I support Taraji and all women who have found their voice and their courage to speak out against oppression, abuse and wrong doing. I know from experience that once a victim Finds and flexes their voice….they can never be silenced again. She found her voice before the movie was released and she could not hold back. “I would check my ego everyday on that set” damn that’s some strong shxt right there. I saw acrimony like 3 times in theatre keep creating girl I’m with you taraji 💪🏿

The black Hollywood actors like taraji keep making "black movies" while gatekeeping black culture and ostracizing those who try to enjoy and come into our culture. Black movies do NOT feel mainstream. They feel like they're FOR black people. And black people are only about 14% of the US. Even less in other countries like China and UK. That means it will be very difficult to export these movies beyond the African American borders. Which ordinary french man or even senegalese cares about black slavery movies. I habe friends in west Africa that will rather see pretty woman than the color purple. Which in turn means it will not do as well in foreign box offices. Which means the actors will not bring in as much income and then they don't get paid as much as other actors whose movies sell across the world. What we need is more black actors taking protagonist roles in mainstream movies, movies that can attract foreign audience. Everyone should feel like they can relate ,it shouldn't feel like it's just for a community. That's my take
She's named from Swahili; Taraji - hope and Pendo - love, plus she speaks the truth. As more people are like Mo'nique and Kat on Unc Shay's platform. Let's see how Steve, Oprah and Tyler respond, if they do, but their gig is up.

