The main difference imo is the satisfaction you get from progressing. Ghost final boss - what an amazing game. Sekiro mini boss - vegeta standing in the rain looking to the sky
@@justdontgivea6880 Sekiro is very hard even a mini boss and you need to watch dragon ball z to get Vegeta thing (arc cell and it's the best arc for me)
Seriously, sekiro's combat system is god tier. It really felt like you are wielding a sword. And on top of that it is balanced. The enemies hits hard as hell but all attacks can be deflected by proper timing. In a way that enemies may be overpowered on offense while sekiro is overpowered in defense
@@adamyuridopted811 I took a long break once I got to Isshin Sword Saint, the final boss. Took me months and months to beat him, ended up swapping to PC from PS4 in that time and beating his ass on Keyboard and mouse. Now I can beat the entire game in 3 hours
I guess you haven't played many games then because Sekiros combat system is one of the simplest and easiest I've ever seen, the difficulty is faked and not satisfying at all
@@DJLiddle When you learn to recognize the bosses' attack animations it's easy to beat them all without getting hit even once.At first i was overwhelmed by the difficulty but now on NG4 it feels really easy.
If a game becomes inconvenient it removes the fun part off it. I have played sekiro it's great but a poison to the single player gaming lovers. The future of Single player games is based on how many players finish the story or full game unfortunately due games like these only 40% gamers are doing so. I did not say that a member from the uncharted team said that
I love both games, but the combat in Sekiro places it as one of the best games of all time for me. I’d say both are essential if you like Japanese historical fiction - there are a lot of references to folklore and culture in Sekiro too.
@toptier bryan if you actually think this than you’d be able to explain it. If all you can do is say that it’s sucks than that means that it’s not actually bad and you’re just hating on it because it’s popular. If you want people to respect your opinions than you should give reason to believe that they are actually yours

Defeating a boss (even mini bosses) in Sekiro feels like graduating from college. Visuals are pretty awesome too. Sekiro devs didnt focus too much on making it look real but the environment are pretty stunning, especially in Senpou temple and fountainhead palace. :)
Oh, but there's a reason why Sekiro is not focused on looking realistic, and the name of this is Multi Platform game. Normally when Sony is the Publisher or the Studio for the game, they make sure the game looks the best possible for the console. When a game is Multi Platform, you will only get stunning graphics on PC.
@@lawrencemalone-px6qeI have tried it on the hardest difficulty and it's not that difficult imo. The enemy attacks are just the same, the only difference is in the scaling.
@@lawrencemalone-px6qe That's flattering but I don't think so. My point is that I don't think a harder difficulty makes much changes if the movesets are the exact same-if one manages to go mostly hitless in medium difficulty, harder difficulties shouldn't be the challenge. Or at least that was the case for me.
@@MustardGuy161 Beat it then play on new game plus. There is a new merchant that you can buy a charm that makes you get one shot if you get hit. I use it and make the game challenging. If you want to it to be even harder play on an easier difficulty so it requires more hits to kill that enemy but you’ll still get one shot. 👍
@Jacob DiCicco except there are quite a few. Most of the assassin's creed games are closer to it on terms of combat than sekiro, so is god of war, spiderman, the infamous games and witcher. Stances don't make it comparable to either nioh or sekiro. People want to compare it bc it's setting and prior to sekiro there hasn't really been a big AAA game with this setting done well. Not to mention the stances in ghost are used completely different than in nioh. Nioh has attack, defense and mix (high, low, med) where as ghost's stances deal with certain enemies quicker than others (the hard counter that pretty much ALL open world games give you so combat isn't bullshit) but instead of tools or weapons it's a stance. The inclusion of stances does not hold any merit as a comparison. As someone whose played the whole souls borne and nioh catalog the combat is ghost is nothing like it is in any of them being in a completely different genera than either sekiro or nioh. So you really can't compare them
@Jacob DiCicco I know it's not intended to downplay either but the comparison isn't one that can be made in terms of gameplay or which is better bc of the difference in genera. The only fair comparison between the two is the astetic and setting. It's the same with nioh as well. Making a video such as this is with the title is purely click bait bc when it comes down to it, they aren't in the same genera and thus are meant for two different players. The only thing that could be worth saying in regards to comparing nioh/sekiro to GoT is difficulty. Bc if you're going in expecting souls like challenge then it's not the game for you. But if that's not what you're after and you're after a good 3rd person open world RPG with good combat (an upgrade to the Witcher in pretty much all regards) then this it's worth picking up. Anything past that is not one that could be made bc of how different they are.
