourite characters in FE3H. I loved him from the beginning and he is one of my tankiest units. Before watching this I never really called him a badass but now I will. I'm new to the FE games, I've only played 3 houses and heroes, so the other characters you referenced went a little over my head, but I look forward to playing other FE games! Very good video though!
Minerva IS badass, she survived being tortured and she has enought good stats to one-shot every living thing(even dragons/maneketes) in the map and is one of the few units that don't need to be fully-prepared that can give Camus a fair fight. I love her so much.
Honestly? I'd say Palla, for similar-ish reasons to those you listed for Eyvel. Even after her crush on Abel went unrequited and he ended up marrying Est, Palla never showed even an iota of bitterness and continued to be Est's caring older sister while also continuing to serve as a dedicated (and oh so very capable) knight of Macedon.
Finally! A Geas was mentioned in relation to Lewyn and Brigid! Edit: Also, Geas is pronounced "Gesh". Speaking as if you're Sean Connery saying the word "Guess". Although I guess more people would recall the name if they pronounce it as "Ge-as" instead due to the anime "Code Geass".
I am beyond happy that Eyvel was focused on in this video. In my eyes she is beyond the most badass of all of the FE characters and she deserves so much respect. I wish Tharacia was officially translated so that others in the fandom could learn about her.

Honestly Finn is my fav character period and I consider him a huge bad ass. To see his lord, his land fall and care for leif and Nanna for sooo long and sacrificing so much. Parenthood is no joke and to have it trusted upon to you in such trying times and still manage to get as far as he did is nothing short of bad ass
Also Finn kills everything with his Brave Lance and is really hard to kill himself. Why did Thracia give him sword proficiency he can only train while unmounted. Why, Thracia? Just let me use a goddamn Master Lance indoors without having to train those assholes Xavier and Dalsin, PLEASE.

Eyvel is such an interesting character with a heroic spirit and noble character even though I'm sure she would rather live in peace if fighting wasn't neccicary. Need a Geneology remake so bad.
My biggest pet peeve in every single piece of fiction is this dumbass notion that kindness and compassion means a character is weak. I hate it so god damn much it's unreal So I really appreciate how you highlighted and praised Dedue and Eyvel for their kindness as well as everything else.
also, characters written to be strong either having no flaws or meaningless flaws. that does not make them strong. that makes them boring and unrelatable. in my opinion, strength is defined by circumventing or overcoming flaws, not lacking them. while i know little about eyvel, in terms of dedue, he is loyal to a fault. he treats himself as an extension of dimitri, and he makes sure others know it. in routes where dimitri dies and he lives, he makes dimitris goal his own (killing edelgard), and should he survive the battle, he is left with no purpose in life though to be honest, writing a character with the intention of being a strong character is a pitfall in itself. i write characters myself, and "strong" is never on my checklist of character traits. writers should just write the character the way they envisioned, then let the audience decide for themselves whether the character is strong or not
The most badass in AM Dimitri is that he reached out his shand to Edelgard, ready to forgive her, but instead takes a strike of a dagger he gave Edel in their childhood

his entire kingdom got wiped out in the blink of an eye, his main goal is to revive it, and in his endings he succeeds. he got cheated out of good characterization by being corrinsexual. if they gave him the same support pool as other characters and gave him a child unit of his own, imagine how much more popular he would be
Eyvel may be badass, but Finn is way more levels ahead of Eyvel's badassery. Man raised two childs by himself, taugh them how to fight and he was one of the best Knights and units in FE5.

