I just took My Lectric XPeak Step Over to the bike shop because I burned through my brake pads in 738 miles (I had to drive home with one brake working). It needs it's bolts checked and the headlight and tail lights went out at about 50 miles for an unknown reason. I love this thing! The bike trails by where I live are so much more extensive than I ever realized. My bike stays in my living room so I can't bring myself to drive it on the dirt....Plus my Autism and OCD likes to keep things very clean. It feels like I'm riding a remote control car. I've lost 23 pounds in that 738 miles and I feel great. I have a size 9 and a half foot and I have to be very careful because my feet hit the front wheel when I'm peddling and turning at the same time so that is something to be very very careful with on this model. Also don't lean to hard into turns or the pedals can strike the ground and that can be dangerous. I only got the death wobble once and I was going in a straight line so always hold on with 2 hands. That makes it hard for signaling my turns and I really wish it had a working brake light for when I'm in traffic. I heard the prototype models had a working brake light but it didn't make it into production. I call my bike, "The Toaster" because I put a bike bell on it that....dings like a toaster. :) Oh and some tools were required for assembly even though the box says otherwise. With that being said they did include the little L wrench things in the extra parts bag, which I did not know until I paid someone to put it together. I pointed it out to them on the phone and they didn't mention to me that they were buried in there. I have ADHD too so I didn't notice. I also didn't have a torque wrench to check the back bolts for the tire so I had someone else do it. There also is not enough clearance to have the lock on and the water bottle so I had to just pick the water bottle. I have become very attached to this bike though regardless of some little flaws in design that they will hopefully fix in future models. In 2 weeks when I get my bike back I'll be ready to do it again! :)
Really good review. Thanks for pointing out the well thought out points that Lectric did in their design of this bike. Yeah, I am impressed as well. I am pretty sure I will be springing for the step thru version of this bike. I never realized that the quick release pedals would discourage someone from stealing your bike if you had the pedals off the bike. Great idea! Good Job Lectric, Good job Vegas Dtech.
So. A little late for me. I already got mine. Love It!! The wife hopped on once and replaced her older ebike right away with the step through version. I have experienced the pedal issue on sharp, low speed turns. I reposition my foot and keep riding. Using the assist feature only for inclines I also shift thru 3rd 4th and 5th to maintain similar pedaling.
I dont usually leave comments. But thank you for this very detailed review. This solidified my decision of buying this bike. Gonna order this today. Thank you! I also live in Vegas btw. :)
I’m considering the Lectric One mostly because I’ll be going to the gym frequently 11 miles one way. That’s 22 miles in one day. And I’ll also be going to the beach which is 45 miles one way. I live in the highest elevation in my semi-rural city and I already used both my gravel bike and titanium cyclocross to go to the gym. It’s just too exhausting using a non-electric bike after using the gym. But I like this bike too. I need to make a decision soon.
Put an extension on the headlight mounting. Perhaps that will make the cables less intrusive. Thanks for the review. I have this model being shipped to me next week.
Step through and step over 🤔 use to define the difference between a girl's and boys' bike. My first real bicycle was a Yamaha that actually had shocks. That's a very nice bike. I really like the easily removable wheel and tires with HD tires. Thanks for the review. Hope you have a fabulous weekend 🤞
How did you like riding a 26" bike compared to a 20"?I have only ridden 20" bikes. Is it nimble or does it feel heavy and clumsy?Thank you for the good review,I have been watching you for quite a while. Keep up the good work.
Good video. Thanks. As for the issue of the foot hitting the front tire. Your foot on the pedal should have the ball of your foot over the center spindle of the pedal. If your are riding your bike properly, there is no way your foot should ever touch the front tire, even with the fender on it. I also agree that you absolutely should always wear a helmet. Trust me.
You are very brave to admit that. Am trying to figure out the benefits of putting ma slime in ma tire. One thing I do notice, Ys have to remove da valve. Edit, sure is backward.. been at it every evening after dark and it's going everywhere but into the tire. I need a rest. Ma girlfriend got the screams and left in a hurry Got the cops to me. Am being done for cruelty to ebikes. Cop said he would let me go when the girlfriend cleared off and maybe try it himself. Edit,, The cop took out his slime bottle and tried to stick it arrggghhh.
Xlnt review but... HELMET Joey ! HELMET!!! my partner Esther is an RN nurse, she's 49 and I'm 55, and we don't want you to risk potentially getting seriously hurt in what would otherwise be a minor mishap should you have a good helmet on. I rode motorcycles on/off since the early 1980's including a Turbo 750 Kawasaki and big Husqvarna dirt bikes. Also started riding mountain bikes back in 1985. So.... even if I'm just tooling around the neighborhood at 10mph, EVERY TIME --I wear my helmet 😉 We love ya Joey! --and Maria too! 😊Always good to find your new videos. We've been subscribed since the very beginning of your water/drought coverage.
Agreed. 10 years competition riding, a combat medic and a rad tech in trauma surgery. You may as well get hit in the head with a sledgehammer if you don't have a helmet on at that speed. A busted wrist isn't so big, I've had seven of them lol but that's life changing/ending brain damage without a helmet. If you ding your helmet, a lot of places will xray it for integrity for free btw, I did those all the time for people.
I don't like the company restricting the power like this bike has. Sure set from the factory like that to be "legal" but give the owners the way to totally unlock the bike.
Yes if your tall you need to put spacers on the handlebar stem. A $20 fix. There is enough extra wiring to adjust the handlebars up and out in front. There is a guy on u tube who made that adjustment.
lectric still old junk never updated the hub to a 1000 watt never updated the battery still and 48 volt where other bikes are 52 60 and 72 volt it makes a big difference
TERRIFIC review. wish it came with a 3"(?) more road-worthy & less-knobby tire. Roads are smooth & safe in SW FL, USA :-) grassed over smooth shellrock unpaved roads at worst (cool!). Can one exchange wheel & tires like that??
I watch you for the water report and what there doing at lake mead not some e bike I know they pay you to do those e bikes I’m not interested in them or I would have subscribed to that type of Chanel so I’m going to unsubscribe you sorry