I got platinum in both of them this year. To me, Ghost of Tsushima is really more about the beautiful immersive world and the setting. It's a type of game that you want to immerse yourself into and explore every inch of that world and culture. On the other hand, Sekiro is way more of a challenge. It also has beautiful sceneries, but you link each of them with a struggle and eventually a boss fight you overcome. In terms of pleasure and intensity, I felt like Ghost of Tsushima had pretty constant attention and enjoyment from me. Whereas Sekiro is broken down into sequences where you need to finish a small area to reach the next one, and some boss fights in between them. And honestly, those boss fights, once won, feel like the best thing ever. To me, Sekiro gives you that feeling of evolving from a newbie to mastering a fight like no other game ever did. I love them both, and I love talking about them. Hope my comment was useful :).
@Carl Ward Sekiro is clearly not only about the challenge, the challenge in Sekiro only exists for the satisfaction after you get passed it. Sure, sometimes the challenge might be more than it's needed for a certain sense of accomplishment but Sekiro also has a good narrative but most people ignores it. And if it truly was only about the challenge, it wouldn't have won GOTY anyways
I would choose sekiro it's one of the best games combat wise I've ever played in my life never felt cheap when you died, also love that it's small gigabyte wise so it's something I always leave on my PlayStation
On the real, Sekiro prepared me for Ghost. Now Hard mode is actually very easy. Lol. But I just like to believe Ghost is the Sekiro DLC about Tomoe we never recieved. Lol.
Forced myself to full platinum Sekiro before Doing Ghost. Now i feel it's candyland heh.. wrecking everything on max difficulty ofc. i don't like comparing things but Sekiro is beyond everything when it comes to katana fights. From software awesoness.
@@RafikiafReKo As much as she was talked about, I was really expecting it. But I hope they're just busy with Elden Ring. Like, I'm coo with that. Hahah.
I followed up Ghost of Tsushima with Sekiro and LOVED them both! Ghost had so many “oh my God that’s beautiful” moments. The lighting and particle effects were amazing. Sekiro was very challenging and made you feel so accomplished when you took down a boss. Especially since you can’t get help from friends. In Ghost I felt like an unstoppable force. Which is both good and bad. Good, because I got to play around with a lot of weapons/skills. Bad, because I never really felt challenged like I do in Sekiro. I highly recommend playing both.
@@JakeJupiter Jin's counter to a thrust is a spinning slash from wind stance or a kunai to the face. personally, i prefer sticky bombing them just to watch them panic for a second and explode on the next.
the thing i hate about GOT is how he dmages enemies with large shields while they have them up (AI is so stupid ) you rarely see clashing of swords and how he has advantage over spear wielders wthout any special footsies ,feints or gap closing techniques if they used a little more time to fix these issues and polish even more gameplay it would propably be GOTY. Almost everything else is better over sekiro
I love that this video keeps changing the subject to eventually being fully about Elden Ring by the end of it. It's implied existence is torturously haunting us.
Combat in ghost is tight as can be once you adjust to no lock on (but if you've played infamous or Spiderman it's not that big of a shift) it's worth getting but if you're expecting a similar experience to souls then don't
I played both and idk why but ghost combat is wet and makes me wanna bust a nut shadows just made me what to break my console and even tho it was fun I feel there could have been a vast improvement to moves and powers like I was kinda disappointed shadows becomes just parry when you get good and gets extremely boring ghost does to dont get me wrong just the flow and heavily strike armour and setting just make it so fucking wet
@@brianjones2254 it becomes just parry for those that limit themselves to that lone mechanic. Sekrio actually made me emotional when I beat it. I have never played a more rewarding, beautiful game in my life. I really want to play ghost of tsushima though it looks amazing.
Hey! If you haven’t played GoT yet, I highly recommend you to do so. It is an amazing game, mostly the music and the story. In terms of combat, there are things you will like and things you will not. How some people are already saying, comparing it with sekiro is not really good. Sekiro focuses more on the actual combat and bosses, while character change and development + story plays crucial role in GoT. As for me, it is one of the best games I ever played, just little bit under bloodborne. If sekiro made you emotional, which I understand, you will enjoy the composition of good music and amazing storyline in GoT for sure. Ghost is an open world rpg. Sekiro is a 3d metroidvania/rhythm game. It feels wrong to compare them though. However Sekiro (like all the from software games) has a special place in my heart that few other developers have managed.
