Something really notable about that scene where Hiro removes his brothers card from baymax, he nearly took his brother's passion project dedicated to helping people and turned it into a murder weapon. He literally took out the heart that Tadashi made for baymax and replaced it with violence.

Low bar I know, but the motives made sense all the way through and we kinda knew the masked villain had to be Callaghan or Krei pretty early on. When I first saw this movie, I initially thought the villain was going to be Fred. I realized that this wasn't going to be the case, however, about a third way through the movie. Nevertheless, Fred fit the "person you would least suspect" mold, and I had already worked out a potential villainous motivation for him (unable to come up with any cool inventions of his own and stuck as the "mascot" for the school, he would steal a promising but not-yet-patented technology and attempt to profit from it). While I was wrong about Fred being the villain, I was right about his having a secret.

She did it twice: jumping onto the bridge required her to change directions from facing towards the bridge to being perpendicular to it ( the drift began in air so that the wheels would keep traction on landing, help reorient the cars and keep momentum) and drifting across the train tracks for similar reasons to the bridge jump (they needed to hang a hard right turn without slowing down or they'd get hit by the train so GoGo drifts across, keeping the speed and momentum while stopping them from hitting a wall on the other side of the train tracks)

IIRC, spicy foods have a sort of antimicrobial property, so eating something spicy meant it was safe (generally speaking). This was important before the era of refrigeration when food spoiled quickly in the warmer climates. Something Europeans didn't have to worry as much about, so they never really developed the same love of spicy foods as southeast Asia.

The whole print-comic team was originally a salute to Japanese pop-culture: Fred was a real Godzilla, Hiro & Baymax were Johnny Sokko & His Flying Robot, Gogo was Priss from "Bubblegum Crisis" (ask a really old anime fan), Ginger was a sushi chef, and Honey was a little girl with a "magic" subspace purse trying to be Sailor Moon AND Cutie Honey.
Instead, Lasseter said "We're not Marvel!" and turned them into the Scooby Gang, with Honey as Velma and Fred as Shaggy.

Explanation: back in the 80s and 90s, American comic books concentrated on appealing to adults so much that they forgot to do things to attract younger readers. This meant that a generation of American kids only had Japanese comic books if they wanted comic book stories meant for kids. Eventually, Japanese comic books started to eat into the marketshare of American comic books in their own market as the comic book-reading population aged.
American comic books realized too little too late what they did wrong. It wouldn't be until the introduction of Kamala Khan that American comic books once again started attracting a wave of younger readers.
Anyway, Big Hero 6 was Marvel's first panicked response to the rise of Japanese comic books in the American market. They basically grabbed a bunch of characters that had vague connections to Japan and threw them into one comic book.
As often happens with comic books that are slapped together at the last minute under spurious pretenses, the comic book sold poorly because nobody actually liked it.
After Disney bought Marvel, Disney animators looked for a Marvel property they could bring to the big screen that would not interfere with anything going on in the MCU. Because the comic book was so unpopular, they picked Big Hero 6, and the editors at Marvel gave them lots of freedom to mess with the characters and story as much as they wanted, so that's what they did.
This is not really a Disney anime, but a Disney interpretation of a Marvel superhero story.

OMG, Japanese people are not chili heads at all. Sure, mustard and wasabi after nuclear-powered, but for the most part everything is salty-sweet-sour in various proportions. Different Asian countries have different heat preferences.

Disney's adaptation differs drastically from the Marvel comic to be honest. They're similar in names only. Marvel's original Big Hero 6 comic was kinda strange.

Big Hero 6 started as a short Marvel series back in the late 90's. The only thing it has in common with the movie is the names of the characters (yep, even Wasabi and Honey Lemon), and that they are superheroes.

Omg, how have you never seen this movie before? It's everyone's childhood, including mine!😮
Still glad you watched it though.
Baymax has some really promising scenes, and Hiro breaks the ice sometimes, especially when they are running from Yokai.
All in all, wonderful movie, emotional soundtrack, and awesome characters!
This movie deserves a thumbs up in my book!

    • @delphinebriand1554

@@seiya.power.awesome.inspire For one thing, I don't care, i use the word for everyone, mate. Second, you literally didn't read properly what i wrote: but considering your comment you must be a very young child so let me explain it again for your small brain: "it can't be "everyone's childhood"", meaning that no, people who were already adults in 2014 cannot see this movie as part of their childhood. Do you get it or do you need me to make you a drawing? People born in the 90s can say the Disney Renaissance era was their childhood, but not the movies that came out after ~2005.