I've come to really like my velowave. I heard some bad things like most but the area I live in. It works really good, got good mileage to.
Love my XPEAK I did put handle bar risers on it. Brings your bars up.

Yep, that wobble could be the slime concentrated in one spot sitting for a long time in the warehouse.
I had the death wobble in my new
xpeak at slow speeds!scary!Almost sent rhe bike back to
Lectrik!Slime does not belong in tires!

Excellent review!!!

I have a 3.0 and a xpeak, both step through. The 26 inch flies, much better ride quality, also very different handling than the 3.0.

Ive hear that removing the rear rack helps eliminate the wobble. I emailed lectric about this and they recomend NOT using a rear rack on this model.
It comes with the rear rack,it's the front rack that they dont want
I'd like to see an E-scooter that have a seat and saddle bags built in.
As an ex-bicycle rider and being older that fast rotation of your legs when pedaling fast seems more dangerous than using just the power of the bike.
Put a full bottle of Slime in each tire. Six years of desert riding never had a flat.

i would like to see you do a gold panning or gold sluicing video where you look for pay dirt with a metal detector before doing the gold processing.
That is a nice e-bike. Great price on it also.

Ball park pricing..why not? Great review but base retail????
1399. It's on their website
Nice Ride Brother.. Thanks for the review.. Peace
So why make a step through if it’s gonna wobble wobble I hate and I would send it back to the factory
I don't like the company restricting the power like this bike has. Sure set from the factory like that to be "legal" but give the owners the way to totally unlock the bike.
The company can’t. But it’s out there.

Brother, you wanna get that Death Wabble? Try riding it with no hands Next time. at 15 and above. That's when the Party starts.😉
That's a wheel skewer..
I used to watch you back when you were doing meteldetector vids. Hope you go back to them. Not into water level and electric bikes
Nobody that's 6'5' is. Going to ride that bike. Handlebars are way too low. Ecell five stars is set up for a tall guy.