@@LeoHiranoo Sekiro IS A METROIDVANIA, has the same progression system as one and you travel for the most part around a big interconected map. Thats why we say is a metroid vania.
@@raulrojas9253 What defines a metroidvania is progression through acquiring skills and tools to unlock access to new areas. In Sekiro you have access to most of the game's areas after getting the grappling hook in the begging of the game.

The game has four different endings, each obtained by doing different actions throughout the second half of the game. Some of these playthroughs are quick and lets you skip bosses and areas, while one is complicated and takes you back and fourth through areas to trigger the next phase of the quest. Each playthrough feels different. Likewise, some items for your prosthetic and some arts cannot be obtained without playing through a second or third time.
@Steven Murphy I've gone through sekiro 10 times and I'm still not bored. Playing with no kuro charm and demon bell makes the game far more challenging and makes you better at deflecting. I hated sekiro at first because I am generally impatient with games that are difficult but with sekiro I got through it. Because of the sense of accomplishment sekiro gives it is one of my favorite games ever.
@@michaelstahl2967 still, I'm replaying Sekiro and yet, I am almost done in 30 hours. Sekiro playtime it's based on your ability, so, if we are removing dialogs/cinematics remove any time we repeat a boss or mini boss in Sekiro since it's not new content but repetition.
It's nice to know that NIOH 1 and 2, SEKIRO and GHOSTS OF TSUSHIMA all delivered. But Sekiro is easily the best of the 4 because of the gameplay and tighter design. Ghosts of tsushima is beautifully presented but it also falls too much to the trappings of AAA open world templates even when it occasionally improves upon it in a minor way. Nioh 1 comes close though, and Nioh 2 was quite similar to it's predecessor and Nioh 1 took a lot from from software. At the end of the day, beating SEKIRO was the most fulfilling experience of those 4.
I'm very torn between the 2, they both look phenomenal. I'm new to playing any games like this, I normally just play racing games. The open world of Ghost looks amazing but the craziness of Sekiro looks crazy fun. 🤯
@@jerry9624 The thing about sekiro is that a lot of people hit a wall by not being able to beat a boss and stop playing. I love the soulsbourne games and sekiro is one of my favorites but these games, especially sekiro, have a steep learning curve.
Definitely start with GOT then. Just my two cents. Sekiro is a blast but be prepared for PATIENCE. GOT is a gorgeous game and no matter what these Sekiro cultists say, the combat is fun, compelling story, beautiful open world and just a great piece of art overall. After you've completed it...feel free to decent to the hell that is Sekiro lol
If you are a casual gamer and want a chill game with a large open world, buy ghosts. If you want a challenging game with cool boss fights and enemy encounters, buy sekiro Personally i enjoyed sekiro ALOT more than ghosts of tsushima simply because I'm just burnt out on open world games so I enjoyed the tighter focus of Sekiro. Also the combat system in Sekiro is just perfection once you get used to it
No, GoT is just an extremely well done variation on Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry. While the trappings are really excellent, it doesn’t really innovate that much honestly. The only serious commonality with Sekiro is the Japanese lore.
I am not trying to start a fight or anything, but how did Sekiro actually "innovate" when compared to Dark Souls or Bloodbourne? They changed the setting to medieval Japan, they made the combat faster (which is just borrowing from more Action oriented games like AC or Witcher or Nioh), they made parry a preferable escape mechanic rather than dodge, they gave you a hook and that's about it, right? They removed a lot of things like weapons and armor and spells, so that's kind of anti-innovation imo :D (ok we can view the prosthetic arm gadgets as "spells" i suppose) The point i'm trying to make is that they are not comparable not because of innovation, but because of "sub-genre". Souls games are in a category of their own these days, so trying to compare an action rpg to a Souls game is... kind of pointless really. I would actually compare GoT to the Witcher 3 in terms of Combat, Story, Lore, World Immersion, Dialogue and RPG mechanics, and if i had to compare it to the Witcher 3, i would be extremely torn between the two.
@@denius1704 next to bloodborne, sekiro innovated more than any other souls from fromsoft. They pushed what could be done with the souls like combat system with terms of aggression and actually controlling the pacing of the combat and being aggressive. Not to mention the fluidity and the responsiveness of the combat highly trump's anything that the souls series has done outside of bloodborne. The story might not be the best however it's not bad.