You should keep going with this series! Your outlook on badassery is totally different from what I consider! I usually just think of someone like Shamir or Navarre, you know someone who kicks ass and looks cool while doing it. This is a whole new perspective and I’d love to hear more characters that are like this! These kinds of characters have the best potential to be mainstays on my final teams, this kind of character study and or development is always an A+ in my book!
Girl bad @ss list. Fates Charlotte as she is extremely powerful and the first female fighter as well even with her cute act she can end many people with ana axe. That's amazing. Reines is cool but she doesn't do much as a veteran. Awakening Cherche is pretty cool as like Fredrick she keeps things going with virion as the coward he is and can smile even as she brings down the axe which makes her scary as she is elegant. Echoes not really any but mithrad is pretty cool as a warrior women and Claire could be better if she wasn't dumb going with gray the creep. Lucina leading the charge for many and changing fate is something big even though she is still a little girl inside and has dry humor. Her arc is still pretty cool. Guess Lyn would be a major girl in eliwoods game leading a group herself or Cecilia as the veteran in Roy's game. But gotta say anna is always the most best girl in a lot of stuff as she is always around and in many roles
I do like Charlotte, because I have a soft spot for characters who are all 'that's great, when we gettin paid' and unlike similar characters like Volke and Farina she doesn't actually take anything from my funds.
@@maltheopia Charlotte also does give money back to her family as well as feels bad when fox boy uses his own fur to pay her back and overall I can feel she is a good person and even when Elise came out to recruit her she didn't attack her. Plus on skill alone she was a royal guard but only went to border because she was acting weak. That's why I like her with Xander as the money she thinks more of her family and siegbert is so funny when she makes him break a twig and go into battle yelling. Same as anna. Anna loves money but Anna is a good person keeping prices low but still a good business women. Awakening and fates Anna are some of my favorite girls and family is funny. The norh Girls are also strong inside. Elise may be young but she has a big heart trying to save her family while camila rather not fight Corrin even when you have to as well as love through the wife wars where all the children and mothers die aside the 4 norh siblings and Elise was thier light so camilia wanted to be the Protecting loving role they never had. Same as why she didn't spoil leo as he was actually grown up and didn't need her to do so. Hinoka and sakura are meh compared. Would add tharja if we go by connections as she can find robin anywhere he goes aside the musical game and codename steam where both were seperated.
finn fire emblem is probably the biggest badass in the franchise, no joke. the poor dude fights through three wars spanning over 20 years, endures countless trauma, and becoming so emotionally numb that he forgets how to cry until meeting altena again. check out "leonsters fall" on serenes forest, its canonical extra writing of the days right before leonster officially falls, and mostly focuses on finn himself. Given the amount of contribution he's given to the progression of FE4/5, his recognition is quite disproportional than what he deserves serenesforest net/general/designers-notes/thracia-776/lensters-fall/ (url broken up to avoid spam detection)
Karel also deserves a mention. He started out as a pretty typical edgy Swordmaster, but ended up actually mellowing out while also (unwillingly) becoming a legend across Elibe. Even though he almost gave up on fighting, he is convinced by his niece/brother-in-law to stop the coming apocalypse while also mentoring others whenever he gets the chance to. And even though he considers himself rusty, his growths are literally the best in the entire series. Even though he joins at level 19, in the one level up he gets, he's guaranteed to gain AT LEAST 1 point in every stat. Most Myrmidons/Swordmasters in the series can be considered "badass" on the surface level, but Karel goes above and beyond that.
Damn Mycen isnt on the list, maybe he'll be on thd next one 😔 Ive never played any of ths Jugdral games and I have Eyvel in Feh so hearing her story actually scares me and makes me so ready for a remaster for those games!

