      @Fatima Carrano It depends. Most of the time sequels aren't handled well and end up making the overall story weaker. If they planned it that's okay but for other movies such as megamind etc a closed story is enough. Not everything needs to be dragged on, a lot of stories have perfect endings and then studios still end up making a sequel that just detracts from what came before.

    • @leilanyx
      @leilanyx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@E_btsot798 well, jack's sister would be jamie's great-great-great-great, maybe one more great, grandma/aunt/relative, considering they say jack is over 300 years old which maybe places the flashbacks to jack's human life around the late 1600s, early 1700s? so perhaps it could have been a story passed down from generations. but i think ppl mainly think that jamie could be a relative of jack's sister bc i think the pond/lake they corner pitch in at the end is similar to the one jack drowned in? so it's kind of assuming that generations of sophie's future family never once thought abt moving, aha.

      @Melanxolyc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nah, he and Bunnymund are on the same level. The last one can be higher actually. Sandy only can manipulate the golden sand, but Bunny can shape shift, sense people's emotions, read their thoughts, travel through time and space all by himself and manupilate nature. I mean, he's the one who gave the earth a globe form and created all the continents. And Pitch is afraid of him as well-that's why he wiped out all mighty Pookas, leaving Aster all alone

    A little info about Jack's staff. A common misconception is that it is the source of Jack's magic, but that's not true. It's a conduit for stronger magic. He is still a winter spirit without it, but it's his only belonging and a vital tool. He can still make it snow, make frost, and as you saw in the movie, bring frost creations to life and make "happy flakes". His breath is also magical.
    But he can't fight or fly without it, which is why he couldn't escape the ravine. It helps him control the magic that is already within him. Which is why he was able to fix it in the first place. The first attempt was just him smashing two pieces of dead wood together. The second was him actually believing in himself, using the magic inside of him to mend it. Also, because Jack is a seasonal spirit, he doesn't exactly need believers to sustain himself as the Guardians do. But believers would definitely make him more powerful.
    I'd imagine it's also a comfort item as well. He spent 300 years almost completely alone, with no one to believe in him or give him the time of day. The Guardians knew of him, Bunny had even met him, but none were really there. And to make it worse, he never knew why. He had no memories. He's a 14-15-year-old boy who drowned trying to save his sister and was forced to spend centuries alone, with only a staff to his name. And when he finally did get his memories back, it was too late. Everyone he knew was already gone.
    His age is also why he might come off as selfish initially. His emotional and mental growth was stunted due to being stuck as a teenager for eternity. Which is why I personally hate any ship that involves him. Because they're all older than him. But his being selfish is also due to him only having himself for company for so long. He's had no one else to talk to. Of course, he's going to be eager to help them if it involves him finally learning his purpose. Gods know that the Guardians never helped him during his whole immortality. That's why they had to have a catch.
    This movie is dark and angsty, but they really glossed over just how much.

    There’s a reason in the books as to why Jack is so powerful despite no one believing in him. Evidently Jack was a literal star in those books with all the cosmic power within, and he chose to lock away both his power and his memory to live a human life. Him becoming a guardian likely unlocked a sizable portion of those abilities as the Moon Man saw fit.

    When this movie came out, I actually didn't plan on watching the movie although I liked the trailer.
    The movie was released around the same time that Madagascar 3 was (...I think it was Madagascar...) and I really wanted to watch that movie instead. We were visiting my sister who lives in another city and they (my mother and sister) had some things to do and after that, my mother and my sister wanted to go shopping, but I didn't.
    So we said they would bring me to the cinema, go shopping while I could watch Madagascar and then pick me up again. Now it happened that the things they had to do before took longer than expected, so I missed the beginning of Madagascar for around half an hour or more, so there was no point in watching that movie on this day anymore.
    Then instead I decided that I want to watch this movie since it would start in the next 10 minutes or so.
    And I was so so happy, that I could see it although I never planned to watch it at that time. Such a funny and astonishing coincidence now that I think back at that time.
    Also I love the soundtrack of this movie.
    Sorry if my English isn't so good, I actually don't speak English.