@@iownall2222 I can agree with that. So they innovated when compared to other Souls games right? But here's an argument that GoT innovated when compared to other action rpgs in the same way. They made the combat more fluid, more diverse, much tighter, with great tactile feedback. They innovated the open world design by reducing the UI elements and integrating all visual ques into the world itself (eg. the wind directing the player instead of an arrow on a minimap, or you being able to see a point of interest just by observing your environment for smoke in the distance for instance). We also shouldn't forget the absolute insane draw distance in this game, which allowed them to do all those visual ques. They innovated with the art design showing how powerful color can be and even though GoT is not the most high poly game ever made, it still blows most other games out of the water when it comes to that WOW factor. And even though both games innovated in their own fields, we still can't compare them, because said fields are different :) This game should NOT be overlooked or even just given good marks and forgotten about in a year. It should be compared to the Witcher 3 and Mass Effect, and not freaking Assassin's Creed. I just finished Act 2, because i've been doing every single side mission and exploration i can find in the first 2 zones and i am blown away by the characterization, the story and the overall emotion the game gives the player. And that combined with the awesome music and combat just... WOW!
@@denius1704 right with regards to other souls games and the bar at which combat has been set. But it's like you said, GoT is a completely different genera and one that I hadn't really been hooked on since the Witcher 3. Ghost has definitely raised the bar significantly when it comes to it's genera
Loved both games so much. But I'm with most of the other people here, Sekiro was king and I wish so desperately that they would release full-fledged DLC for the game. Most times I'm not one to buy DLC for a game unless it is absolutely worth it, and I would love if this would happen. Maybe with them releasing the most recent update, we might expect them to implement something, but who knows.
a point: sekiro actually has a lot more to it's story than ghost of tsushima if you dig deep and bring the story together or well you could just read it online but still
Horizon blew me away. GoT is just a fun chill. I felt like Horizon was always building toward something and had an awesome crafting/loot system. GoT is great therapy after playing through TLOU2 a few times.
souls borne considering your name, it doesn’t surprise me that you fell that way lol. Some people prefer an open world with a lit of story and character involvement.
I love both games for different reasons. Ghost of Tsushima for me has a more compelling narrative and set of characters but Sekiro really made me feel more of a sense of achievement when I overcame a lot of the harder enemies. I still have yet to beat Sekiro as I am still struggling with it but I am determined to stick with it till I finish the game. Both are amazing games!
I really liked Ghost of Tsushima, it's beautiful and the story was decent, but Sekiro's combat and traversal is a million times better, everything about it is more varied, imaginative and fine tuned. It's just supremely bad ass.
Edit: major SPOILER ahead in reply Why not compare GoT with RDR2? They both have horses, takes place in old days, and they’re both open world. More similar than Sekiro imo
But for real tho, RDR2 feels so much more alive than ghost. Just the npc's, things you could do, animals you can hunt, just the overall experience playing as arthur morgan feels much more immersive than playing as jin. Also the stupid mini cutscenes that play during quests in ghost breaks the flow of the game
@Justin King well, got is an action game,it doesn't try to be rdr2,and I agree with you,rdr2 world, characters and story is fantastic, the only rockstar game I've ever finished and it's one of my favourites this generation,BUT,the action sucked, shooting didn't feel good,at all,on the other hand ghost has very satisfying combat and beautiful looking world. Two games focusing on different things, doing those things very well.
Wow, what a great analysis and review of both games in this similar World and genre. I was always wondering which one of these two is the better game even though they are so similar? Now knowing they're both great games and personal taste is what separates them, I'm down! Down to play both games and wait for the next sequel!
I like my games challenging and rewarding after completing that challenge... games that are not mindless... thats why I like Sekiro. Combat is surreal and visceral and hard af
The the combat in Sekiro feels like a dance to me especially genichiro I haven’t played ghost yet so I’m a bit biased but I hardly think it or any other game will ever come close to sekiros combat
you are a true intellectual, when i first fought genichiro i was like "damn hes easy too read" but when that goes into your head you start to become cocky and that cocky-ness is the reason why you fail, and once you finish that boss you start to feel like the game is too easy (at least to me because genichro was the reason how i completely mastered sekiros deflect mechanics) some of the annoying bosses like the second fight with the G.Ape, headless, underwater headless, and that one warrior in the underground passage (forgot his name) are really hard and once you finally beat them theres this relief that you finally jumped over the hurdle and actually got something good out of it. Let it be the prayer bead, or you gotten better at the game because of the fight, or simply you just enjoyed it. What am i doing i went everywhere with this lol
I don't think it ages well though. The combat system is very one dimensional in Sekiro. Don't get me wrong, it was incredible the first time I played it.