I used deduce once I in dimitris playthrough and haven’t done him since but I gotta say I love the strong ass bond him dimitri share. So dang heartwarming. Eyvel, while I never played that game, seems so caring and motherly. The bond between her children is so unbreakable. I freaking tearing up over here. I hope I can get Eyvel in heroes and maybe play the game she is in. Her and Mareeta are some of the coolest looking characters ive seen. What game was Eyvel in exactly? Was it genealogy? I forget.
Genealogy as Brigid and Thracia as Eyvel. Just be warned that she probably gets the least amount of playtime out of any unit in both games since she’s so badass even IS had to cut down her usability.
Eyvel & Mareeta are in Thracia, which is a interquel of Genealogy (takes place during it). Fun game, IMO, but there's a LOT of beginners traps in it, so a guide might help. And yeah, Eyvel's a badass.
You literally cannot lose the first parts of FE5 so long as you have her and Leaf. Granted, you'll be in a real fix when she leaves you, but she gives you plenty of time to fart around and learn the ropes -- right before Thracia remembers that it hates everything pure and good about the world and takes her away from you when you most need her.
While Eyvel is very badass, there is dark side to her that will happen if the player fails to rescue her from her entombed fate. If Eyvel dies while still being a stone statue, she is ressurected as the Deadlord Draco, wielding the bow and arrow that her past self once wielded, her true weapon type; not the sword she was using when she was still alive. Therefore, Brigid had returned to her true self in the worst possible way, a shell of her former self and as a weapon to slaughter the people she helped raise as her amnesiac self, willing to butcher even Mareeta, the girl she saved years ago.
Sacred Stones has an excess of badass daddy characters, so it's understandable why he'd get lost in the shuffle: Seth, Cormag, Garcia, him, Moulder, Gerik, Dozla, Vanessa...
I really appreciate you going out of your way to define the subjective terms before ranking and discussing characters afterwards. You yourself are pretty badass, you know? Keep it up.
My favorite FE badass is Lukas. Anyone who has played Echoes and the DLC for it knows exactly why. I like Deen, Forsyth, Kamui, and Python more, but they arent really as much of badasses as he is.
I haven’t played Thracia yet, but honestly, the Eyvel section, coupled with the forging bonds of Thracia Characters that made it into FEH really hyped me up for an FE5 remake in the hopefully near future
FE7 Wallace was a serious badass for me despite the fact he's just an okay unit most of the time. He's a badass not just because he's a strong fighter, but he's also a truly compassionate man who isn't just some brute who's all brawn First: Hausen sent this guy to stop Madelyn and Hassar from eloping. He heard them out and let them go out of respect when he saw how much they truly loved each other despite knowing he'd get punished. Then consider his reputation years later when Lyn comes around: He was called out of retirement by the Lundgren to face off Lyn's group...alone. At this point in the story, Lyn's group has been wiping the floor with bandits, the Black Fang, and Caelin troops loyal to Lundgren. Lundgren is well aware of how serious of a threat Lyn's group is And he called in Wallace convinced that he could take out Lyn's group by himself. That should tell you something about his reputation for fighting. Fast forward a bit: This guy single-handedly wiped out all of the Taliver bandits who slaughtered Lyn's tribe all because he was loyal to Lyn and wanted her to not be consumed by her vendetta. Furthermore, when he shows back up in the middle of a foggy battlefield, he basically yells "COME AT ME BRO" to all the Black Fang in the area and then joins the heroes again upon learning they need some help This guy is a badass who is both ridiculously strong (story-wise at least) and a compassionate man and I feel that he's pretty underrated because he's ultimately a worse unit than Oswin and many prefer to pick up Geitz over him
The Eyvel section is the best thing I've watched all year. Eyvel is one of my top three favorite Fire Emblem characters so any content for her makes me happy but this was especially wonderful! It's also great to see people in the comments saying this made them like Eyvel after not knowing anything about her before watching this. She's the best mom and a complete badass, thank you for doing her justice with this!
I hate how Dedue deals or rather doesn’t deal with the prejudice he faces. Overrated character who made himself subservient to someone who doesn’t deserve it.
As much as I love bassilio since he believed in chrom. Walhart is more amazing than him. Not only did he take over the country. His armies wiped out chroms one as well as beat bassilio as west and east Khan together. Even grima was afraid of him as he could pose a threat as walhart believed in humans surpassing even the gods. Also his special class. ITS SO COOL. other would say Hector this man can keep going and never stop even in his older years it took a lot to finnaly end his life. Echoes Camus. This man was able to survive a death blow and go to the next continent and then come back to save Naya while turning his back on his new country because of it. Man is mvp Fates both ryouma and Xander fit that role. Letting Corrin either win or die themselves as they couldn't bring themselves to do it and Xander hurt more as Elise just died and without that resolve Corrin would be able to beat garrin. Stat wise the kids of awakening especially Morgan would be the most powerful unit ever if we count that.
the more i hear about Holy war and Thracia, the more i desperately want the next fire emblem game to be a remake of those games so that I can play them
100% agree, if you do another one the only character that comes to mind is Greil, the man who just to protect his kids destroys his sword arm so that a professional assassin can deal with him so he doesn't hurt Ike and Mist if things go wrong.

I love him in FE12. He was one of the few characters who made Kris tolerable.
To be honest, Jagen can be dangerous in FEH; heard a few stories about one stopping some players cold.