Gail King’s ill-timed, inappropriate, and intrusive question at such crucial time as TCP movie promotion is more likely the TRUE root cause of TCP box office movie flop. It was clear Taraji was caught off guard in front of the audience - and was forced to provide an honest response to the out-of-place question asked.
@@tina247diva9 Well a lot of people do except any old thing because at the end of the day the money is still good money and she probably needs it. There are a lot of actors that are out there working for what they are not worth but they accept the money. It is part of the business. A lot of people get under paid at specially people of color. So yes once again People or some people will accept the money even if it’s not what they are worth. To expose the business industry. It is what it is. At the end of the day Oprah has the money she needs to stop treating her on people like they treated her before she start owning her own businesses. Just like Monique she took the job precious, she knew she was being underpaid but she took it and too set an example for other upcoming black Artists,to let us know what’s going on. it is what it is. Oprah has the money and she knows it. And she wonder why it flopped at the box office. Add the end of the day these elites are going to be exposed sooner or later. Warner Brothers set the budget. That's what studio heads do; Taraji was offered $150K for Benjamin Button and took it. I think she should have talked directly to Oprah, black woman to black woman, artist to artist, professional to professional. Taraji's response wasn't spontaneous--pay inequity is an issue near and dear to her heart. Oprah was a producer on the movie--why talk to Gayle instead of Oprah?
@@mariegraves6102 blah blah blah 🙄yeah yea yeah. Hi And She did talk to Oprah that’s why they have beef🙄. she even talk to her about the dressing room 🙄 trust me Taraji is all but nothing but woman she handled hers. and she still get treated less than Oprah never wanted to hear anything Taraji had to say or complain about. It is what it is. Oprah knows she wrong. She just don’t care🤨. she need to pay her what she is worth!!! and stop getting people blackballed.
Can’t do people ugly and get great rewards! All truth eventually comes to light this is the time for all of it! Taraji is one of my most favorite actresses. Can’t hold her down too much longer 🌟🌟🌟
Let's talk FACTS. I LOVE ME SOME TRARJI P. as far as Oprah goes I got 1st hand look at how Oprah feels about her black fans. I have pictures & proof. I'm not a celebrity just a hard working black woman that went to the Essence Music Awards in New York about 20yrs ago. When me & 3 of my girlfriends went. One of the almost worshiped the ground that Oprah walked on until up close & personal Oprah refused to take a picture with one of her biggest fans & treated my friend like she was a Nobody. Tell this day I will never forget how she made my friend feel. But Vivica Fox, real & Puff Daddy Combs not only did they talk to us but I have the picture to prove it. Oprah I have NO respect for her behind that because if it wasn't for her fans she wouldn't be where she is today. All the money in the world can not buy genuine morals, ethics, or love for others . So I'm riding with the real women of the screen who deserve much more pay and recognition. Look me up I have receipts. How dare you treat women of color so disrespectful.
Wake up! It’s done everyday, been done for ions! Come up out of that fantasy! Ugly, and mean works and wins EVERYDAY! It’s the majority! Folk tell themselves that crap to feel better and DO NOTHING! They want to pretend it’s going to get balanced out to fair! It does not!!
I wondered why Taraji seemed to disappear after POI. She is simply brilliant! She's real, intelligent and tells it like it is. Frankly, I have loved her in reruns of POI that after she's killed of (~2012) I stop watching and watch again the episodes in which she played. Lastly, she has called out the elephant in the room regarding Hollywood's pay and role discriminations that I've become more compelled and inspired to enjoy shows with black cast. It feels right to me and I am thoroughly engaged. That's the truth. I get it, and she is right and courageous, and I support the brave and truthful. She has become a martyr for the benefit of so many who were too scared to call all this out! God bless you, Taraji. You are a chosen woman.
Yes! 👏🏾👏🏾 I am sick of struggle, abusive triggering violent black movies!! Definitely don’t want to see a so called “reinvented remake” full blown musical during Jim Crow & oppressed women being abused! Black actors& celebrities need to face the facts that the whyte plantation Massa will NEVER treat you equally or pay you equally like your whyte peers! Start you OWN movie production companies, producing, directing, distribution ect Collaborate in partnership with other millionaires/investors! It’s 2024, get your OWN bag!
50 is the MAN. He is a great business man making movies as well as helping to put others on who she try to screw over. That’s how you do it too! Go head 50 you is the MAN! Mad love and respect!
Somebody can't use you when you're not also a part of the game. Steve gave Monique slave advice right there on his show, in the public! So...we know what he is at this point. Forget Ophry. CANCEL!
Steve feels indebted to Oprah. In the past it has been the norm that if you were interviewed by Oprah on her show then you’re going to blow up! Dr. Phil, Iyala Vansant, Gail King, Steve Harvey, Tyler Perry who actually wind up to help saving her by partnering with her for a season of time. So Steve feels indebted especially NOW with all that he’s facing in his personal life! I hope they both get thrower under the bus !
I had no intention of seeing the musical version. It has been a book, a movie, a stage play and now a re-imagined musical. Enough already! I knew it would flop when I first heard it was filming.😊
And her face when Gayle asked her was she gonna quit acting just broke my heart. I love her man she is one of the best white black don’t matter she up there with the greats
If Taraji quits acting, I don't know if I will watch TV again. She made me want to watch it. Especially when her and Terrence Howard were acting together.
As I heard it said (on RRG 😅) 'it's not your responsibility to save black men, it is a black man's responsibility to save you'. I really believe that is true 😢
I love the fact that Black in show business are standing up to the power that are in to keeping real Black's down , you go 50cent and Taraji tell it all bring out the truth
Taraji you are a ⭐ and you will never stop shining. If no one has ever told you mama you are loved . This too will pass and you will rise far beyond what you could ever even imagine .....I love you for just being you never stop doing you mama❤❤❤❤
so true. I watched it before I heard anything about the interview and was bored with the whole movie. didn't like any of it. now the first one, girls I loved it and still watch it at least once a month and read the book often. I am all for TPH. she speaks the truth
Team Raji. She has the right to speak her mind. Oprah is worth like 3 billion, she could have good her the remaining 350k out of her pocket. At least Tyler did give her thr 500k for the movie she did with him.
Tyler, owns the studio and paid her $500K because that's what she asked for because he calls ALL the shots. And remember Tyler never spends more than $20M to make a film. Oprah didn't need to her squat! Tarjai is a grown arse woman, if the math was mathin, she should showed them her hand! But nawh, she took the money and then complained....NOT COOL!
So Steven Spielberg is worth 4.8 billion, which is 2 billion more than Oprah and 4+ billion more than Quincy, but Oprah should pay the 350K out of her pocket.
50 Cent is a grown ass man still carrying a grudge because Oprah didn’t like his music because it’s violent and he still butt hurt about. It ain’t nothing real about him bashing somebody because of his ego being hurt. His music is violent based on drug dealing and violence in the street so he needs to get over it. Oprah ain’t gotgot to like his music.
Really? Not uplifting? But they've said this was a reimagining of the original. That Celie has an imagination this time--and there is real triumph in this new version. Not true?
I really hope Taraji doesn’t bow down to these people and stands her ground. I know it’s easier than said but sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself!!!
Dale king's top show was sabotaged by Oprah when she said. Why do you have those steps there? And it goes to nowhere why set look like that? And the next thing I know king show was the endso. Come on, stop putting yourself down and make itself better. Everything I told do by the greatest God and you all seem to understand that, but give those actresses and active what they deserve. And you know that they all work more than 500 thousandlook at the work that they put in. And sick or not. They still have to go on to continue the show to entertain people like myself. I support Taraji and all women who have found their voice and their courage to speak out against oppression, abuse and wrong doing. I know from experience that once a victim
Finds and flexes their voice….they can never be silenced again. She found her voice before the movie was released and she could not hold back. The abuse had gotten so bad by then that her very being would not allow her to remain silent anymore. We are listening 💜💜
Taraji's been speaking out against pay inequity in Hollywood for at least 10 years. It wasn't about Oprah ot The Color Purple.
She is a Superior Actress.
@@mariegraves6102 I see that now after digging a little! It’s crazy how things can be taken out of time and context and made to look like something else! But this did open my awareness to yet another inequality in the world.

Not nice!
Taraji is a PHENOMENAL actress. I definitely think she deserves her money but closed mouths don’t get fed so I’m glad she speaking up
The black Hollywood actors like taraji keep making "black movies" while gatekeeping black culture and ostracizing those who try to enjoy and come into our culture. That's my take
I believe Tarajji! Her work speaks for itself, she is a great artist.
Tell the truth Taraji. It's about more than just the Color Purple. Taraji is shining light on an industry issue.
She's named from Swahili; Taraji - hope and Pendo - love, plus she speaks the truth. As more people are like Mo'nique and Kat on Unc Shay's platform. Let's see how Steve, Oprah and Tyler respond, if they do, but their gig is up.
Pay our Black People💰💰💰
Organize as a company too if you're an entertainer to write off those team expenses against your tax bill. Everything associated with a business is deductible.
Exactly. I can’t believe she convinced herself even for a second that it was her ego. Don’t let nobody turn this racial shit into a Jedi mind trick on you.

They tag team people. Gail is Oprah mouthpiece
Right!! Or... she could've "Acted" like everything was just fine cuz that is the best thing to do for the movie!!

😅Yes. Look at p. Diddy.
Excuse some of the misspelled words I get so heated when it comes to ppl praising someone that does not deserve it. 🔥🔥🔥
thats the irony, oprah wanted this to be her magnum opus but stepped on peoples toes to do so