@@Tohrutakanashi had the EXACT same experience. Died against Genichiro about 20 times. Once the mechanics clicked in my mind, beat him and the rest of the game was easy mode (except for Owl - Father)

@@sparkyphantom92 Nah if he wants to experience the in-game world just watch a walkthrough on TH-cam. These games are all just for show honestly. I mean if you play the game it's just long grass and trees everywhere. The graphics are fine they're not great. The combat mechanics are weird just 3 slices and the enemies done. People comparing this to Assassin's Creed haven't yet realized how stupid it is that whenever you sneak up on a guy and he literally screams every other soldier is still not aware of the presence of the character. I know the game title is "Ghost" but make it a little realistic in terms of Assassinating it's not like the protagonist has some super powers.
I think sekiro's story telling is underrated. Its just you should have played souls game before to properly understand it. It is just like an anime if you truly play it
I like the tone, atmosphere, and tightness of Sekiro but Ghost of Tsushima had better graphics, exploration and visuals. The games I’d say on are on par and each have their own strengths
Played both games, having done that I can say that GoT has a very good open world immersion, I mean if u r buying the game to not appreciate the dynamic world, u r lying to yourself. Combat is rather a fine line belove quality over quantity, u r given the tools to win you win. Gameplay has more verity over sekiro. RPG gameplay options makes sense, sticky bomb rules. Enemy AI seriously didn't expect samurai to go shinobi, they don't even pose a threat now, hard mode is true mode. Wind, foxes, bird, heck even wired looking trees will call out to you making open world exploration give you fells. Large spread lush vegetation, colour leaking skies, exquisite building will have you screenshot-ing at every spot. Has a assassin creed far cry vibe, but can stand on its own. Sekiro is a very action oriented game, it's dark souls, in Japan, without shields, non zombie-hollow enemies, quick ninjas everywhere, main charected that talks and jumps, charecteres with moveing lips (observe the last geni fight when you stab him, his face gives it all) ,Warriors with jugs filled with your blood, shadows dying more than twice. Has a story. World tells a story but not at soulsborne level. I expected a subboss warrior monk, a subboss dual wielding monkey, a deacon of the deep styled mobu village peasent boss but from soft was like nope they are monsters with only one hp bar and u will meet them regularly, and they will make you wonder why isshin pulls a glock and throughs lightning like it's ceramic shards. I expected a "yet to be dragon" snake boss and a "yet to be dragon" fish boss. From soft was like nope you are a puny man to even look you to them and u must strike from the shadows before dying twice, and they will make you wonder why true corrupted monk has a stage with trees with grapple points to not make her the final boss (I defeated her without any consumables and grappling, worth of her title and role), They are different games altogether, sekiro is linear and has fantasy bosses, GoT is open and is made for love of its modes. Its more reasonable to compare GoT with fallen order than sekiro. But if you can, play both, but FOR ME sekiro>GOT.
Both games are good in their own rights! Nioh 1/2, Sekiro and Ghosts of Tsushima are my three favourite games on PS4. Growing up with Onimusha and Tenchu, I may be abit biased here😅
@Ryoshikari yeah I definitely agree on your statement. I just loved the combat system and just slashing through yokai, I really liked the yokai lore as well, not perfect but intrigued me to research on them and I learnt so much! The items are pretty great but like you said I wish they reduced it cause yeah I get a mountain of trash before I get something I want. So definitely by no means perfect, but still a great great game😌
oof I have a PC all I can play is sekiro and dark souls lol but I will definitely be getting the ps5 when it comes out so I can play all these great games
I’ve played, loved and gotten platinum for both of these games. I love the aesthetic of both of them, samurai and stuff like that in ancient Japan are awesome. Sekiro is more linear and focuses on being a hard game, but ghost is pretty laid back which can be better or worse. Ghost combat feels good but it still pretty simple so I feel it gets old fast. Sekiro is somewhat to but with all the different patterns of foes and prosthetic tools the combat isn’t ever necessarily boring. Everyone knows ghost looks incredible, sekiro does to but the two don’t compare. I’m not a fan of hard games, I enjoy a challenge but I don’t buy games cause there hard. But sekiro is better then ghost imo
I would argue that Ghost is harder and not for the right reasons. Yes Sekiro is more punishing and demands a higher level of skill from the player but Ghost has a really annoying habit of having enemies glide across the ground to hit the player when they otherwise would have missed. Sekiro dramatically reduces the amount of enemies with move assist, yes attacks can be deceptive on their range but it’s still apart of the animation and doesn’t look unrealistic. Ghost will have sumo wrestler mongols in heavy armour slide across the ground which is very inconsistent and unrealistic looking, it never feels fair being hit by these kinds of attacks and unfortunately they are quite common.