Camus/Zeke/Sirius is pretty badass, he fought in in a war, died, got better, impressed Rudolph so much that he immediately became a general and became so trusted that he was ordered by Rudolph to betray him if he met Alm (which he did), after the war, went allll the way back to archanea to save his country of origin, all the while being a strong and loyal knight
Also, he is the measuring stick of Archanea powerscaling lol.
He's the only Camus archetype who lives. Can't beat that record.
He also had to deal with the pain of leaving Nyna behind despite his feelings towards her, even if he had stayed with Nyna he would have grieved for leaving Tatiana behind

Finn is easily the most badass character in fire emblem. What he gives up to save leif and nanna is extremely selfless, and he pretty much fights the threats they face all by himself

Not eating to take care of what would practically be his children? That's badass. They outright mention him starving so that Nanna and Leif are fed. I find Finn to be an extremely heartwarming character, and imo, the best in all of FE.

Elise is clearly a badass. She took a shot from a legendary and broken bow, the Fujin Yumi, and got up like it was nothing.
Edit: I know I’m a day late but let’s not forget that Corrin was also shot by this bow and immediately got sent to the spirit realm, making this feel more true.

I mean yeah we joke but Elise kind of has the biggest balls out of any of the Fates Royals.
She goes with her heart and just runs off to join Corrin in both Revelations and Conquest, and goes against her family in Birthright and sacrifices her own life to try and end the conflict. All this without any combat proficiency, she throws herself into dangerous circumstances without any guarantee of her safety. She may not be a badass in her abilities, but she is a badass in her heart.

Elise was my second favorite noble from fates behind Leo because she may look weak and a damsel-in-distress, but she is one of the most courageous people I have seen in this series. She literally threw herself in front of her brother's sword in hopes that her siblings wouldn't fight anymore. That was honestly one of my favorite moments in the franchise and was one of the driving forces into playing more FE games

Fr. Incredible how when she was added to feh, I thought of her as some other npc side character who adopted a couple kids. This video changed my whole perspective on her and is definitely top 10 close to top 5 fav characters now imo

So happy to see Dedue get some love. I finished my first FE3H playthrough recently (Azure Moon), and I instantly latched on to Dedue as my favorite character. I feel like he's underrated in comparison to the other students, but deep down, we all wish we had someone as stalwart as Dedue by our side.
This just drives home how badly I want thracia and genealogy to get the echoes treatment, I didn’t know the story for characters went this in depth and it’d be so so cool to see that in HD all voice acted and proper

On the subject of Jugdral badasses, there's nobody else like Finn. Before Eyvel, Finn was Leif and Nanna's foster dad and took care of them across the Thracian Penincula in search of a home. Leif notes that Finn literally starved himself in order to feed both Leif and Nanna and ensure they grow up healthy and strong. The sacrifices Finn made in the name of his fallen liege and for his daughter would honestly break a lesser man, but Finn's loyalty and devotion is on another level. Jugdral really did have a cast of amazing parents: Finn, Eyvel, Edain, Oifey and Shannan

Let's hear it for my man Donnel. Talk about Zero to Hero. Started as an unproficient, barely combat-ready villager class and eventually transitions into one of the most solid and well-rounded units. Aside from combat effectiveness, Donnel proves himself to be incredibly multi-talented. He's good with raising plants due to his farming background. He's an excellent trapper and even manages to fool Panne's keen senses. He's not well-educated, but learns extremely quickly to the poont that even Miriel was impressed. This is helped by the fact that he actually has a photographic memory and can recite even dense legal text on command as long as he's read it once. He's not magically talented but is smart enough to recognize that even though Tharja's spell components seem similar, that doesn't mean they're evil. And, to top it off, he's kind and hard-working, always offering to lend a hand and supporting his allies. What a badass!
Dieck is pretty badass, being a former gladiator before almost being killed by a lion to save Pent’s son, then going out and making a mercenary group who accompanies Roy and helps defeat Bern

I think Travant is an ultra badass chad, not just through battle prowess, but maintaining a kingdom for 25+ years, raising 2 children as a single father while operating an army that makes the Oakland A's look like the New York Yankees in terms of payroll and revenue. Constantly having the odds against him and solving problems with not just brute force but shrewd moves and cunning on top of his impressive and fear instilling outward image. FE4, FE5 and even the Oosawa manga show how badass the dude is, he constantly gets kicked in the dick at every turn, does he give up? No, he gets right back up and fights like a pitbull until the very end, commanding the respect of everyone around him.
That is a level of badass you hardly see in the series or fiction at all.