    This was a great movie, and an even greater reaction! You know, there's a similarly titled movie called "The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole". It's this really cool 2010 3d-animated film about owls fighting a war. It still holds up despite its age and I think you'd really like it!

    I think the true power of Jack Frost is to turn everything into a game and help people manage their fear. He did it with his sister so she wouldn't panic and break the ice. He did it with the kids so their fear wouldn't feed Pitch Black anymore. He is the playful side of winter, the little bit of fun during the darkest and most dangerous season.

    I love when people react to this movie because the original creator of the guardian series William (Bill) Joyce is from my hometown. He’s the sweetest and loves interacting with fans. He has also won an Oscar for a short film he wrote.

    Funny story about this movie. When I saw it when I was little I went to the theater when I was at the age where I questioned if Santa and the others were real. But after this movie. I looked to my mom and I said “I really believe in them”. But the craziest thing is right after the movie was over when I went looked outside the window of the theater it was snowing!! And I don’t mean flurries I mean the snow was maybe 6 inches deep and before the movie started it was sunny and there wasn’t even a hint that there would be snow. And ever since i during every first snow fall of the winter make a heart shaped snow ball and leave it on the ground and say “thank you jack. And I believe and thank you for my favorite season”. I’m 22 and I still do it to this day

    I've watched this movie at least 14 times. I've loved and cried every moment that everytime my family and I watch it together, they get weirded out how I can magically recite most of my favorite scenes. Gosh this movie is incredible and I can't say it enough. I cry every damn time; the music, humor, voice-acting, animations.... this movie deserved better, compared to mediocre films like Frozen was so overrated.

    Thanks so much for reacting to this movie! It's so underrated, and one of my absolute favorites. There's also a cool theory that the kid Jamie is distantly related to Jack Frost, which is why Jack sorta looked after him, and why Jamie was the 1st kid to believe in him. They also reference this movie in Wreck It Ralph 2, since many people ship Elsa with Jack Frost (myself included). 😊❄

    The boogeyman actually has a sad backstory. He was a general who served under Man in the Moon’s father. When monsters called Dream Pirates attacked the kingdom, forcing Pitch to leave his wife and daughter. His home was attacked when he was gone, his wife died, jumping from a window with one of their daughter’s dolls, while the little girl few away in a spaceship. When Pitch returned home, he thought his family was dead, so he voluntarily guarded the prison for the Dream Pirates. They were able to break his spirit by mimicking his daughter’s voice, and making him open the prison door and possessing him.

    I've seen it multiple times & I appreciate it more w/ each watch - the action, the comedy, the wholesome moments, etc, are all amazing.
    I also *love* everything about the characters tbh:
    - their *character designs* 8:14 9:53
    (badass Russian Santa 2:11, Australian Pooka warrior Easter Bunny 3:11 7:53, Human/Hummingbird hybrid Tooth Fairy w/ hordes of mini-fairies 2:48, etc)
    - their skills & *weapons*
    (i.e. swords 9:17, boomerangs, sandwhips 10:53, magic staff, etc)
    - their *powers & abilities*
    (i.e. dreamsand manifestations & thought bubbles, winter magic, magic tunnels, snow globe portals, flight, etc).

    This is exactly why I love this movie so much! It wasn’t just a very well done film, it transports you back to your childhood. I wish there was a reboot or something that extended the Guardian’s stories because they have so much more then the film showed.
    I also wanted to say that this movie has been my emotional anchor. See, I love movies, art, etc. After I loss my dog, Chloe, I was very depressed and had a MAJOR block. (writer’s and artist’s block) Became of this, I was frustrated that I couldn’t do what I love. This movie gave me hope (no pun intended, lol) to get out of my depression and was able to do the things I ❤️, so thank you DreamWorks. (Love you Miss C🐾