Like both very much. To me Sekiro was a little too tough / frustrating, even as a Soulsborne vet, but I still really enjoyed it, although I spend so much time dying over and over to bosses that it's a game I probably won't replay. Ghost has great moments , gameplay and so far I'm really digging it ,but activities does seem repetitive, with not much mission variety and too many repeat of activities, making it a little tedious at times (clearing 50 fox dens, which are pretty much all the exact same thing, etc..). It can also be tedious to explore the world, as even with the armor that reveals more of the terrain, it's alot of back and forth to fill in the map. In the end both are great games though.
I am starting to get burned out with ghost of tsushima about halfway through which never happened with sekiro. Too much open world formula, constant dialogue/cutscenes and same fights and enemies. Ghost wouldve benefited from a challenge mode
"To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.” - Sun Tzu Sekiro combat is literally the embodiment of this quote.
And getting the love from fextralife who don't even hide they're here for the money, which is why they compare two popular games just to get clicks as well no matter if the video doesn't make sense at all
Enjoyed this breakdown. I am looking into Sekiro since I just finished GoT. IMO GoT is p4p the best game I've ever played. It was the only time I felt as tho I was playing a role in a movie not a video game. Last game to feel like that was the MGS.
Sekiro just feels so perfectly tuned as a machine, you have to marvel at that level of dedication within its design. Ghost of Tsushima is a great game but doesn’t have the the same tight design, ghosts is a different game of which I deeply enjoyed. You as a player manipulate the game to suit you, Sekiro bends you to its will and makes you better as a player.
thats what fromsoft games always strive to be, and while sekiro doesnt reach the ecstatic heights of ds1, it doesnt Hit its lowest lows, either, which makes it the best soulsborne game so far
@OGSTICKYICKY You could say that about every game. What does ghost of thushima bring? Go there, talk to him, slay some people. See? Sounds dumb isnt it? Just like your comment. Sekiro is different than dark souls or bloodborne. It has completely different gameplay. Play the game before saying dumb stuff.
@OGSTICKYICKY from/souls games always did something new. Demon souls started a genre. Dark souls defined it. Bloodborne had the most unique theme and more aggressive combat. Sekiro took an entirely different direction in gameplay which no other game has done before. All these games did something new to gaming you just have to actually play them to realise that yknow.
I think ghost of Tsushima is one of the best games I’ve ever played especially on ps5 but one thing I have to give Sekiro, it’s the most satisfying game ever as far as defeating a boss .the gameplay is the best sword play ive ever seen in both games... I think they’ve both mastered combat in there own way.
I got the platinum for both games. I do love the hardcore difficulty of From Software games, but Ghost Of Tsushima has a very special place in my heart.
Both are excellent games but I much prefer the challenge in sekiro! The pure joy and sense of achievement with every boss you beat is hard to match. Most boss fights in sekiro I started off hating the boss as I got smash time after time, but by the time I beat them and figured out their move set, I just wanted to start the fight all over again. I can’t recall a game that put me through such a roller coaster and been so enjoyable.
I love the immersion you have in the game, and GoT has tons of that. So good pointing on that. I beat both games but I'll definitely would play GoT again.
I wouldn't say Ghost's difficulty depends on how many enemies you fight. Different classes fight differently depending on level. Basic spearmen aren't as challenging as high ranking spearmen. Roving ronin are more measured and clever fighter than bandits. Admittedly, you're dying way less in Ghosts than in a Souls-like, but the challenge and gameplay loop is intensely satisfying. Double that in Legends mode.
Nioh is the best of these three, it has the best combat and the best replayability value, much more variety and depth of content, better level design when it comes to world structure, shortcuts, saving points placement... the only part where Nioh doesn't win might be the graphics but considering that this improves the playability it's a very welcome thing.