Dude, Eyvel is the most badass character in all of fire emblem for me. She does have the major holy blood so that's probably the reason why since having it is FE equivalent of having super powers, but I dont care. The girl is such a joy to follow when she is in the focus and the fact that she frightened the hell out of what is basically the main bad guy of Thracia (Veld who?) so early into the game is so cool. Man I wish Thracia would get a remake so that I can hear that scene voice acted.

I really love Eyvel’s badassery in thracia, FEH did her dirty. But on that note, i also really love how Nephenee and Brom grew into their badassery from being untrained farmers.
Feh does so many characters dirty. It's really disheartening seeing people here go "wow they're now my favorite character!" to the lesser known games. It shows people will like the characters, but feh doesn't give them a chance. Despite that, there's still the people who groan about the lesser known games getting banners.
Yeah Bromains & Neph are lowkey really good characters in FE as they balance being heroes and humble villagers at the same time, other villager characters end up being ironically amazing, still cracking farming jokes as they annihilate everything meanwhile Brom & Neph go from simple farmers rescued by Ike to being very formidable yet not famous and overly flashy heroes. You can tell they’re renowned in their village and highly respected by Elincia but that’s where it ends for them.
I spent the entirety of orb stash trying to get Eyvel. I got 1 copy of her and 5 Mareetas.....

Three houses has a bunch. Dedue singlehandedly storming enbarr nearly avenging his lord, Dimitri being known as the tempest king to his enemies because of the windstorm his attacks stir up, Edelgard reshaping the world with her own hands and holding to her ideals regardless of personal loss. I love that game.
Dedue is one of my favourite characters in FE3H. I loved him from the beginning and he is one of my tankiest units. Before watching this I never really called him a badass but now I will. I'm new to the FE games, I've only played 3 houses and heroes, so the other characters you referenced went a little over my head, but I look forward to playing other FE games! Very good video though!
Finn from FE 4 is also a badass and is also the greatest retainer in all of Fire Emblem.

Honestly Finn is my fav character period and I consider him a huge bad ass. To see his lord, his land fall and care for leif and Nanna for sooo long and sacrificing so much. Parenthood is no joke and to have it trusted upon to you in such trying times and still manage to get as far as he did is nothing short of bad ass

My biggest pet peeve in every single piece of fiction is this dumbass notion that kindness and compassion means a character is weak. I hate it so god damn much it's unreal

also, characters written to be strong either having no flaws or meaningless flaws. that does not make them strong. that makes them boring and unrelatable. in my opinion, strength is defined by circumventing or overcoming flaws, not lacking them. while i know little about eyvel, in terms of dedue, he is loyal to a fault. he treats himself as an extension of dimitri, and he makes sure others know it. in routes where dimitri dies and he lives, he makes dimitris goal his own (killing edelgard), and should he survive the battle, he is left with no purpose in life
though to be honest, writing a character with the intention of being a strong character is a pitfall in itself. i write characters myself, and "strong" is never on my checklist of character traits. writers should just write the character the way they envisioned, then let the audience decide for themselves whether the character is strong or not

his entire kingdom got wiped out in the blink of an eye, his main goal is to revive it, and in his endings he succeeds. he got cheated out of good characterization by being corrinsexual. if they gave him the same support pool as other characters and gave him a child unit of his own, imagine how much more popular he would be
Eyvel may be badass, but Finn is way more levels ahead of Eyvel's badassery. Man raised two childs by himself, taugh them how to fight and he was one of the best Knights and units in FE5.

You should keep going with this series! Your outlook on badassery is totally different from what I consider! I usually just think of someone like Shamir or Navarre, you know someone who kicks ass and looks cool while doing it. This is a whole new perspective and I’d love to hear more characters that are like this! These kinds of characters have the best potential to be mainstays on my final teams, this kind of character study and or development is always an A+ in my book!

