glad you are finally showing Big Boss assembling he deserves a lot of credit and we rarely see him work cause assembly and disassembly is also an art form.
I have purchased many of your items from the shop and I agree with the speedy shipping and quality products Alex. Thanks a bunch for all your hard work and patience to teach. You and Big Boss are gems!
Does Big Boss ever lose any screws to the 9th Dimension, or after reassembly have spare screw left over? His counter I can see is very organised, it's amazing how he remembers the order in which components go in, and which screw goes where... You have an amazing team/family Alex. Thank you for sharing your repair knowledge and Big Boss's skills.
@NorthridgeFix I was expecting the customer to say, "I'll just pay for a no fix". Lol nope not happening. Great Video Alex as always. Thanks for the response.
Thats my switch, so to start off i wasnt trying to fool anyone on the description. i did my best to explain what was wrong from what i knew. i dont have all his fancy tools to diagnose all that other stuff, thats why i sent it to him. i bought that switch brand new on launch day so its a couple years old. its not custom or a special addition or anything fancy. but has all my info and saved data on it. only thing was the original plastics where allready breaking apart so i ordered a new shell and atempted to change it my self. bent the connector pins and thought that was all since it was working fine before i took it apart other then the shell falling apart. i did take it to a local repair shop and dont know if they caused extra damage or if it was me. but they said it was not fixable. but glad to see alex was able to get it fixed 😁👍🏽
I remember I once had a very badly cracked screen on my phone that I went in to get replaced. Despite it being very hard to read the screen, the tech checked every little last detail of the phone painstakingly making sure everything from the calling, wifi, sound, etc and all general function of the phone was OK before doing the screen replacement. Even checked voltage draw and charging. I didn't really understand why he went through all that trouble for simply a broken screen I asked to be replaced, but after watching some of these videos, I understand fully now.
This is a fantastic channel... Amazing repairs and best commentary ever... "that means we're going to charge the customer 6000 dollars" hahaha 😆🤣👌 Sometimes customers bring their car to my shop for diagnostics and it needs 1000 dollars in repairs before I can even safely test drive it!
Hey. I got to this video when it was 5min upload time and already had 26 likes. After watching there were 115 likes when clicked. Alex ...yr videos are too addictive.....well done. 😊
Yep! Or they tell me "I saw a video and it's just a five minute job." (yeah, that 1hr and 5min video they edited down to ten minutes, right?) or they say "I used to fix this stuff but I don't have time anymore, but I know it will be easy for a guy like you." 🤣
There is a translation for "it's probably an easy fix". It means "I've already tried to have it fixed at 3 different shops and now it is completely ruined" or "it has layers shorted and traces melted, eventually with exploded holes in the motherboard". That's all I can think of when I read "it's probably an easy fix".
😂 $6000 for repairs, love it!!! Please send thanks to your dad for sending my order out the same day, I recently purchased the NF Short and 20V Charging Station back in April... excellent packaging and shipping was fast.

Ebay Switch, savaged good parts and replaced with faulty ones. Then customer bought it, send it to you for repair, and discover half of the device is broken. 50$ switch now mutates into a 6000$ one. And probably still has more parts broken. Nice job as always, experiences pays off.
I see the screen issue all the time when a customer attempts to change the entire shell to something "cooler" like the transparent colors. The requirement to gently heat the adhesive and essentially peel the screen off the front frame seems to end in disaster more times than it doesn't. Most of the time a removal pick was slid directly into the ribbon cable and that's that.
did that on a really old DS Lite. Spent hours methodically and carefully replacing the shell, only to have the top screen flash and bottom screen not work at all. I couldn't find any damage and it may just be improperly seated ribbon cables (they looked finicky), but after hours I was tired of messing with it.
As a good practice I always take a photo from the area I'm going to work on in case something blows up or goes to the nineth dimension ... it takes you only a second to do but can save you hours of guessing what was where!
Real talk, I have been using the NF.Short for a few weeks now, and I use it almost every day. This thing really is awesome. As it pertains to your order question, I have made about 8 orders in the last 2 months with NorthridgeFix and the USPS label has always been generated on the same day as my order and really has shipped out most of the time on that same day, if not the very next day.
that's what happens when you unplug the screen cable without unplugging the battery, the customer fried 3 components trying to change the screen bezel.
Lol he gave you trash to fix, but said it was just a flat cable....nice, what a transparent integrity behavior. Well done, better than factory as usual.
"...and one little more cable I ripped from the motherboard (wi-fi connector actually) ... and if you open it anyway, check those two little insignificant small components I managed to break with the screwdriver and I don't know what they are... and maybe the screen is still working even if I dropped it and it is cracked a little bit..... and maybe the battery needs replacement, I don't know but the battery is just a little bit swollen, no big deal. The whole thing might still be be working after all with no intervention, as far as I'm concerned". Yes, I know what you mean, I get consoles pretty often from clients saying they only need dusting and the thermal paste changed while the consoles don't show any image whatsoever. I learned my lesson and I am filming everything.

Hello, can you let big boss do a video, I`d love to see his method of keeping track of which screw goes where. Im new to reparing things and I always end up with a few screws left over.
I'm a computer tech and the best trick that exist is to make groups and patterns with the screws. basically you put them in order (same in which they go physically). And also, magnet carpet like he has is a blessing to do just this.

I replaced the worn out shells of my Shure headphones with eBay replacements. I used the grinder pen to modify the shells to fit. It was the perfect size for the job.
Another great video. I noticed your using multimeter probes that are bent for easier access. I have looked all over for those including your website and cannot find them anywhere. Any chance of you selling them at some point as they would be so much better for getting in those tough areas.
I have seen this issue before with no display showing it being charged or turning on. What it might be is a hacked switch with AUTORCM installed. you will need to let it charge and then run the payload injector and run hekate and it will boot. once it boots you will gain back access to the unit.
I have a question, its probably pretty obvious but i just have to get it confirmed. I bought some cheap flux on ebay, its probably fake and really bad.