I don't know, since i played sekiro, there is no one games satisfied me in melee combat games anymore, even elden ring. In sekiro, boss is a real thing. Even bosses can mikiri counter you and get instant death. You'll always get surprised in every boss you fought. The none repetitive game i've been play. From start to the end, it feels solid and would never waste my time for unecessary content. Funfact happen to me, while i'm playing sekiro, i found that i playing this game just to find some crazy boss would give me headache😅.
Sekiro was my favorite too....till elden ring came out. Idk why you didnt like it, you can literally play like sekiro in elden ring, parry, use ichimonjii, etc.
@@Memeaic because i've played bloodborne & dark souls 3. ER gameplay is too similar to them both, same shape but with different stitches. In other way sekiro, is revolution of souls-born game. I love elden ring, but bloodborne and sekiro always have place in mine.
Depends if you like punishing difficulty or not. I could never get into Sekiro (or the Soulsborne games in general because of it, if you can then good for you). I feel a large majority of people are going to have a considerably better experience with Ghost due to that single reason, but of course its up to individual players.
It’s not as difficult as people say it is, you just have to be willing to die to a boss for an hour or two before you beat it. You know, how all games used to be before people got used to watered down difficulty. It’s all about your mentality when you die. Instead of getting frustrated you have to recognize it’s a part of the learning process, and you will start to enjoy sessions learning boss movesets. It definitely takes a different mindset and I understand why some casual gamers aren’t attracted to it but then all you get are games that are way too easy that you steamroll through. Basically just movies masquerading as games, there’s no sense of accomplishment. I guess some people don’t look for that in games, maybe they are just looking for a certain vibe when relaxing. I’m all about the gameplay though, I’m a purist in that way
That’s like saying basketball and baseball are totally different but the ONLY thing they have in common is a ball. Dude the ball is a huge part of the game lol

A great video.. glad it popped in my recommendations...GoT was a fun game and nice overall...Sekiro combat mastery and game design is something I still come back to play a year after the platinum.
Never really wanted or needed big challenges while I'm playing a game. It's supposed to be fun and excessively difficult games just aren't fun for me. Also I've never held any version of pride in the notion of being really skilled at a video game. GOT was the perfect mix of being complex enough to stay interesting, easy enough to stay fun and with a good story, beautiful landscapes and satisfying combat, it was just right in my opinion.
Honestly due to the gameplay and combat, Sekiro beats out GoT imo. I find challenging games to be much more enjoyable. And GoT was far to easy for me to enjoy.
I played Ghost immediately after finishing Sekiro and the combat just felt slow and easy. Ghost has a lot going for it, but Sekiro's combat is just on another level.
Currently started Ghost and it’s a beautifully designed, well crafted world that highly enjoyable but no game in the past has come close to being as satisfying as Sekiro when it comes to defeating bosses. Let’s see if Tsushima it’s satisfying in other ways.
you're talking like Ghost of Tsushima has Storyline and Sekiro has only mechanics, Try searching Sekiro Lore It's more deep and mysterious and adventurous than most games , every character has a story. Tsushima has the good visuals Over Sekiro that's the only thing , storytelling in sekiro is far more rich.
Sometimes it's a good idea to go to a different game and play that instead for a while. I absolutely destroyed Sekiro's final boss within minutes after beating Ori 2.
I've only played and finished ghost of tshushima but the beauty, the ease of picking things up ,and how he just absorbs things from a distance is so satisfying lol you don't have to turn the character or bend down to pick things up.And when you call the horse it's there straight away.
Everything combat wise feels so much more satisfying in Sekiro, especially deflecting and blocking. I do like ghost of Tsushima but the combat is just boring. And I definitely dont feel much accomplishment when beating bosses.
one of the GOT problems is that it's not challenging in any way... After certain point in the game is boring just beacuse of how easy it is it feels really incredible at first, but later on it's too repetetive...
@@JakeJupiter I found it boring for the first 5 hours, then it got good as I learnt some stances and new moves. Then it got dull again as my health bar and regen circle point thingies got OP. I put it on hard and it didn't make a difference. I was killing the duels on the first or second go. The world is fun and I've got nothing else to play, so I'm putting off the last mission, but that's just making me more and more op.