Fates Charlotte as she is extremely powerful and the first female fighter as well even with her cute act she can end many people with ana axe. That's amazing. Reines is cool but she doesn't do much as a veteran.
Awakening Cherche is pretty cool as like Fredrick she keeps things going with virion as the coward he is and can smile even as she brings down the axe which makes her scary as she is elegant.
Echoes not really any but mithrad is pretty cool as a warrior women and Claire could be better if she wasn't dumb going with gray the creep.
Lucina leading the charge for many and changing fate is something big even though she is still a little girl inside and has dry humor. Her arc is still pretty cool.
Guess Lyn would be a major girl in eliwoods game leading a group herself or Cecilia as the veteran in Roy's game.
But gotta say anna is always the most best girl in a lot of stuff as she is always around and in many roles
I do like Charlotte, because I have a soft spot for characters who are all 'that's great, when we gettin paid' and unlike similar characters like Volke and Farina she doesn't actually take anything from my funds.
@@maltheopia Charlotte also does give money back to her family as well as feels bad when fox boy uses his own fur to pay her back and overall I can feel she is a good person and even when Elise came out to recruit her she didn't attack her. Plus on skill alone she was a royal guard but only went to border because she was acting weak. That's why I like her with Xander as the money she thinks more of her family and siegbert is so funny when she makes him break a twig and go into battle yelling.
Same as anna. Anna loves money but Anna is a good person keeping prices low but still a good business women. Awakening and fates Anna are some of my favorite girls and family is funny.
The norh Girls are also strong inside. Elise may be young but she has a big heart trying to save her family while camila rather not fight Corrin even when you have to as well as love through the wife wars where all the children and mothers die aside the 4 norh siblings and Elise was thier light so camilia wanted to be the Protecting loving role they never had. Same as why she didn't spoil leo as he was actually grown up and didn't need her to do so. Hinoka and sakura are meh compared.
Would add tharja if we go by connections as she can find robin anywhere he goes aside the musical game and codename steam where both were seperated.
finn fire emblem is probably the biggest badass in the franchise, no joke. the poor dude fights through three wars spanning over 20 years, endures countless trauma, and becoming so emotionally numb that he forgets how to cry until meeting altena again. check out "leonsters fall" on serenes forest, its canonical extra writing of the days right before leonster officially falls, and mostly focuses on finn himself. Given the amount of contribution he's given to the progression of FE4/5, his recognition is quite disproportional than what he deserves

Karel also deserves a mention. He started out as a pretty typical edgy Swordmaster, but ended up actually mellowing out while also (unwillingly) becoming a legend across Elibe. Even though he almost gave up on fighting, he is convinced by his niece/brother-in-law to stop the coming apocalypse while also mentoring others whenever he gets the chance to. And even though he considers himself rusty, his growths are literally the best in the entire series. Even though he joins at level 19, in the one level up he gets, he's guaranteed to gain AT LEAST 1 point in every stat.
Most Myrmidons/Swordmasters in the series can be considered "badass" on the surface level, but Karel goes above and beyond that.

I used deduce once I in dimitris playthrough and haven’t done him since but I gotta say I love the strong ass bond him dimitri share. So dang heartwarming.
Eyvel, while I never played that game, seems so caring and motherly. The bond between her children is so unbreakable. I freaking tearing up over here. I hope I can get Eyvel in heroes and maybe play the game she is in. Her and Mareeta are some of the coolest looking characters ive seen. What game was Eyvel in exactly? Was it genealogy? I forget.
Genealogy as Brigid and Thracia as Eyvel. Just be warned that she probably gets the least amount of playtime out of any unit in both games since she’s so badass even IS had to cut down her usability.
Eyvel & Mareeta are in Thracia, which is a interquel of Genealogy (takes place during it). Fun game, IMO, but there's a LOT of beginners traps in it, so a guide might help. And yeah, Eyvel's a badass.
You literally cannot lose the first parts of FE5 so long as you have her and Leaf. Granted, you'll be in a real fix when she leaves you, but she gives you plenty of time to fart around and learn the ropes -- right before Thracia remembers that it hates everything pure and good about the world and takes her away from you when you most need her.

