I recently got this controller, mainly wanted it for kof and other 2d fighters but decided to use it for Tekken since practicing on the dualsense dpad hurt my thumb. Imo the dpad is really good, i feel like hitting diagonals is a lot more consistent than on dualsense and ofc the device manager is really helpful. The additional face buttons dont really serve much purpose for Tekken tho imo
My Octa died after a weekend of learning to kdb on a pad, since I just deteansitioned from stick to pad and leverless...the dpad was good but didn't take much of a beating. Now it registers the left diagonals when I press left. I prefer the Xbox one pad with the hybrid dpad. The comfortable shape of a floating dpad but with tactile and precise directional inputs. This, or the Gamesir G7 HE. The also last longer than the Horis
Seriously, I switched over to ps5 and man I miss that Xbox dpad. The ps5 controller is just a bad controller, the whole vibrations and haptic stuff is cool or whatever but for fighting games it’s not ir
I absolutely hate the D-pad on the PS5 controller. I refuse to use it for fighting games. I usually don’t struggle with inputs, but with the dual sense I drop combos more than a little bit and it’s infuriating 😂
Bro the fact that the hori octa has a dish dpad, mouse buttons not film, and it having 6 face buttons already made it better that the ps5's worst dpad in play station history
I've got the octa for Xbox series consoles. Not really a fan. I don't like the clicky face buttons. I realize that's a personal taste thing. I prefer the fighting commander for ps4. The face buttons aren't clicky, the ergonomics are better, and the dpad is better imo.
I agree dpad is a lot easier in terms of getting buttons and how the controller feels. I think octa is only better for movement tbh. Like I wish I get a controller that has the movement buttons of octa and the ps5 attack buttons
That controller is garbage not good for inputs and the buttons are very sensitive; it’s good for street fighter but not Tekken 8, dpad is terrible for movement which is critical in T8.
Do y'all recommend another pad by chance y'all know of? I heard someone won evo japan with the octa pad on Tekken, but if the dpad feels like a 360 controller I don't want that shit
@@shibamaycry if you're used to pad stick with it, anakin, joey, joe use pad. Some stick players say pad is better while stick is difficult. I started with ps4 pad and tested ps5 pad for a weeek, in the beginng buttons felt stiff specially the analog

How does it died on ur is just a defective one
People are always sleeping on the standard series X controller. The xbox controllers are amazing for fighting games.

Thats only cuz the xbox controller has a dish other than that they are terrible for fighting games u can play claw at all

Yeah after a couple weeks of really trying to play with the controller it’s just never got stuck with me! Idk what it is
Exactly why i bought the octa just give me a dish

Second comment. idk why u people shit on the hori octa for the dpad saying its terrible,
but u need to configured it with the software
From my experience the Octa is only good for sf
Chikerin won Evo Japan using this controller, so it works just fine for Tekken. He says he likes it a lot.