What I don’t get is why didn’t they do it themselves and earlier? The combat was essentially different kinds of Japanese fighting styles just set in every other country lol. And they still did Egypt before even thinking about Japan. Unreal. They’re kicking themselves now lol

Ghost is a COMPLETELY different game and genera than sekiro. The ONLY thing they share is the setting. It's not a fair comparison to be made at all.
*genre*
Exactly this.
Why we bringing this up except for click bait? Lol
So you really can't compare them
@Jacob DiCicco also nioh only has 3 stances (low, med and high)

Personally i enjoyed sekiro ALOT more than ghosts of tsushima simply because I'm just burnt out on open world games so I enjoyed the tighter focus of Sekiro. Also the combat system in Sekiro is just perfection once you get used to it
5:30 was expecting him to mikiri that.

No, GoT is just an extremely well done variation on Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry. While the trappings are really excellent, it doesn’t really innovate that much honestly. The only serious commonality with Sekiro is the Japanese lore.
@Ryoshikari yea it has way more depth than either of those but those are more fair to compare it to than to sekiro. At least those share genera
They removed a lot of things like weapons and armor and spells, so that's kind of anti-innovation imo :D (ok we can view the prosthetic arm gadgets as "spells" i suppose)
The point i'm trying to make is that they are not comparable not because of innovation, but because of "sub-genre".
And even though both games innovated in their own fields, we still can't compare them, because said fields are different :)
This game should NOT be overlooked or even just given good marks and forgotten about in a year.
Ghost is far better in almost every single aspect than any other 3rd person open world action Adventure game in this generation aside from maybe Witcher 3, spiderman, horizon zero dawn and God of war.
I really felt exactly the same way.
Horizon blew me away. GoT is just a fun chill. I felt like Horizon was always building toward something and had an awesome crafting/loot system. GoT is great therapy after playing through TLOU2 a few times.

So boring open world, with useless characters?
souls borne considering your name, it doesn’t surprise me that you fell that way lol.
Coming from For Honor, I'm a week into Ghosts and enjoying it. It's... getting better, the more combat options you unlock.
I really liked Ghost of Tsushima, it's beautiful and the story was decent, but Sekiro's combat and traversal is a million times better, everything about it is more varied, imaginative and fine tuned. It's just supremely bad ass.

Why not compare GoT with RDR2?
They both have horses, takes place in old days, and they’re both open world.
More similar than Sekiro imo
That is what I was thinking. West compared to the East.
Not to mention both main characters' horses die near the end of the game
Justin King fuck you
Wow, what a great analysis and review of both games in this similar World and genre.

Well you got something right about me I want to die.
I have been dying a shit ton of times in ghost, it's not as hard as sekiro but you're also one shot, literally no point having a health bar. One arrow or missed deflect and you're dead
From soft was like nope you are a puny man to even look you to them and u must strike from the shadows before dying twice, and they will make you wonder why true corrupted monk has a stage with trees with grapple points to not make her the final boss (I defeated her without any consumables and grappling, worth of her title and role),
They are different games altogether, sekiro is linear and has fantasy bosses, GoT is open and is made for love of its modes. Its more reasonable to compare GoT with fallen order than sekiro. But if you can, play both, but FOR ME sekiro>GOT.

Main Difference is that, Sekiro is Damn hard while ghost is easier.
Ghost is still challenging especially duals and wider battles (more enemy’s)
Ghost has way better graphics and cooler environments too.
Charlie Brown This! This right here drives me fucking bonkers. I’m yelling at the TV like “ bruh you got Heelys on or some shit?!?!”

It really make me felt I was the one holding a normal katana against giant bosses with magical prowess..
Great explanation.
I am starting to get burned out with ghost of tsushima about halfway through which never happened with sekiro. Too much open world formula, constant dialogue/cutscenes and same fights and enemies. Ghost wouldve benefited from a challenge mode

Sekiro just feels so perfectly tuned as a machine, you have to marvel at that level of dedication within its design. You as a player manipulate the game to suit you, Sekiro bends you to its will and makes you better as a player.

Got combat boring??? Good joke 👍
These games swept an Asian Assassin's Creed game from under Ubisoft's feet.
And that's a great thing!!
What I don’t get is why didn’t they do it themselves and earlier? The combat was essentially different kinds of Japanese fighting styles just set in every other country lol. And they still did Egypt before even thinking about Japan. Unreal. They’re kicking themselves now lol
@@jordannickerson2408 ubisoft would have fucked it up lol