While Eyvel is very badass, there is dark side to her that will happen if the player fails to rescue her from her entombed fate. If Eyvel dies while still being a stone statue, she is ressurected as the Deadlord Draco, wielding the bow and arrow that her past self once wielded, her true weapon type; not the sword she was using when she was still alive. Therefore, Brigid had returned to her true self in the worst possible way, a shell of her former self and as a weapon to slaughter the people she helped raise as her amnesiac self, willing to butcher even Mareeta, the girl she saved years ago.

My favorite FE badass is Lukas. Anyone who has played Echoes and the DLC for it knows exactly why. I like Deen, Forsyth, Kamui, and Python more, but they arent really as much of badasses as he is.

I haven’t played Thracia yet, but honestly, the Eyvel section, coupled with the forging bonds of Thracia Characters that made it into FEH really hyped me up for an FE5 remake in the hopefully near future
FE7 Wallace was a serious badass for me despite the fact he's just an okay unit most of the time. He's a badass not just because he's a strong fighter, but he's also a truly compassionate man who isn't just some brute who's all brawn
First: Hausen sent this guy to stop Madelyn and Hassar from eloping. He heard them out and let them go out of respect when he saw how much they truly loved each other despite knowing he'd get punished.
Then consider his reputation years later when Lyn comes around: He was called out of retirement by the Lundgren to face off Lyn's group...alone. At this point in the story, Lyn's group has been wiping the floor with bandits, the Black Fang, and Caelin troops loyal to Lundgren. Lundgren is well aware of how serious of a threat Lyn's group is
And he called in Wallace convinced that he could take out Lyn's group by himself. That should tell you something about his reputation for fighting.
Fast forward a bit: This guy single-handedly wiped out all of the Taliver bandits who slaughtered Lyn's tribe all because he was loyal to Lyn and wanted her to not be consumed by her vendetta.
Furthermore, when he shows back up in the middle of a foggy battlefield, he basically yells "COME AT ME BRO" to all the Black Fang in the area and then joins the heroes again upon learning they need some help
This guy is a badass who is both ridiculously strong (story-wise at least) and a compassionate man and I feel that he's pretty underrated because he's ultimately a worse unit than Oswin and many prefer to pick up Geitz over him
Saizo, Hana, Xander, Ryoma, Cheche, Frederick, Camus, Saber, Mathilda, etc. The list of bad asses go on Sir Ghast. So many to choose from. 😃
The Eyvel section is the best thing I've watched all year.
Eyvel is one of my top three favorite Fire Emblem characters so any content for her makes me happy but this was especially wonderful! It's also great to see people in the comments saying this made them like Eyvel after not knowing anything about her before watching this. She's the best mom and a complete badass, thank you for doing her justice with this!

I hate how Dedue deals or rather doesn’t deal with the prejudice he faces. Overrated character who made himself subservient to someone who doesn’t deserve it.
Dimitri might be just, but that doesn't make him the right person to become a white saviour, heck he even hates being treated as some saviour.

Walhart is more amazing than him. Not only did he take over the country. His armies wiped out chroms one as well as beat bassilio as west and east Khan together. Even grima was afraid of him as he could pose a threat as walhart believed in humans surpassing even the gods. Also his special class. ITS SO COOL.
other would say Hector this man can keep going and never stop even in his older years it took a lot to finnaly end his life.
Echoes Camus. This man was able to survive a death blow and go to the next continent and then come back to save Naya while turning his back on his new country because of it. Man is mvp
Fates both ryouma and Xander fit that role. Letting Corrin either win or die themselves as they couldn't bring themselves to do it and Xander hurt more as Elise just died and without that resolve Corrin would be able to beat garrin.
Stat wise the kids of awakening especially Morgan would be the most powerful unit ever if we count that.
the more i hear about Holy war and Thracia, the more i desperately want the next fire emblem game to be a remake of those games so that I can play them

100% agree, if you do another one the only character that comes to mind is Greil, the man who just to protect his kids destroys his sword arm so that a professional assassin can deal with him so he doesn't hurt Ike and Mist if things go wrong.
